Deleted INTERNAL storage :'( - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I was very excited to update my i9300 to 4.3 so I connected the usb to backup folder by folder all my data (downloads, some folders with photos, etc) and suddenly, everything dissappeared! Including the most important folders I haven't made a backup yet: DCIM, Music, and Whatsapp folder (Media/images I had like 1000+ photos).
I tried restarting the phone, but it only shows these folders:
Android
Application
clockworkmod
DCIM (EMPTY)
Pictures (EMPTY)
Playlists (EMPTY, as always)
WhatsApp (EMPTY)
I'm using stock sammy rom EMG 4.1.2 with siyah kernel.
Any kind of help would be really appreciated! :crying::crying::crying:

Gallery showing no items

when using my camera I can't use the gallery icon in the bottom corner of the screen, when I click it it just says "no items".
I suspect this is due to me running different firmwares such as CM7, between the different firmwares the camera gives the pictures different file names but keeps them in the same DCIM location.
Is there any software I could use to batch rename the files maybe to keep them in the same format? I'd want the dates of the photos staying intact if possible?
Please help. Thanks.
Hi...
maybe when you change your firmware you took backup all your gallery into your ext sd.
make sure that your dcim location is in your internal sd.
the gallery icon in the camera app shows only the files that are stored into your internal SD (internal storage) not at your external SD.
Try and tell me if i helped.
dcim has always been on internal sd, ive never moved it
im sure its to do with the fomat of the files, i recall having a similar issue with the camera not working on cm7. i fixed this by moving the files from dcim to a new folder and it worked straight away but i dont want to do this again...

[Q] GS3 Filenames corruption on SDCARD

I have just updated to Jelly bean on my GS3.
while using the phone on a trip, I ran into trouble when previewing some photos in the photo Gallery and uploading them to Instagram. I had 1400 important photos and videos on the external SDCARD with no issues until the SDCARD showed full capacity available for use !
I need to get the data off the external SDCARD as I have not done any recent backups (Sigh)
Can anyone suggest a way to get the data ?
My GS3 was never rooted
The strange behavior is that the file names on the external SDCARD seem to be corrupt.
I have not formatted or written to the external SDCARD since this happened.

Deleted photos recovery?

It it possible to somehow recover deleted photos? My little sister deleted all the pictures from my phone (which were in the folder DCIM, in the internal 16gb storage).
If they were stored in an 'accessible' part of the phone that you'd normally be able to access when you connect your phone to your PC via USB, maybe(tho unlikely). Get Recuva (Google it) & try that. There are also recovery apps on Google Play you could try (can't vouch for them working/not working; never used them).
Backups are your friend.
I know it's not useful now, but you should use Dropbox and the automated upload feature.
hope it helps

1. connect your phone to PC via USB.. make sure your internal SD partition have been read by your computer..
2. if you were using Windows, I suggest you use GetDataBack (FAT)..
If you're rooted:

It is possible if the partition can be mounted as a ums device, but the recovery attempt should be made as soon as possible or most of it will be corrupt or unrecoverable, the more the partition is used the more the deleted data will get corrupted.

To recover lost photos from Android internal storage, you may need an Android data recovery to help you. Only the Android data recovery can scan the internal storage after you enable USB debugging.
recover deleted potos
If you have accidentally deleted your important photo from memory card and wants to get them back then don't panic, you can make use of Amrev photo recovery software. It helped me a lot, you can also restore your lost files in few minutes. So download the trial version to check its working speed.
Ofcourse its possible, By using FonePaw Android Data Recovery program you can easily recover your deleted photos, videos, and other files.
Recover lost or deleted photos, videos from Android device
Yes recovery of the deleted photos is possible from the saved backup and if there is no backup, then it is possible with the help of Android Data recovery Tool. Using this application tool, it successfully recovers the lost data from the internal as well as external memory of the android device. for more details visit:

How To Recover Deleted Photos From Android Phone For Free
How To Recover Deleted Photos From Android Phone For Free[/URL], It often happens that you accidentally end up deleting all the pictures stored on the memory card of your smartphones.
Actually, the possibility of deleted photos recovery depends on how the space that was not occupied by the deleted data is it. If the space is occupied by new data, there is no chance to get them back, that is, you took new photos after you deleted the photos you want to recover. If not, you can try to use an Android Photo Recovery tool to recover them.

If you have backup, please turn to your backup immediately, all deleted pictures are here. Sync your Samsung data to backup is a good habit for us when we deleted Samsung data by accident.
But when we no have backup, you have another choice to recover deleted Samsung photos-Eelphone Samsung Photo Recovery, which can scan your Samsung directly, and you can recover from SD card. with USB debugging in your Samsung, you can recover all detected Samsung data.

[Q] Xperia Z completely wiped!

I've recently installed 4.2.2 on my Xperia Z (build number 10.3.A.0.423) stock with full root and dual recovery using NUT's instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337433. Everything went fine and I'd been using it a few days until today when I noticed all the files/folders on my internal sd had been moved from 'emulated/0' to 'emulated/0/0', and a whole new set of folders had been created in 'emulated/0'. I decided to move all files and folders from /0/0 to /0 as this was where all new files were being stored since I installed the new firmware. Everything was still ok at this point. I then connected my phone to my Windows laptop and noticed that the folder 'sdcard/storage' was showing as literally empty in the file explorer. All my other files were visible in the /0 folder so I deleted the /storage folder (it was showing as empty). I then noticed that the location of the files on my phone did not correspond with where they were showing in Windows explorer (When I added a test file on my phone to 'emulated' it appeared in 'sdcard/0/legacy' (or something similar) in Windows - basically a right mess!). I then noticed I'd cleared my internal SD card completely, so rebooted to CWM to restore my backup from a few days ago. The backup should have been on the EXTERNAL SD but CWM was saying no backup found. So I then rebooted and noticed that both INTERNAL and EXTERNAL SD's were completely wiped, other than a few essential files that Android had added to the Internal. I talking GB's of photos, music, videos etc.
I know I'm not going to them all back but I just want to know what happened so I never do it again. Why did the file locations not correspond with Windows? Why did an 'empty' folder turn out to be the one with everything in? And why was my external SD (which held all my personal files!)wiped when at no point did I ever edit anything in this??
Very confused, I'd be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this....

samsung galaxy S2 I9100G

Hi to All
i want to flash my phone without loosing files it's possible?
thanks
Make a backup. Copy the folders of internal storage to PC and backup your app data (like game progresses) using the Helium app, for example. If you saved your contacts at Google, they'll be synchronized.
