Hello,
Today I've been trying to de/re-compile the SystemUI.apk from i9300's android 4.3 build, and after some time the decompiling part goes flawless,
however, when I try to recompile it, I get the following errors:

I understand that the styles are missing, but he, I'm recompiling it, so shouldn't they be there!?
I assume I'm missing an .apk file which I have to include, but I don't quite get which one, or wether it's caused by aapt or the apk's..
as this is my first apk editing, I'd thought I could ask for help around here.

Make sure you're using both of the frameworks...
eg...
apktool if framework-res.apk
apktool if twframework-res.apk
and try again....
EDIT - Just realised you're trying to decompile & recompile AOSP/CM SystemUI. Ignore my comment above....
EDIT2 - Ive had a look into it and the styles that are showing as missing should be in SystemUI\res\values-sw720dp\styles.xml
Are you using the latest apktool/aapt from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755243

I'm recompiling the SystemUI.apk of sammy's original 4.3, and there is no values-sw720dp directory in /res as I can see..
I just updated apktool and aapt using the given links, but the problem still occurs.. ( the exact same )

When i execute make command, this is what i get

Don't use ur desktop folder..use your home folder..

I had tried in home folder but that didn't worked.. and for permission, do I have to give permission to apktool coz apktool can't execute commands..

you are root so you should have all permission.just check you install everything perfect. btw don't need to become root user

yes thats what I was wondering coz I was root....n patch ROM compiling is different so mdroid's studio won't work... Any idea!!

Update:-
All errors except one resolved and after this only zip needs to be formed for testing..
Now the bad part is that SystemUI.apk refuse to compile...
Everyone on github is facing same issue.
I will be editing miuisystemui.apk and if this doesn't work then I will be needing developers help to edit the porting.mk file so that it skips miuisystemui.apk compilation

These are all xml missing resources error...xml contains the layout...how android will display its contents..its menu..setting...its option...u need to check in xml files for this error.

Decompile framework port miui gb systemui and compared with yours

What's the logcat says?
Its first attempt to boot and you got failure that doesn't mean it wont boot

Your JAVA is outdated, with newer version of java there are bug fixes and more library implemented/added. if the program you using is built on a newer version of java you may have issues building applications. also make sure you get the updated JDK <-development kit not the EE version

hi guys, this is the first time I decompile and recompile systeUI KitKat and I have a problem here.
I use this tool to decompile and recompile my systemUI I just replace one image and some value in the string but after I plug in my device I get my statusbar lost and my ScreenLock became black.
is there someone know a solution for this?

Xiami Music apk , translate from Chine to Spanish

The app work perfect in me find7, download music free
I translate string.xml from chine to spanish in app Xiami Music..
After decompile and modify the "string.xml" file that belongs to the "values" folder, compiled and signed application. I return to install, all ok, but links are not working.
If I do not make any modifications to the application, and perform the same operation, the same applies, links are not working.
I use framework of oppo find7.
The application is supplied for any android device, if so use that framework? Is necesary?

Got an error when recompiling apk
well, i guess i need help here when using Advanced ApkTool v4.1.0.
everything runs well from installing framework-res.apk to decompiling an apk. But when i tried to recompile the apk, it didn't work.

jBart - MIUI v6 - MiNote Pro
Hello,
I am trying to decompile and compile rom for miui note pro Version: V6.6.4.0.LXHCNCF （MIUI6）downloaded from miui site with jBart.
But even when I just decompile and compile apks, so few of them end up with error. First I had problem with resource folders which contains mcc9999 in their names, after I removed those folders I was able to compile without errors more apks. I have tried to search for a solution of those problems but I couldnt find it.
(I use the newest version from github)
But according to log I am still unable to compile those apks:

Someone solved this problem? Or any workaround how could I translate this rom? Before jBart I tried everything manualy but I had similar problems and could not overcome them.

Which miui version? Did u use latest jBart?
Version as I mentioned is ROM V6.6.4.0.LXHCNCF （MIUI6） and yes I use the latest version of jBart from GitHub.

Hm, I have some small problem.
When I decompile and compile some files in Flyme OS 5.5.11.24 (without even making any changes) than the Overflow menu and dialogs doesn't work (app on phone stops running).
