HELP... has anyone completed method to update for my LG Connect (MS840) for MetroPcs? I would like to upgrade it to at least Jelly Bean. Can anyone give me some directions?
Well, Metro PCS would rather have all us Connect users to pay for a different new phone than updating existing hardware. But there is a rom you can get but it's still in the alpha phase. CM10 Unofficial by Playfulgod. I have a Connect and will be replacing it with an iPhone or maybe even get the new Nexus 5.

For the past couple months I've been trying to update my galaxy nexus from 4.0.2 to jelly bean through an update distributed on the network however whenever I begin the installation process I'm shown a black screen with Google in white. This screen persists until the phone runs out of battery power despite the fact that the installation is only supposed to take a couple minutes at most. Is there a way to fix this problem or another way to install jelly bean without needing to connect my phone to my desktop?

Have you rooted your phone and unlocked the bootloader? I would check out this video by DroidModderX on HOW TO Install Jelly Bean 4.1 on Galaxy Nexus (Verizon, GSM, or Sprint), make sure to follow the instructions for the GSM version since your on Bell which uses GSM. Hope this helps .
I own two phones. An LG motion and a Galaxy S III. Originally, I got the Galaxy S III and all I had to do was switch my SIM card from my LG to it and it worked fine. Recently, I upgraded from the stock version to Android 4.3 and it stopped reading my SIM card. I know that all I have to do is downgrade to the original firmware but I can't seem to find anything that works. I have the SGH-T999N version from Metro PCS. Both phones inlcuding my phon service are from Metro PCS. I have tried making myself a superuser but it's not working probably because I downloaded everything from another version of the Galaxy III. It will not let me remove or uninstall the super user app file. I don't know if that's going to be a problem but it hasn't affected my phone in any way so far.
Does anyone know how to correctly root the SGH-T999N version of the Samsung Galaxy S III from Metro PCS and also downgrade Android 4.3 back to the originial (stock) version of firmware? This site is my only hope and last resort since I can't seem to find the correct information anywhere else. Some sites or people say that there way will work for any Galaxy III but that is definitely inaccurate since I have tried. Please leave step-by-step instructions and any links I might need. I've been rattling my brain with this for days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey guys, I recently won a contest in which the prize was the Sprint version of this phone (LS990) and I would like to give it a try, but I've never used these CDMA/GSM phones before. I plan initially to give LG stock software a try to see what it's like (I'm a Nexus user most of the time), but eventually I'll probably settle on an AOSP based ROM (or as close as I can get). I was wondering if anyone could tell me in a broad sense what I would have to do to get it SIM/GSM unlocked and running properly on both a stock based (or stock ROM even) and an AOSP based ROM.
EDIT: What steps should I take in order to root? There's no CF-Auto-Root for this device. Is the only way to install TWRP using the BUMP method?
Hey folks-
I use this phone strictly for music and wifi, and I do not have Verizon service on it. Version says they can't help me update it to a newer Android build because it's not an activated phone on their network. I'm familiar enough with flashing ROMs on this phone, but cannot locate a newer (non-stock) build. Does it exist?
Thanks
Rob
Hi, I have the version 7.1.2 of android on my phoenix 4 and I want to update it to 8.1 but although the official update exists, my cell phone simply does not receive it because it is from at & t and I currently do not use at & t. Can anybody help me?

I too am trying to update and no longer in AT&T range. Even using LG Bridge, it comes back saying it can't determine version and won't update. I found some discussions that "Tec's Aristo 2 Tutorial's" should work for Phoenix 4, but those that have successfully rooted and/or installed new ROM seem to lose touchscreen functionality and even flashing stock back does not restore the touchscreen.
So seems it is close, but not close enough to risk turning it into a brick. Anyone out there have luck with updating this phone without connection to AT&T towers?
