custom rom for galaxy player 4.2 - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

So I've been googling forever now trying to find a cusrom rom for the galaxy player 4.2 and unfortuently can't find one is there any out yet? I have it rooted with a custom recovery any help :/

Actually, there is, but their not exactly "custom ROMs", they are stock based ones.
- ChaOS ROM: It's a 2.3.6 XXFL1 Based ROM, with two different Themes (Jelly Bean & SGS3), made by @ChaosChris. You can see in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279806
-BigRom (A family-based ROM): It's a 2.3.6 XXFL1 Based ROM also, it counts with the default theme, ad-blocker, and the newest version of BusyBox, made by @[email protected]:-$. There is the Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499635

Given the above. And all users are encouraged to read the development threads. As XDA is not a support site, this thread is closed.

[Q] RTL Arabic on S2 i777

my first post, please don't flame (too hard).
I've helped others with GPS and Play store glitch after jelly bean update, and now looking for some help.
My wife has an S2 i777 and did SIM unlock to use with T-MO.
It's GB 2.3.6. The PDA is i777 UCKK6.
I'm looking for RTL with Arabic language support. I've done weeks of reading and I found this nice thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292841 But that ONLY supports UCKH7
This phone is not rooted.
Looking for noob instructions for RTL arabic support.
Thanks in advance.
1. Upgrade to ICS and you should have proper Arabic support sans keyboard - AFAIK Hebrew/Arabic/all RTL language support was first introduced on ICS. When on ICS, download any Arabic keyboard from Play Store and you should be good to go.
2. Or move to deodexed GB ROM (any custom ROM) and run madmack's Arabic patcher (google it and you'll find it). It should work on any deodexed GB ROM, since it's based on Hebrew patcher that decompiles/recompiles the framework - but it's also the reason why it can't work on stock odexed ROM.
I suggest option 1.
Thanks Jack.
1) I heard that ICS was a complete failure and has bricked many i777 S2's. Are you saying to root and use custom ROM as opposed to the ATT update?
2) found what deodexed means... www wugfresh .com /guides / deodex/
Do you have any experience with the i777 S2 and ATT ICS OTA update?
Thanks
1. ICS is generally a better system on this phone IMHO. I do suggest moving to it through custom ROMs rather than through stock official upgrade - stock-based custom ROMs offer stock stability with customization options, and EMBRYO 5.4 is a good ROM that I'm happily running. Not sure how relevant the infamous "brickbug" is, but it's irrelevant for most custom ROMs.
If anyone more familiar with "brickbug" can chime in - you might get a better picture. I got mine with Gingerbread, installed TWRP recovery and flashed custom ROM about 1/2 hour after I got the phone, so I have no experience with stock GB/ICS.
2. "Deodexed" means - not odexed. With Google help:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/
Stock ROMs are always odexed, so you'll have to move to a sort of custom ROM anyway. And if you do - you might as well go a better route than staying on GB.
Since I'm the kk6 (2.3.6) GB, do I need to downgrade factory image first in order to root? Or is there a tool out there to root and put a custom ROM (ICS or JB custom ROM).
Thanks
It's not one tool, it's more.
Read the stickies, they contain rooting guides. See that you understand what you're doing before proceeding.
Thanks Jack. I was just wondering if I needed to downgrade GB version first.
No, you don't need.
Just to let you know, there is a thank button to thank the user that helps you.
It's used a lot here on XDA.
You can thank 8 a day.

[ROM] Firefds - Full Hebrew JB 4.1.2 (and 4.0.4, 4.0.3) ROM for i9100/T

It is my pleasure to let you know the guys who are looking for full Hebrew support (menus, RTL, fonts, etc.) for SGS2 i9100/T, there is a great custom Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM.
Look into this site (in Hebrew) ([רום][4.1.2][Firefds V11 [29/1/13][XWLS8 רום בעברית מלאה):
http://iandroid.co.il/forum/topic61693.html
The guys there made a great work creating it and allowing you to install the ROM via Odin or CWM.
Versions 4.0.4 and 4.0.3 and a Hebrew SGS3 ROM are also available there.
All the credit belongs to the developers there and I'm only a messenger.
Say thanks and donate to the developers. They deserve that.
Other great stuff - Yoelsd ROM (for SGS1, SGS2 (i9100/T and G) you can find here:
https://sites.google.com/site/yoelsdrom/
Good Luck!
I'm going to convert it for my i777 and to try soon... I ported Firefds to i777: was not that good, made me troubles with popping failed Play app. I've removed it. The Yoelsd ported ROM works just OK and I continue testing it.

All languages for Lightforce v9

Hi all, I've reflashed Lightforce Rom v9 because after trying a lot of the 4.3 roms, this is still my favourite, however the Update Me app does not have any files anymore, also the original thread doesn't have links to the addons anymore.
If anyone knows where I can get the all languages pack that would be super helpful.
fyi, the original thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-update-26-06-t2115775

Omega not moving to latest Samsung ROM?

Unfortunately, since my post count is low, I'm unable to ask this the official thread for Omega, but rather have to ask it here in the Q&A section.
The most recent Omega ROM based on Samsung's release is v58, built upon Samsung's XXUGNB6. However, it appears that Samsung has since then released at-least 1 update: XXUGND5 around 2014-April
Other Samsung based ROMs (like Android Revolution HD v52) have moved to XXUGND5, but I like Omega and would prefer to not move to another ROM.
The other Omega ROMs (AOKP & Omni) seem to be regularly updated, so I'm wondering why Omega didn't embrace this Samsung ROM.

New OS for GALAXY PLAYER 4.2

Hello everybody,
I am looking for new android version for my Galaxy Player S 4.2. And I can't find it !
The best is to find an Android 4.x.x version.
I know to use ODIN.
Thank youvery much for your help.
And there simply isn't one (that I know of). You're stuck with CM7.

To make a long story short, there are no 4.x ROM ports for the Galaxy player 4.2. If you're interested in a custom stock one, or CM7, here are the links...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582138 -> CM7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711198 -> HoloFrenzy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279806 -> ChaOS.
These are the only ROMs for the 4.2 that is not a stock rooted ROM, and still has working links.
I know it must be frustrating for owners of this device to find out that it does not have any new version of Android (I too have one), and is stuck with GB, but lately there have been a number of threads with the same question, so I suggest anyone reading this and about to post the same question again to think twice.
