About 15$ BLACK RUGGED HYBRID CASE COVER+CLIP HOLSTER - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Bought this on ebay for almost $15 here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...6568&ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:US:3160#shpCntId
Hoping it'll be a good deal case looks decent. It looks like it'll protect my note 3 well. To bad I've dropped it once :-\ and have to wait till Friday to get the case. Just got it and few marks on the silver parts, silly me for leaving the phone on my pants and leaving car. The phone hit the cement :'(. Ah well you live and learn first time any real damage to any of my phones. I baby them and usually have a case on them really quick for this exact reason.
Anyways I might make a video review or just post pictures of it all with the final review of it. Should be a decent deal or so I hope. I'm more looking forward to the case, belt holster, screen protector, fishbone cord winder, and the headphone splitter though the last two will probably useless. Rest of the stuffs just bonus i guess will be useless but still nice free bee's, like the headphones I'm sure they're crap but i always end up washing all the ones i buy anyway.
Here's a list of included things:
1 x Belt Clip Holster Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9000
1 x Screen Protector
1 x Microfiber Cloth
1 x Application Card
1 x Black Stylus Pen
1 x USB Cable.
1 x Car Charger (Micro USB,only use for battery charging ,can not data transfer )
1 x Earphone
1 x Earphone splitter cable (1 in 2 out).
2 x Ear Caps.
1 x Fishbone Shape Earphone Cord Winder
Wish me luck and Hopefully you find this info useful

Looks like a bunch of junk except for the case, but I hope it works out well for you. Let us know how it goes.

Yea i figure everything but the belt clip and case will be pretty much junk but for almost $15 extra crap can't hurt ($15 case for this phone that is lolz samsung ones seem so expensive 30-60$ range). I'm sure everyone else has the other crap lying around collecting dust. Which will probably happen for me to only things I can see I'll most likely use is the splitter the headphones and possibly the pen if it feels better than the s-pen. Seeing it might be a little bit bigger and more comfortable in the hand possibly.

I actually have that case w/o the other crap and it's great.
Sent from my SM-N9005 beast of a phone.

Stuff I have bought......

This is the stuff I have bought for my G1.
I will post pics, to try and help anyone trying to make a decision on what to buy.
(alot of credit goes to ITSMEMORPHIUOS on youtube, He reviews iphone stuff. and through his reviews I got the confidence to buy half this stuff)
1) MOSHI case (ipouch=for iphone)= fits G1 perfect: excellent "everyday" case. Has special cloth sewn on inside that really cleans your G1. www.moshimonde.com (f**K IPHONE, had to get that out of my system). Washable, extra pocket for headphones. comes with really nice lanyard (to whip your kids with). SEVERAL LAYERS OF VERY THIN FABRIC NOT BULKY AT ALL.
2) niteize s-biner, size #1= to hang on moshi case
http://www.niteize.com/productdetail.php?category_id=29&product_id=152
3) SENA case= ULTRA slim case=, executive case REMOVED!!! NO NEED FOR COMMENTS LIKE THAT/THIS!!!!. www.senacases.com
4) SEIDIO retractable USB cable= it's ok, kind of short only 2'. really handy to carry though.
5) Cellet retractable wall charger.= travel charger, (*NOT TO SURE ABOUT THIS ONE, ONLY 500mA). BUT the car charger looks like a excellent product (but at the same time looks like a d*ck and balls????). (wish I had a car)
6) ZAGG invisible shield. OK ready, great protection, very UGLY look. DO NOT USE THE SCREEN PIECE.
---USE www.powersupportusa.com CRYSTAL FILM instead, can't even tell something is on the screen.
WHY: the Zagg gives orange peel affect (distorts image), Also you can see adhesive acts like little prisms and distorts image.
---Also I covered my wife's phone with Zagg completely and it totally takes away from the phone (women!!!).
--------SO on my phone I just used two small stripps on where the phone makes contact with a surface. much better look.
TIP: buy 70% isopropyl Rubbing alcohol from local pharmacy( will cost $1-$2 for huge bottle), same stuff that is in expensive computer screen wipes. But find good lint free cloth.
spray phone:
1) to clean
2) can apply crystal film when wet with alcohol
This is not a purchase but a great tip:
7) Piece of leather cut 4" x 6" ( and old leather jacket will do) great place to rest your phone while charging.
8) Turbo Charger= on the go, emergeny charger(uses AA)
9) AMZER 82000= cradle. ( got extra battery from t-mobile for free) still waiting for it to arrive in mail.
http://www.amzer.com/accessories-de...el=T-Mobile G1&mcid=1&category=&make=T-Mobile
10) sandisk 16 GB microsdhc = must have= works.
If you have any questions about these items, let me know, hopefully it will help you make your decision.
Oh and this is my first post with pics sorry if i F it up.
PICS are here

