[Q] [REQ] CM11 for D802 - G2 General

Is anyone here able to built a CM11 for D802?
For HTC One there are 3 builder but the closest device to Nexus 5 has no-one that can do this? Please help.

Any patience? It's being worked on. No ones getting paid to dev for this device.

that's bad. this device is so nice and fast. compared with my HTC One it is generations ahead.

There's no point in asking this question. Do you really think there's devs who start building the latest cm for the g2 because you say pretty, pretty please, while if you hadn't asked, they wouldn't build it? I really can't understand why people start threds like this.

wishfull thinking I wager.
No is the answer you always have unless you ask.
Sometimes asking guarantees a no, difficult. lol

threads like this will always keep coming, best is to report it.
Here is how it is: the device is new, as always with new devices it takes time before enough people have the device to work with it. The htc one has been around for some time and enough devs have it to have "3 builders".
In about 6 month when next cm version releases and a new phone releases, guess what? This phone will get the "updates" faster than that new phone. And repeating this year after year until everyone is poor.

How's Development for this Device

Just like the title says......I'm looking for a quadcore phone and for the price, can't really beat this but sadly to say, it's been released since November and have not seen very much action going on here.
Is the LG phone pretty much just the way it is?
Thank you,
Roderick

We will have some stuff very soon. I hope before February, if not then, hopefully in Feb. There are people working on both CM10 and AOKP. The devs haven't had source so are sort of flying blind. They have mentioned they think source will drop soon.

oh very nice......that's what I was thinking too maybe that the source was just not available at this point. Honestly, at this point, this phone is a monster and would love to see some development go on this. lol

What more do you want, the devs don't want to spend to much time on building ICS ROMs when jelly Bean is right around the corner. Once the source drops expect things to pick up.

I don't see why everyone is getting mad at the guy for saying it sucks because, compared to the other devices, it isn't getting much support. That's a fact. It sucks in the sense we don't have much support. It's awesome though that from the support this device DOES have, they seem to be really committed and knowledgeable and I truly believe this device is gonna have some awesome stuff in the coming months.
To the OP, it is getting better. When I first came here, devs were just working on getting the bootloader unlocked. And now we have quite a few ROMs and quite a few mods thanks to the awesome and devoted people in this section. This is still a brand new device and it's only getting better. Can't wait to see what the future has in store for this device!
I'm actually listing this on eBay to sale because I've tried my hand at bringing cm and without sources to go off of its extremely difficult. The phone itself has potential, but don't think it will get the support it deserves due to LG. I'm going back to Samsung and will live my days out there unfortunately.

As for that comment you should go give it a whirl I've spent last week working on a port package to bring 4.1 roms from n4 to this device but piecing together a kernel when that's not my forte is painful and ended in frustration...just ask my wife lol she didn't see my face much.

This....sold my OG and back on my S3. Inferior device....superior user experience. Kind of like the old school apple android days. By the time this thing gets any support, the S4 will be out and undoubtedly destroy the OG...

Source is coming within the month most likely, and honestly I don't miss much from when I had JB on my old phone, but since we are getting JB soon anyways, and some of the devs have CM10 booting....

I think everyone is mad at LG for craptacular support of their device but taking it out on the poster because he is insinuating that the problem is with the developers. They are doing the best they can but only a very small handful of devs have the knowledge, time, and resources to overcome the obstacles in our way, again, because of LG. Once those roadblocks come down, then it will be much, much easier for the garden variety developer to customize and build ROM's for the LGOG, and things should take off.

Development for this phone is non existent. Selling mine to a coworker.
Not the developers faults though. It's LG...and don't plan on buying anything from them again whether it's their TVs or phones. Just took 2 LG TVs back to the store that I bought for my office. I refuse to support a subpar company.
I just think it is insulting to the devs that are working on the device. And everyone thinks nothing is happening since the devs don't post their work here but on the irc Chanel. Is as of everyone expects a CM ROM to be available with in a week of the device dropping, even though we don't have kernel source.

I just can't believe all the negativity. Every new device takes time. I also don't miss JB at all. This device is faster than all the other ones I've had.
I also can't believe that there is another thread asking about development. There's a section for that. All you have to do is look there.

I don't believe they are trying to talk bad about the great work this entire Dev community has done, but rather about LG. You guys have done a great job with what you were given. The OG components wise is a great product, but the fact that LG released it obviously will hinder its progress and potential. GL to you guys and I am sure you will release a great product with exceptional support unlike LG

Not anywhere near a $99 price point, but I agree. Would've waited but I can't afford an upgrade being in college, and I managed to get this phone for free.
Not to be pessimistic, but LG takes their sweet time releasing source. Coming from a G2X and 03D.

About G2 development...

Hi, i have noticed that the available aosp roms are pretty stable and they came super quick to the device.
My question is; how and why is it like this, is the G2 developer-friendly or are they just "cheating" or bypassing something i dont know about?
I also wonder how the G2 is compared to the N5 regarding development of roms and such..thanks in advance.

I went to the HTC One and also working on the Nexus 5 and possible LGG2 which is my new primary phone...As for the MIUI on this, I havent forgot anyone here. I will try my best to support everything I can. after my drive crashed, I lost a lot of my changes, and between the other 3 other devices (N7G2 as well), family, and work, This one is been kinda on the back burner.
There are some more improvments that MIUI is pushing out as someone has stated, but for the most part, its not really changing much. Its more under the hood improvments then user improvments. Not saying that they dont or wont make user improvments, its not just not as dramatic as for say android has been know to go through
I wont make a promise, but im shooting for the begining of the year for an update on this!!! but please..please dont hold your breath to that.im doing the best that i can with all that i have going on.
So Happy Holidays and Happy New Years to you and your families

Porting the final Lollipop "preview" to our G2

Hey guys,
Google just posted the updated preview of L to the Nexus 5 and 7 WiFi yesterday.
Now I know that it's not really the last build, but everyone on the internet are saying that it looks like the code is almost final.
So I wanted to ask - Are there developers here who's maybe working on a port for the LG G2?
I'd be really excited and happy to see a Lollipop port to our device, and if someone could do that, well...
Thanks.
Patience...
The SDK was released late yesterday. Our fantastic devs will port Android L to us sometime. Just have patience and wait.

