Odin FAILS at boot.img.. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Ok here is my problem.. While testing 4.3 TW and trying to get wifi working for you guys I screwed up my phone.. Ok yes I know how to use Odin to return to stock..blah blah but hear me out..my steps were as follows..
I was on our port from att 4.3 tw here..
I used these files here:
Misc ------------------
Here is the new 4.3 Bootloader
just in case its needed . so you don't have to flash one click just to get there
Contains
4.3 sboot.bin param.bin and tz.img from the latest I317UCUBMJ4 Att 4.3 leak
http://d-h.st/q3a
to flash sboot, param, and tz.img to see if that would kick my wifi on..
Now I am stuck with a screen that flashes Samsung Galaxy Note II when powered on and nothing happens.. no recovery
I am able to get into DL mode but when I try to flash a Stock Odin image or Kies it fails with and without the .pit file.. and seperatly as well
I have tried to use Heimdall to flash everything seperatly but it does not go through.. It sees my device.. I select everything fine.. and nada no progress nothing..
I truly think I have hard bricked my device!!
ANy help would be MUCH appreciated

you've probably tried this, but have you tried to flash the alt vramc3 Odin image? i believe that odin img doesn't have the vramc3 bootloaders.

How's $200 plus shipping? It has a screen cover so there's no scratches on the screen and very little if any on the body. It's unlocked with Tweaked VZW Remix rom and it's been completely wiped.

What firmware did you use in ODIN? I used 4.1.1 VRALJB because that's what my phone came with out of the box and I had no issues flashing it. I never took an OTA...also I could not get into recovery mode easily it took a few tries and finally went into TWRP.

NAND Write Start stalls

First I read all the stickies and tried every installation to go back to stock but Odin just freezes up. Also tried different USB ports and and computers and same results. I can only go into download mode.
You may need to repartition. Not knowing the history of how your phone got to where it is now, I can't be sure. Can you give me a complete rundown of your issue?

How would I go about repartitioning the phone? I full wipe and flashed the new Shostock3 and it was doing fine. The next day when I woke up my phone had the sleep of death. The Galaxy S2 logo was stuck and I tried to get into recovery and it only showed half of the screen and was frozen. Now the screen says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
Go to the Download Repository. The link is in my sig.
First, try flashing full stock Gingerbread. Use the download under the heading I777UCKH7-CL503881 Stock Binaries. This is the full distribution which contains the bootloaders. It doesn't matter whether you use the one-click downloader, or the tar.md5 file with Odin stand alone. If this flash completes, then you're recovered. Follow the guides to root and install a custom Gingerbread kernel, then flash back to SHOstock3 or whatever firmware you want.
If this flash does not complete, then download the I777 UCKH7 PIT and use that in Odin stand alone with the above tar.md5 file. Insert the tar in the PDA slot, the pit in the PIT slot, and check repartition, then flash.

So I tried both the one-click downloader and flash doesn't not complete, same goes for odin and PIT file.

If you didn't try it already, now go back and flash just the tar.md5 file without the pit, again, and see if it will complete.

Yes, I was hoping that the problem is not hardware, but it was a thought from the beginning, given the sequence of failure. Is the phone by chance still under warranty?
Let's don't give up yet, though.
Things to try, then try to flash the full firmware in between.
1. Use Odin stand alone to flash just the I777 secondary bootloader.
2. Use Odin stand alone to flash just the param.lfs.
Try the instructions in this post.

You can already get into download mode. I don't believe there is any difference in the download mode produced by a jig. A jig is really helpful if the wrong secondary bootloader was flashed by accident (or ignorance), and you can't get the phone into download mode any ohter way.

this is file come from sammobile.com website
providing u the right PIT file with flasher

connect ur mobile , open odin program and then press on PIT button and navigate PIT files then (as i think) choose the latest PIT file with name i9300 (ur mobile Model) and latest date and then hit start ..... good luck but i recommend u send it to ur Samsung repair center if warranty cover

before messing with pit files, which is extremely dangerous, flash a stock ROM through Odin and then do a factory reset from recovery

did you tried flashing 4.0.4 stock rom with odin?
same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, flashing 4.0.4 and after that flashing 4.1.2 fixed it.
try to do not mess with pit especially if you didn't backup your efs folder. it is not needed.

okay? the first thing to do here is just flash a stock ROM, no need for pit files
Mine was stuck before than samsung logo, on the model number screen. Almost 1 second or less after opening the device.
Then i flashed 4.0.4 and magically it opened without any loop or something. Its useless to flash 4.1.2 or any other jb stock rom, for some reason it seems not fixing the loop issue.
Again, there is no problem related with pit files.

