The only ROM the Galaxy Player has official support for is PAC.

I am sure it is capable of running it ok does the 4.2 player have 512 or 1gb of ram.?

The amount of ram is not a problem. The fact that Samsung haven't open-sourced the drivers required for ICS I'd the biggest issue

I think they have open sourced some drivers for gb, but they do not have the drivers for ICS

I am sure I am being overly technical and probably a typo on your part, but Slim rom is not 4.1.2 and dark is not a gapps option, but an option in the rom itself.
There is also a website for Team Blackout which provides app that are blacked out.

The stock samsung software dependes heavily in samsung stock touchwith so no luck
