Hi all!!
I am back asking you a question about the bootloader on my gs3 ^^
Here's the point: I have been using Temasek's rom for my Gs3 for a few months, today I decided to install the iHackers Miui Rom.
After wiping and flashing, the iHackers Rom was stuck on boot, and it went on for about 10 mins. I rebooted and reinstalled temasek's rom, working fine. So here's my question: how can I know if my bootloader is unlocked? Why did iHackers get a bootloop?
I am not using a verizon gs3, so I can't use EZ bootloader unlocker.
Thank you for your answers, I'm italian and sorry for my bad english ^^
Hope to see your answers soon.
Have a nice day
If you have I9300 your bootloader is unlocked .
See faqs and guides .
Bootloop is usually user error .

You will need to follow the recovery procedure (it's on the wiki) and in future, read the wiki BEFORE trying to do anything to your device. The situation you are in has happpened many times before, and as such the solution is know and is on the WIKI!
good day guys, today I got my new galaxy s 2 yey... well I was on x10 ericsson before this and that phone was amazing for testing everything related modifying the system etc but now that Im on a new phone I would like to know if its the same as x10.
x10 wasnt able to get bricked as far as i know unless you unlock the bootloader "wich I didnt do" so basically thats the question, is it safe to go messing around with the galaxy s2 ? does it have locked bootloader or is it safe to just mess around and if anything happens boot into recovery and that will fix everything.
thanks for your time and answers
Me too, I came from the x10i. Thread slowly. Rooting your phone will be your first quest.

thanks but, is it the same as the x10 ? I mean is it unbrickeable if you have locked bootloader ? or is it risky to play around with the galaxy s2 ?

No its not risky and is relatively unbrickable .
However their are a huge number of users with bricked phones as they refuse point blank to read the instructions or flash not understanding the instructions . Jeez enough numptys even flash roms for a different phone .

Hi
My first post so please be nice!
About a week ago my GS3 I9300 started to regularly freeze and required me to hold down the power button to reset. This happened fairly randomly but on average 6/7 times per day. I did a factory reset and installed no apps and it seemed fine for 24 hours so i started to install some apps and then it started freezing again.
I'd been thinking about rooting my phone so i thought this was a good reason to try.
I successfully rooted my phone using the toolkit and odin and have since successfully used goo manager and twrp to install a liquidsmooth 4.2.1 ROM.
It looked great and seemed to be ok but then started to freeze up again.
My next idea is to try a custom ICS ROM, does anyone have any suggestions for which one i should try?
Thanks

Seems you may suffer from SDS.

If its freezing you need a full wipe or return to service .
Best rom is for you to decide but ICS is no longer developed .
We have rules faqs and guides all posted read them first please .

(1) Read this and the stickies guide in Generel section
(2) There is no "best" rom
(3) You cannot root a phone with cyanogenmod or any other rom respectivly, a rom does not root!
(4) After reading you should be able to answer all your questions by yourself, otherwise do not root or flash anything.

for rooting just follow the guides, yes, I guess the easiest option is cf-autoroot (will keep your stock recovery, also read the instructions in the cf-autoroot thread). Afrer that you can choose yourself what recovery you want. In addition cf-root6.4 is not considered SDS safe as it flashes an older recovery.

Hi All,
A noob here, I'm have trouble installing MOAR rom. It gets to 20% of the installation then freezes extracting system/lib/lidWFD_RETRANSMIT.so.
I have the S3 GT-i9300 trying to install MOAR v8.
I,ve cleared the cache and factory reset etc.
I've download various MOAR roms and get the same problem with each one.
Any help would be awesome,
Thanks
Link to the rom thread please.

Totally agree i was being a bit sarcastic with my post but I think you have hit the nail on the head so to speak ( I think he is trying to flash wrong phone firmware) if not I would love to see the link to the rom
Yeah, ya all right. Wrong firmware for the phone! Only getting stated playing around with rooting so quite a bit to learn. I've gone for android revolution which is working well.