It's all individual, what worked for you might not work for others. Don't say that flashing JB is useless, because it's not
I flashed stock 4.0.4 firmware through odin. The operation was successful, but I was still unable to enter recovery. What am I doing wrong?

Follow the steps to root and flash your custom ROM again as if you just got your phone. The same thing happened to my T999, and it took me 3 tries doing this to finally get back into Recovery.
try to flash in odin stock rom then root use cwm then try to go to recovery..
My cousin's having the same exact issue and we've been unable to find the proper rom. Can anyone please tell me where to get one? I've downloaded some "international" ones but when i try to upload it it keeps telling me failed, i've tried at least 4 or 5 different roms.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!
Phone is:
GT-i9300
using it in the US with StraightTalk in the US (been working like a charm for ~6 months, all of a suddent when into this weird limp mode)
Phone was running jellybean 4.1.1 (through kies) and not rooted
Try several times before giving up. Sometimes it works after when the device feels that you've had enough stress and fear.
I mean the problem is common but it's solved in different ways or different repeats.
But it seems that your problem is a software problem that can be solved.

[Q] Horrible Soft Brick - Odin Mode Only

Here we go:
I was trying to install a custom rom today (done it about 20 times before on different devices including this one).
Had rooted stock & CWM custom bootloader (unlocked using Casual months ago I think).
Flashed custom rom and (unfortunately) downloaded and flashed a file for the international version (GT-N7100).
Basically, I accidentally flashed the MJ5 custom bootloader by accident (again, it's for international version, which I have SCH-i605).
It's from here under the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR 3.6 AND ABOVE heading
(don't ask why, I'm an idiot. Was trying to install this rom and just totally blew past the fact it was for international version)
I've tried using odin to flash "KIES_HOME_I605VRAMC3_I605VZWAMC3_1098177_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5" (stock rom) and "sch-i605-16gb.pit" as outlined in the countless 'Restore to stock rom/bootloader from bricked state' articles out there on the webs but it keeps failing. (Part 1b from here)
Current symptoms:
Boot loop almost instant at samsung logo with new N7100 line. Will not boot into bootloader but I can get it into odin download mode.
Using Odin3 v 3.07 (on multiple computers with the right drivers I'm pretty sure) I go into download mode and this is listed:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
WARRANTY BIT: 0
Odin hangs at 'Get PIT for mapping' if re-partition is checked, outputs the following if re-partition is unchecked (only auto-reboot and F. Reset Time checked)
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin v.3 engine (ID:6)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/006> Initialzation..
<ID:0/006> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/006> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/006> boot.img
<ID:0/006> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/006> FAIL!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
After this point, it's like the phone stops responding to odin, because if I try to flash again or flash something else, odin just outputs:
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
I've been at it for about 8 hours now and I know I'm getting desperate, so I'm hoping you all can help me out before I resort to new phone/sending in for factory reset
Thanks!
- John

Sorry to say John but that's not a soft brick. Flashing a bootloader for another device causes a hard brick which willl require a JTAG.

I actually did the exact thing you did. I can flash other roms, but can't get the radio back or flash AOSP roms. Can you let me know how the JTAG goes? I need to do it, too. It's either that or upgrade to a note 3.
Could you guys give me a recommendation on the one I should choose?
Also. I don't mean to sound like a "noob" or anything, but would it be possible to just flash the i605 bootloader back?

Sounds like you have a different issue. Have you tried reverting to stock? If you can flash roms fine then you should be able to go back to stock which would return you to i605 radio and bootloader. If you go back to stock and still have no radio then you probably borked your efs

I have tried doing that, but Odin gets stuck on different things. I cant even repartition with the i605 pit file. But it lets me repartition with the N7100 one. Also, I cant flash the stock rom as it gets stuck on sboot, but if I use 66root one, it goes through, but doesn't run properly. (Odin also allows me to flash the N7100 stock file.)
The bootloader baseline file also gets stuck on tz.img. (Unless I'm using the wrong one, but I'm sure I'm not)
I kind of lost hope in restoring my phone to normal. if I flash a 4.3 TW Rom, it works fine, but the radio doesnt read. If I flash a 4.1.2 Rom, it works fine and I might or might not get signal, but data doesnt work and my internal memory reads 0/0. Any ideas?

Most likely you're going to need JTAG if you really want to be back to original. If not there are a few things I would try.
Anyway, from what I'm reading you're on an N7100 bootloader so that's why you're able to repartition with the N7100 pit file. You're pretty lucky you're even able to repartition to be honest.
What happens when you flash the N7100 stock rom? Are you able to boot?
Are you using your phone on the Verizon network?
Btw, the reason root66 works is because it only contains the system partition. There's no sboot, boot, modem etc in there to conflict with the N7100 bootloader you currently have. But of course it will have issues since the i605 system image won't jell well with N7100 boot, etc.