A bit G1 obsessive if you ask me, but I can see y, I love my phone too. But I dont think all the cases/pouches r necessary.
I didnt like the bulk of the pouch it came with. so I got the sena case, but
the sena case is very slim line and doesn't cover the phone 100% and you have to break it in to use it.
So then I ended up with the moshi pouch (black pouch), which is good to just throw around, phone slides in and out of it with ease. (the gay pink or peptol bismol one is my wife's).
I'm getting the same cradle. Do you know if the phone fits in it without removing the USb cover?
you don't have to take off the little cover there is little space for the little cover to sit within
Great, thats what I was worried about.
For the cradle can you charge the G1 and the spare battery at the same time? I was just wondering because I bought a crappy dock a while back and I could only charge the battery with the dock and had to connect a usb cable to charge the phone. Also is it hard to put the G1 in the dock or is it pretty easy. Thanks for the info man
AMZER 82000= cradle

I got mine off of ebay, from Hong Kong, so I did not have the pleasure of unboxing ( came in Manila Envelope). But saved a couple of bucks.
NO IT IS NOT EASY TO PUT PHONE IN AND OUT. if you plan on using phone alot it is not easy. but if phone just sits in one place and you have bluetooth headset then it's OK. There is nothing wrong with cradle, The problem comes in with the little door has to be opened, then lowering the phone onto little usb connector. It's great for people who have there own desk at the office.
Comes with:
1) cadle: nice build quality (for made in china cradle),has charger port, usb port and 3.5mm stereo out. fingerprint and dust magnet. but I'm happy with product.
Blue and red led indicator on front of cradle, very bright. Might have to cover at night.
BLUE: glows when charger is plugged in. even if there is no phone or battery in charger.
RED: glows when battery is charging.
2) wall charger: 1.5 AMPS, nice can charge battery and phone at same time.
3) usb cable.
more pics of cradle.............
Where did you get that cradle?? OMG, I was just tell ing my friend I needed a cradle that had a charge port AND an audio out port. That's so freaky.
Doesn't look nearly as nice as yours, but all I really want is to be able to put in in the cradle on my dresser and plug my speakers into it. WOuld this work?
http://tinyurl.com/dxfge8 ?
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2nd-Battery...|66:4|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:200
got cradle off of ebay. came from hong kong.
omg, love the cradle! I wish we had bluetooth stereo headphones capabiliy (A2D2). this would be perfect for that. I could just use it to charge my spare battery while streaming music or just get the giant 2400 mAh battery. What do you guys think?
How well does the Crystal Film screen shield fit on the g1, since it's made for the iPhone? My stock screen is getting really scratched up and I desperately need a new one, and you seem to have done your research
Also, I have been thinking about buying the cradle as well, and I have an extended battery that I use as my backup, and since the g1 won't fit on the charger with the extended battery on, I'd like to be able to place it on the extra charger, I just wanted to make sure it'd fit
I too am loving my cradle. Also wishing for Bluetooth Stereo. We'll see what this month brings I guess.
CRYSTAL FILM: was from powersupportusa.com But I don't see it on their website anymore.
It has an exact fit and is very smooth, people can't even tell i have a film on.
CRADLE: yes the extended battery fits in the back part of the cradle. the only thing is you cant close the back cover of the cradle.
You can put the phone and the extended battery (in the back part of the cradle with the cover door open) in at the same time.
Thats one spoiled-lucky G1 hahaha.
can someone post a working link to one of those cradles for me.. thanx a lot

Car Cradle

Someone is finally making a car cradle for the Touch Pro 2 that Verizon and Sprint (Not T-Mobile) should be able to use and its cheap. I emailed the U.S. seller and he said it fits though it is really for the GSM Euro versions. No surprise though as it is passive only. Heres a link to their website: http://www.buygpsnow.com/HAiCOM_Car_Mount_HTC_Touch_Pro2.aspx
Anything is better than a squeeze cradle
I have one ordered so will update a review but at $12.95 and $2.50 shipping kinda hard to go wrong even if it only lasts until Proclip gets off their duffs.
I found a coupon code for free shipping. It is hit or miss apparently but worth a try. Code is 430.
Edit: Code did not work

nice find. please let us know how it works. i have a vzw tp2 as well and have been searching for a car holder. right now it sets on my passanger seat...
Just a quick question, why do you think squeeze cradles suck?
I've not had one but was considering a universal mount from Arkon, which is a squeeze cradle.

