Hey everyone.... I posted a few days ago about rom's for my s4 and got no replys, Got fed up and went to buy a nexus (assuming that it having 4.4 would support galaxy gear manager)
I want to get my galaxy gear watch to work with something other than my note3 because its just to damn big sometimes. So I tryed to install 4.3 on my s4, and couldnt get cell reception to work. so i went and bought a nexus 5 because its up to date on the OS's. but now im getting a "device not supported" error.
So ive been reading that when you create a app you give it minimum device support parameters and maximum parameters. so im thinking, YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO EDIT THIS!
Thus making gear manager work on my nexus, an allowing me to pair it and get under way!
But i dont know how to do this, can some one help?
Did you think that maybe those parameters are set for a reason?

I understand that it may be a bit glitchy but the peramiters set by this app are so it can only be used on a samsung device running jellybean 4.3 and at the current time so it can only be run by a note 3..... not because other phones cant handle it.... on the nexus it might be a glitch fest (witch so far its not) but on the s4 it will be fine.... but thanks for the help/

hiee is there any way to get the samsung dive enable on our devices/????
http://v2.samsungdive.com/help/guideRemoteControls.do
it helps ur to locate the phone , manage the phone , remote controll the phone feature...
it works with the international GALAXY NOTE...
isnt there any way to get it on OUR DEVICE???
i dont understand why att removed it!
i used to have internation GSII, samsung dive is build in!
HTC has the same service for their phones. And, before anyone yells at me, so do a lot of others. And there are apps in the Play Store that do this. Anyway, it looks pretty cool. I wonder if it can be added via an apk or something. Good find, OP.
Edit: So, I just registered. I don't have my Note yet. Do we need additional software of is it as simple as marking the checkbox in the Security section on the phone?
I would love to get this working on our devices as well...
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
Well, I got my Note today and I see no way to enable the Remote Support. So, it looks like it can't be done unless maybe we use a ROM that has that setting. Everything else seems good. It's just that setting, which is related to an API.
Try SeekDroid, seems better than Dive
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5sc2Ryb2lkLmNlcmJlcnVzIl0.
Cerberus does everything Samsung Dive does and then some. Plus, you're not limited to just a Samsung device. It's every bit worth the price.
Try this app. It works for all phones and laptops. www.preyproject.com.
Download the app from the play store, ( Pray Anti-Theft) and set your devices on-line via the link above.
Hey all,
So i'm in a dilemma. I currently have a Droid Razr (rooted with eclipse) on ICS. I also have a Galaxy Tab 2 7" (unrooted). I'm trying to play a game called Order and Chaos (gameloft online). It says in game that it doesn't recognize either device (in game), resulting in me NOT being able to play.
Breif Backstory: Before my Razr had ICS, and was on GB, I followed instructions here for editing the build.prop and tricking or spoofing the phone into thinking it was a Droid3 (phone compatible with the game). I could download, open, update and play the game. (Once game worked- changed back the build.prop and had no problems).
NOW that I have ICS, I brick the phone every time I try to edit the build.prop like before. I tried to install the .apk directly and that didn't work. I assume the game checks while loading.
Does anyone know if it is even possible to trick the new ICS rom into thinking it is an older model phone like the x2 or droid3?
Or can I "convert" or trick it into thinking it is a Galaxy s3, or other phone that DOES work with the game?
And same question goes for the Galaxy tab 2, tricking it into being a 1st gen galaxy tab (which works with the game)?
Stressed out and just looking for some expert help because all I want to do is drink some beers, sit on my ass and play a game.
Thanks in advance guys and girls
Not an expert (or even close...) but by any chance do you use Titanium backup? Because if so, maybe the apk is stored there...Don't know if this is a "paid" app, but if not, you can probably find the apk online...
I had a similar issue with Tiny Tunes. Both daughters wanted it, only one phone could get it. Downloaded it on one. Backed it up on my pc. Connected other phone, dragged and dropped. It worked on both phones....

It is a paid app. However i did find the apk onlkne and tried that route. Stilll gives me an in game error about not recognizing the device. I have a feeling it scans the device for "compatability" on startup, which is why thephone has to be spoofex as another one.
Tried the titanium backup but. That didnt seem to work. Fml. Anyone else have any ideas?