If I could avoid JTagging it would be preferred haha. I don't care about going back to complete original (stock) if that's what you mean. I just want to get my Radio to read while being able to access my storage and data because I'm pretty happy with the 4.3 Touchwiz Rom (at least for now).
When I flash the N7100 stock rom, I can boot. It boot loops until I go into recovery and format data/cache and after that it works fine, with no radio service. Also, I have always been using my phone on the H2O Wireless network with APN settings. But now, the radio doesn't read at all and shows no imei and what not. However if I go back to Jedi X 19 (was my daily 4.1.2 TW driver), the radio reads and I have my imei, but I can't get data and it says my memory is full (can't open gallery and my internal SD says 0/0 bytes).
I know about root66, but what I don't understand is why I was able to flash to the N7100 bootloader and now can't flash back to the i605 one. Is there a specific reason for that?
Btw, Thanks for trying to help me right now. Really appreciated.

Okay, I doubt what I was thinking of is going to work then. I was thinking you should flash the N7105 modem while you're on the N7100 rom. Maybe you can try that or maybe try flashing the i605 modem there's always the risk of fully bricking it though.
If that doesn't work I would try using Heimdall to flash the I605 pit file and sboot.bin.
Heimdall sometimes works in cases where Odin fails (according to a JTAG guy a spoke to once)
I have no problem helping. I have three motherboards myself, two of which i experiment with. One is bricked, one is water damaged and semi bricked (no efs, imei, internal memory only works on 4.3 TW) and one is fully functional

Well at this point, I was already ready to send it for JTag repair so I'll try anything. Would you mind letting me know which N7105 modem I should flash? I've already tried i605 modems (not through Odin though) and they haven't worked.
I'm a bit confused with how to use Heimdall and where to find sboot for i605. I have it and wanted to try it, but was lost haha.
Oh that's great lolol. Mine is like yours for internal memory right now. I have a back up of my efs folder, but when I restore it, it doesn't read it.

If you have CWM or TWRP you could try one of these flashable modems from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031575
As I said this might brick you fully
Heimdall is pretty easy after you get the hang of it. After download you will need to setup the drivers with the zadig.exe installer. I would use a different usb port from the one you currently use for Odin so you don't have to reinstall samsung drivers whenever you want to use Odin. You should find a tutorial easily to get started. If you need more help I can go into a bit more detail.
To access the files that Heimdall will need (sboot.bin, boot, tz, system, param, modem.bin etc ), make a copy of the tar.md5 rom file you have. Remove the .md5 at the end and use 7z to extract the contents. You will see all the separate files needed for each partition.
The fact that you can actually repartition sounds good though. I feel like if you can get the I605 sboot.bin (bootloader) flashed, you can then partition with the I605 PIT. This is all speculation though :fingers-crossed:

I got it. Alright then I will try this tomorrow when I finish classes (It's 3am right now and I have to wake up in 4 hours). I'll post here with the result! This is a new suggestion for this, so I'm kind of nervous/excited about the result. haha.
Just think of it as another experiment for you. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know and thanks so much.

Also in case you didn't realize, since everything except internal storage works in JediX19, when installing Jedi you can install the swap script, FAT32 script (no need to format external sd card). Then you will have 'internal storage' and a signal. Not the best solution but a workaround. Not many roms have the swap script option so I guess you'd be stuck on Jedi if you choose this route.

So Heimdall didn't work - it failed repartitioning and when I tried unchecking that, failed at bootloader, then at cache, etc. Do you think it's wiser for me to first try flashing the modem then do the SD Swap? or to just do the SD Swap thing on Jedi?
EDIT: I just did the FAT32 script and the internal storage (which is actually my ext SD card), still says 0/0 bytes...

Strange it works for me. Otherwise I only have internal memory when I'm on TW 4.3
I guess there's not much more experimenting to do

I'll keep trying to see if the Swap could work eventually. I'll just stick with Jedi or the 4.3 rom until I JTag repair in 2 weeks. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

SGH-i527 stuck in recovery

I've got a SGH-i527 that when I turn it on it goes into Odin mode with the yellow triangle saying there was a problem with the upgrade and to connect it to Kies. Kies 3 will not work with it, and if I open Kies 2 it says it's connecting forever.
If I hold down volume and home button and start it up, and try to use Odin3 with AutoReboot and F. Reset Time check and flash I527UCUAMK2_I527ATTAMK2_I527UCUAMK2_HOME.tar.md5 it errors out and the device has SW REV CHECK FAIL : Fused 4 > Binary 3.
Someone help me out here?