Ohh but It's soooo hard to wait.
But say what you don't say, our developers are the best!
I just wanted to know if someone's working or will work soon on it.
Because there's at least until December for CyanogenMod's team to release CM12, and no one wants to wait that long.

Port it yourself, then.
It takes time for a port to get stable - it's not about getting Android L first. And devs won't release a half baked build, because some people will start complaining and crying.
So if you're really in a hurry, start porting yourself.

And I'm not complaining or something, so don't get me wrong. I just wanted to see if some developers are working on it. I respect them and I know that it takes time.
Just wait a bit for the Lollisauce, and you'll get it pretty fast
the new lollipop preview is very close to final build.there is no major bug.so any developer please give porting a try.please.whole g2 community will be very thankful to you guys @fabioio @savoca @Cloudyfa @OptimusRs @bender_007 @dr87
and a request to those, who are going to say me to port it yourself, that i dont have any knowledge in porting
Guys you also have to know that porting like that is dangerous in somethings, it is harder since its an higher android version and its probably unstable also with alot of bugs. So I suggest just to wait until android L source is out , Cyanogenmod12.

I would advise against it.there is no lg reference device (like last year), and you would be working off an sdk with no device specific bits. I don't think a functional port would be worth the effort involved.just wait and you'll have something before the end of the year (probably sooner).

There are a lot of ROMs for older devices which has no official support on the specific version. And from what I know Cyanogenmod are releasing new versions for devices even before any references appear, without any support.

Devs are working hard to build it, but there seems to be issues building it from source and flashing it. Some Quincyatt users tried to flash it when a dev build it, but failed to flash. Be patient . You might have to wait until February or earlier, because other devs that make roms for other phones are already building Lollipop 5.0.2, which is major fixes,

What kind of proof do we have that we aren't waiting on a ghost?
There is no proof. The original Note is a very aged device now, but very reliable. As reliable as the talent of the developers that exist on XDA. You only have a few choices.
Trust and be patient
Develop yourself
Buy another device.
Don't be so quick to throw the first option away. Sorry, I haven't looked at your stats, but I have been here a while with several devices. One thing I have learned, this device won't die.
Good things come to those who wait. They said the Note wouldn't get JB. They said it wouldn't run KK.

Was using a Note 3 for a while. Awesome device, but because of the locked bootloder and the fact that safestrap is no longer supported, I just went back to the Note. I'll settle for a slower device as long as I have the flexibility to customize it. I have a hard time understanding why OEMs force consumers into using their ROMs.
P.S. - It's Motorola

Good things come to those who wait. They said the Note wouldn't get JB. They said it wouldn't run KK.

That's all fine and dandy, I just wish these mystery developers, could at least Identify themselves and make a note (no pun intended) that they do in fact have intention on porting 5.0 to the note, and are in fact at some stage of development (no eta required). I prefer to have this than to having someone, who isn't claiming to be one of these "undercover developers", tell me "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February." for all I know you may be getting your information from talking to a horses butt hole (no flame intended). Even a link to an non-credible noob from some backwater internet forum saying he's in the beginning development stages would be better than "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February."

I'd encourage you to check out the "AT&T Galaxy Note I717 Android Development" and take note of some of the users who have contributed in the past. Those individuals would most likely be building for our device.
Well, I am sorry that I am not your developer in shining armor. Its people like you and your lack of patience which keep developers lurking in the shadows.
No flame intended.
Why don't you try yourself then?

Lol to tell you the truth, I didn't care who or when 5.0 was coming out, I wouldn't have cared up until someone deliberately said:
Devs are working hard to build it, but there seems to be issues building it from source and flashing it. Some Quincyatt users tried to flash it when a dev build it, but failed to flash. Be patient . You might have to wait until February or earlier, because other devs that make roms for other phones are already building Lollipop 5.0.2, which is major fixes,

Which was fine with me, but he DID make it seem like he knew of something going on behind the scenes, so the "proof" I wanted in this case would be a link to some sort of bug report thread or actual development thread. (I wish you could quote me on badgering anyone for a release date LOL) and I voiced this into a reply to the so condescendingly put:
And the Jedi Knight said,
Better late than never. Patience young one

The proof I wanted was in no way shape or form a request for an ETA, but then you had to go ahead and post this
...Trust and be patient...

Like we are an angry mob begging you (someone who is not developing for the note, or knows nothing of the matter) for the release date like our lives depend on it.
Ps. I would hardly call what KitKat does on the Note, "running".

Lulz. I've had a great experience with select KK ROMs, particularly Unofficial AOKP and SlimKat. Maybe you just need to know what you're doing. Just passing by to say that and off with you now.
P.S. Thanks devs

Really? I've been running Kit Kat on both of my notes since release! At release there was some bugs, but I'd say sounds like you haven't tried too many distros of it lol! Any newer CM11 runs pretty damn good. And Liquid runs well! I personally found BrokenOS to be practically flawless and I'm running the newest release of Spirit ROM right now and damn its killer! So I'd love to know how you can say Kit Kat is hardly running? LMAO!
