I have a question regarding uploading photospheres to Google+.
I'm running an AOSP Vanilla 4.3.1 ROM with a Nexus camera apk.
Photosphere works great on the phone. I can take the photos, view them as spheres, etc. However, when I post the photosphere to google+, it will not render properly. It only shows up as a flat image.
I know I had no problems in the past, but now I have seen a couple comments about it the last couple days. A friend suggested that it has to do with me being on AOSP and photosphere being a Nexus feature, not an AOSP feature? Maybe Google is blocking it? Anyone else having similar issues?
Thanks for any help.

Hi all - long time lurker, recent rooter, first time poster. Nice to meet you and all that...
I'm just hoping someone can do a quick dummy check on my thought process. I just rooted and flashed CM7, and am overall immensely happy with the results. The one thing I really do miss from the stock ROM is the camera app. Here's the dummy check - based on my reading and research, I'm thinking it's not possible to install the stock camera from the 'bolt on CM7, because CM7 is AOSP based while stock 'bolt, obviously, is Sense based.
Am I on the money? And if so, does anyone have a recommendation for a camera replacement for CM7 with maybe touch to focus and (dare to dream) better image quality?
Or perhaps comments on the camera in your favorite Sense ROM?
Thanks for listening!
You are correct. Try the MIUI camera via the link below. It works pretty good and IMO is better than the stock AOSP camera.

*EDIT*
Newer version here -> http://dev-host.org/ro1i1549xy2w/MiuiCam_Sept2_test.apk
Much obliged - I'll check that out. Do I need to uninstall the current camera?
I've never uninstalled the old/stock camera. They seem to live together just fine. Just download and run/install the apk for MIUI and that should do it.
Thanks again. I'll give it a try.
Hey,
does someone know, why one of the Promoted 4.0 features, "video snapshots"
is not available in AOSP builds like Cyanogenmod? it means you can take a high-res photo while recording video at the same time.
It is an android 4.0 feature and not specific to the HTC One X as some people suggested earlier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64JulxSOjzc&feature=relmfu#t=46m13s)
It does not need a special camera sensor since it is available in the value pack for the galaxy S i9000 (http://www.sammobile.com/2012/04/10/guide-samsung-galaxy-s-s-value-pack/)
does someone know how this comes?
The Samsung camera hardware drivers are not open source and are therefore not part of AOSP, the CM devs have modded the AOSP camera apk to run on the SGS2 camera, but not all features are implemented, until a couple of weeks ago you couldn't even save video taken with the SGS2 camera, if it's possible to implement, I'm sure they will at some point, be patient. If you want it faster than 12/24/2045 I suggest downloading the sources for the AOSP camera and see if you can add the features yourself.

yeah, i know that video recording wasn't working until just recently (i've been using CM9 since the first nightlies)
i wish i could help with this feature but i have barely any clue of coding so i would be of no use
Generally the CM team worries about things actually working and working properly before they get into added features, they've made a lot of progress but there are still a few issues that are probably on the list above camera snapshot, patience is always the key with these things.
Currently, I'm using an AOSP rom (PAC-Man). I think it's the most feature rich and smooth rom so far. I found myself to have stuttering on the stock TW and even more on alternative Kernels, CleanROM too. KBizzle is absolutely awesome. Yes, I was messing around with a lot of different things. But I have an idea of what I'm doing.
However there are still some things from TW that I love. Google's voice service doesn't add up to S Voice, at least, for me. I've done a ton of research on multi-window view for AOSP based roms and everything. I've found a package of apk's ripped from an S3 stock firmware and I'm wondering, Are there any differences between the two? Are the apps on the Note 2 updated further than the one's on the S3?
Also, what are your thoughts on the PAC-Man Rom? Anyone having issues using Bluetooth with Skype?
Hi there,
I've read that in CM 10.1 Picasa Sync has been removed, which is a real drag, and I would really love to have it back.
I know that I can replace it with the ICS gallery/camera apk, however, wouldn't it be better to just enjoy both worlds?
I've done some looking around, and found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2157821 in the Nexus 7 forum, and have been in touch with rmkilc regarding his creation.
This is what he wrote me:
All my zip does is put the GalleryGoogle.apk (pulled from the stock ROM) into /system/app. It does however check to make sure the device is a Nexus 7 before the script is ran. If that portion was removed, it would flash on any device. As for if the gallery then actually works, who knows.
Now, I'm not a programmer of any sort, nor do I know how to pull something like this off.
Is it even feasible to remove the checker or would it just be easier to find Jimmy Hoffa's body?
Thank you!
PS. I'm already using CM 10.1, and I love it! Getting my Picasa gallery would rule though.
With so many views and no replies, I take it that it can't be done? Or pointless?
Hi I have an issue with all aosp ROMs whereby some websites will display completely distorted images. Amazon is the worst culprit but it happens with many sites. I've included a screenshot to demonstrate what I mean. I'm sorry if this has been asked before but its hard to search as results are mainly images of ROMs. This issue is not present with Samsung ROMs. Any ideas if this can be fixed? Cheers