This is nor 'pros' section, but development. Make question in QA section.
Thank you
what about changing the android.version numbers too? Considering that Droid 3's official updates only went as far as gingerbread.

Ahhh calex.... great observation. So is it possible to trick the phone into thinking it is a different one, on ICS.. Say for instance a galaxy s3 or does someone know a phone similar to the droid razr that will work?
Anyone?
Hi everyone! Today I finally decided to register in this great community, mainly because I'm looking for help and you are the ones that can help me.
I'm Henry and as the title says, I've hold and played with a Samsung Galaxy S3 running nothing more than Gingerbread. Why and how were my first questions when I first saw it, but I haven't been able to answer that.
This is the story: a friend of mine was given that GS3 hoping that he could solve the stuttering and lagging that it had (has) after a professor of him took it to a "technician". He, being the Android lover he is became surprised, so he came to me yesterday hoping that we could bring things back to normal (install stock jelly bean), but with no avail. That "thing" has the stock recovery and is not rooted, things we found EXTREMELY weird. We spent three hours trying to root it and then install a new recovery using different tools (gingerbreak, odin, odin mobile [we realized odin mobile needs root permissions to work, but still], samsung kies, universal_gb_root, framaroot) but you guessed: nothing worked. The only thing we didn't use was SuperOneClick. We couldn't put it into download mode and when we connected it to the pc, it didn't appeared as "adb interface" or "android composite device" but appeared with another strange name that had nothing to do with samsung or android, I can't recall the name of it right now. The other things we found was that the GS3 was showing that the internal storage was just 200mb, when it's a phone with "16"gb of storage, and that the battery says SAMSONG instead of SAMSUNG.
Long story short: it was an international, unlocked Samsung Galaxy GS3 i9300 running Gingerbread. My friend got it because a professor of him wanted he to fix it because after she took it to a "technician" it was very laggy. It was not rooted, it has stock android recovery (useless) and odin won't recognize it.
Do you guys have any effing idea of what is going on and how can we fix it?
We have three hypothesis: 1) they swapped her phone with a chinese knockoff (an extremely identical and functional knockoff); 2) they swapped the GS3's hard drive; 3) they didn't know what they were doing and installed Gingerbread instead of Jelly Bean (yup, sounds unlikely).
Thank you very much for yor help and attention!
Before getting halfway through your post, I decided you were talking about a clone/ knock-off

Then it's an extremely accurate clone. It has the samsung's boot animation, sounds, everything!

They all do. These things you listed are the easiest things to "clone". In fact, since they live in software, they could easily have been ripped out of the official firmware. A friend of mine (willingly) bought a Note 2 clone. It even has the annoying whistle notification.
It's not that accurate a clone though, if it comes with gingerbread, which the S3 never came with.

Well, you do have great points. Even so, is there something we can do about it? Besides give the police a heads up?

You need to prove 2 things.
1) It is a fake
2) It was not a fake before
2 is quite easy if it was supplied form an official network / carrier / provider store. 1 will involve screenshots of the about phone area and some physical shots as well as some info gained from this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cpuid.cpu_z&hl=en

You're welcome. Please let me know how you get on,
Easiest way to tell a clone is to take the back off and compare side by side with a genuine s3, the shape of the inner mouldings, position of sim and sd readers is very hard to exactly match during the reverse engineering process.
But the gingerbread and lack of download mode is conclusive in itself.
Check the imei and serial numbers on the original phone packaging against the imei of the handset you hold, if they are the same then your friend bought a clone.

i think you can use this feature when you have rooted your phone and intalled a custom keyboard....this is my explanation...but i dont know how to root this phone and i dont know why dont have this phone custom rom and recoveries like the other samsung phones likethe s4 and s5....this is ridicolous like samsung's software update policy...
i think the ace 4 family don't have in the future the lollipop update and that thing meaning i don't wanna to buy another samsung phone....rather want an apple or sony....
Hey all, I hope you can help me a bit. Since few weeks I've back to use mine old phone S4 Active. When I was using J5(2016) everything was running clear, but since I've switch to S4Active, I have a little problem with mine GearFit2- yes it paired sucessfull BUT, i can't install such apps like Endomondo or even new themes on mine GF2 ;/ Any ideas why? It was 100% fine with J5 but now this... . And no, I will not go back to J5- it's way slower than mine 5years old S4Active xD
Thanks in advance
