SO here's the problem! CM7/Gingerbread cannot render Bangla/Tamil/Hindi and a handful of other languages. However, when Samsung released their smartphones they specifically compiled those two for their devices and that could render Bangla/Hindi/Tamil.
Let me explain clearly. The Tamil character "தி" is a conjunct of two characters and instead of getting displayed as "தி", it will be displayed as "த ி" without space in between. So we can't read anything on facebook/twitter. Only way is to use Opera Mini which everyone doesn't like.

The solution is simple in my mind. Just to take those libskia.so or libharfbuzz.so from any Samsung Specific firmware (Suppose Y Pro Duos: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-B5512&pcode=INU#firmware) and compile them for our Atrix.
It can be done in my thought. As Krystian/Epinter/mmountouri already have done so much advanced work! However, if this problem is solved, it'll be a huge milestone for Asia specific countries because 50% of the majority still use Gingerbread. And if I get the support, I will need JB a bit less.

Posted this on the Raphael forum, I guess it would make more sense to put it here since this is where the actual development is being discussed:
Check out this image from the manual for the Touch HD:

Do you think anyone would be able to get this tab on the Touch Pro? Would love to have an application like this on the Fuze (once I can get one). Of course it might be difficult given the difference in screen resolution (800x480 vs. 640x480).
And in case anyone cares, the full Touch HD manual is available here.
Wow I'm really hoping this shows up in a custom ROM or a cab or something for the pro.
Should be available soon, just follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440861.
And I don't want to play Moderator, but please don't start to completely identical threads at the same time!
Hello, I bought this phone fro china it seems to be a decent phone, but I can't help it when it comes to the software. This phone is called Lenovo s820T( of course it is a reproduction) but is there any chance to get other ROM on it? Because the Hardware has some potential:

And this is a snap of a section 'About phone'
Original ROM is not really stable, after using camere in HDR the phone reboots ant etc. I have some experience with Android, but when it comes to these kind of devices which do not have certain model, I am totally new . I would like to know from where to start (phone is rooted).
Help needed
I think I bought the same equipment right if the friends of the forum can help, I would be grateful.
There really is no where to start as most of those companies never release the kernel source code. So not a lot you can do. Not to mention they are known for lieing about the hardware
Are there any projects or guides out there aiming to help calibrated your screen (as in colour management, not touch calibration)? The reason I ask is that there are a slew of apps, scripts, ROMs and kernels that provide different tools to help change different colour options. Many of them have in-build profiles, made by different people. I have a hardware calibration device and I have yet to find a profile that is anywhere near "good enough" (they are mostly horrendously bad). Maybe the included profiles are made for completely different devices than what they are included with, I don't know, but if no guide is out there -or a project to fix this- then there really should be.
Here's an example of a widespread profile used in more than one kernel(blue) versus stock(red):

Hi everyone
My current phone, which is an LG K10 running Android 7, uses Roboto for English content and Noto for others. For Korean text, that looks like this:

On the G8X with Android 9, latest Sprint firmware G850U10h, it's using some font I don't recognize, and I really don't like it:
Changing the system font seems to only affect the native UI elements and leaves the content of the webview alone:
I've been reading around and it seems the only way to really change fonts is to root, which isn't available for this phone yet.
I've been trying to set up this phone to my standards and tastes over the past few days and I've been encountering roadblock after roadblock after roadblock, and I'm beginning to resent it and regret buying it.
Any suggestions or am I just stuck? I can't believe such a simple change is met with such limitations.
Another screenshot demonstrating it's not just one bad app:
Thanks for reading.
First of all, this is my first post, so hello all and good to meet you
I've been browsing this community for a while, and in my travels I come across these two numbers: either U5 or U6. I've searched my phone settings far and wide but I have no clue where it is or how to find it. Doing a search here or on Google hasn't come up with any results yet either.
Most people who talk about these numbers seem to just know, and it's making me feel mighty silly (which I most likely am)
Thanks for taking the time to click on and answer my question, it's much appreciated
First of all,
Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information
Then look for Baseband Version and you will see a number after U or after S.
I have attached a picture showing the same.
Hope this helps...