Here's a little more info that might help. I tried booting the device without holding the buttons just a second ago, and this is what is on the screen.
Image size too large! W:1080, H:1920
display image fail
Secure Fail: Kernel
Ok, so I think I'm having issues because I don't have the right firmware.
From what I've been reading is that there isn't a firmware released for the i527 for AT&T correct? Or can someone point me in the direction for that ROM.

I haven't found anything. is there seriously no stock rom for this phone?
From what I'm gathering there is no TAR available for 442 so we can't flash in Odin. I don't know about you but I can't get to recovery either.

I have 2 megas in my shop right now that the same thing happened to them. Now they cannot be restored through ODIN and Kies says that the model/SN is incorrect.
I got the same problem as well tired to root it didn't work then tired to flash stock rom and I.got display image.to large can some give me right file for rogers Canada cell please and.what.do I need.checked.off in odin
I found these files by chance in the forums somewhere, i repair cellphones and was working on a work around for the replacement screens not working for the i527 At&t, these files will put fix your current softbrick and restore you back to 4.4.2
Using odin v3.09 place each file in each location Pit in Pit, BL in BL, etc. And let finish, everything should be back working once complete. I do not take credit for these files, as stated before i found these on XDA somewhere and cant remember exactly.

(D0l1) Please Help phone won't boot, (recovery not Seandroid)

Ok just got replacement S6 edge had D0l1 firmware on it out the box...flashed unikernel in ODIN on it for root....booted just fine and had root...then flashed latest TWRP through ODIN tried to reboot into recovery Now phone won't boot. if I force a restart it does Sammy logo then a white flash real quick to black screen followed by a vibrate then just stays black. Only thing I can do is get it in DL mode.
Now I have tried to DL the D0l1 Firmware from 2 different sources on here at XDA so I can ODIN back to stock but can't get Odin to recongize the zip.....so I extracted the files but says something is corrupt?. I am not a noobie when it comes to rooting and flashing and this is the deepest of trouble I have ever been in as far as Bricking a device. I have no clue what to do now???? Any help please!
Honestly, all I need is the D0l1 firmware which I cannot somehow get without it being a corrupt file
I just don't get it.....Odin will not recongize the D0l1 firmware for me to flash? I just Odin'd back my other S6 edge with broken screen to send back for insurance claim no problem with c09 firmware or the # before this D0l1. 3 different download sources same thing Odin will not see the zip file after clicking on AP.
I can' boot into recovery..does anybody have the stock recovery for tmobile that I can flash in ODIN??

Ok I tried to DL the D0l1 firmware from couple other places on here and when I unzipp it Winrar is popping up message saying the the file is corrupt but it unzips anyway then when I flash in ODIn it says Fail....not sure if that's because of the file or this new bootloader from Sammy is ****ing things up for people like us? I'm staring to get nervous....this DL from Sammy is gonna be a long time.
Also, I just noticed they have ODIN 3.10.7 out.....gonna DL that also as I have 3.10.6 still. see if that helps at all.
Yes...the dl will take a minute. If possible just leave your pc alone while it downloads.
If Winrar says its corrupted then it is. No sense in trying to flash it

OK, so I downloaded the file but like I said earlier (this is weird) When I unzip this file.....Winrar pops up and says the (archive is corrupt) but it unzips anyway but takes longer than your average file to unzip.....load it up in ODIN and when I start it goes through process and just fails? what can I do now?
How can the file be corrupted straight from Sammy???
Is there anyway you can get me the file already unzipped not saying it was corrupted?
I can upload the file. But it will take a while

Bro....I think I might be ****ed honestly, I hope not but it seems like if you get stuck in a BL with this new loader....it will not let you flash a stock image. My phone says in red at top when I force a restart (Recovery is not seadroid) I tried extracting just the recovery out of the D0l1 firmware and packed it up as a TAR and flashed but it just hangs and never completes the process. I have searched google to the end of the earth about trying to recover after this new firmware update but can't anything or anybody successful....just people stuck like me. Wish I would have just let it go and rolled stock cause I was gonna jump to the nexus probley.....but you and some others showed you were rooted and good....it all went downhill after odin'd TWRP
Your fine....my upload will take awhile. Its the tar file. So all you will have to do is flash in Odin
Your stuck because you didn't unlock the bootloader. If you get into download mode then your going to be ok. So just kick back for a few hours until my upload us done