Its been years since I've seen a phone thick enough that the jaws need to be anywhere near as deep as the vast majority of the squeeze cradles on the market yet they still make them that deep, at least the ones that are big enough to hold a PDA. This would not be much of a problem except they use soft foam in the jaws that is almost invariably also very thick. When you squeeze it tight enough to keep the phone from falling out, it has a tendency to roll the foam right down over the screen making it difficult to use things like the slide tray in Touchflo 3D. It is also difficult to remove the phone as after a short while the teeth of the jaw start wearing down and it sticks closed making the button hard to push. And thats with a good cradle like and Arkon, which is what I have been using. Lesser quality cradles are even worse. There are better squeeze cradles that address these issues but they are all for Iphones. Saw a nice one the other day with nice thin jaws and rubber grips that fit the phone perfectly with a friction lock instead of teeth and a cam but it had and Ipod cable and FM transmitter built in making it very expensive at like $69. Looked real nice too with a nice shiny finish like the phone has but at that price, wasn't going to buy something that I had to cut up to use. To bad the company did not make one with a USB cable instead. Unfortunately most of the good stuff is made by companies that drank large quantities of the Steve Jobs kool-aid years ago.

Thanks for the response, very good reasons not to go with a giant squeeze cradle.
I've been looking at this mount http://www.arkon.com/phonemount.php
Curious if anyone else has used it with the TP2.
My phone works splendidly with a $15 squeeze cradle from Walmart. It's not too thick, secure, and does not obscure the screen.
I have an old Treo 650 Pro-clip mount that works perfectly with the TP2. The phone slides in securely and comes out easily. Obviously no active connection but it works great. I put double sided tape in the back of the of the mount and it holds my Fuze perfectly as well.
yo Techitrucker,
you ever get that car cradle. i am really thinkin bout getting one, but would like to hear some first hand experience with it, especially since we both got vzw

Just came in the mail on Saturday. The cheap shipping took one week to the day. Quality of the cradle is very good. The clip at the top is actually spring loaded, not just plastic that bends back, like the Seidio holsters. It is removable if you won't need to use the cradle in landscape to make it easier to take in and out. The cut out at the bottom is definitely for the CDMA phones. It should work with the European versions also. THIS CRADLE WILL NOT WORK ON THE T-MOBILE VERSION AT ALL. It is a perfect fit for my Verizon phone. This is not a cradle you want if you need to use the keyboard while it is in. For me that is not and issue and it makes me uncomfortable having plastic wedged between my keyboard and screen anyways. Seems like it would be hard on the slider. The windshield mount is very nice. It has push button friction locks instead of screws for the joints and the rotation is spring loaded so its easy to rotate when needed one handed. The suction cup is very large and has a good positive locking mechanism. It is larger than the average suction cup so if you need a dash disk like I do, you will need the largest one you can find. Unfortunately it does not come with one. Since they are selling this so inexpensively, that probably a place they needed to cut their losses. The quality of the cradle is much higher than the price. The cradle does not use a standard mechanism to join it to the mount so you will either have to use the one it came with or go to the website and see if they have another kind of mounting solution. This is really the only limitation I can find. You will not be able to use it with your Proclip solution if you have one. Any more questions you have, just leave them in this forum.
thanks man sounds sweet. yeah i am just lookin for something to just hold my phone in the car, and this sounds great. thanks for takin the time to review. i am only a couple hours from the websites store, hope it doesn't take a week, hah. buyin one right now.
whats this proclip you are talkin about? i am new to the ppc phone genre. are they really that superior? what would you say makes em better than this cradle you just got? just curious, like hearing first hand experiences, thanks

I had one for my Touch Pro and it was nice enough but it kind of made the gap between the keyboard and phone wider over time. If you absolutely have to have the keyboard open while driving its probably the best on on the market, though to me that keyboard open is just and invitation to disaster. Its hard enough to keep hands off the phone while closed They are not inexpensive by any means. Depending on how you need to configure it you can easily spend well over a $100 bucks. The powered cradle alone without a car specific mount is $60 which is competitive with other powered solutions, but the non powered ones at $40 bucks seem more than a little like highway robbery to me especially since you will still spend $30+ on the mounting solution for the cradle. Still, if you need that keyboard open its the only decent solution at this time. They have no powered option for Verizon yet, but the non powered one they have listed for the AT&T Tilt 2 will work on Verizon and Sprint. The phones are exactly the same shape as the AT&T phone except for the ports on the bottom. If you want a fitted cradle but don't need the keyboard to open while mounted, this is the posted cradle only real solution I've found, but its inexpensive and good quality.
Now if you want the best of both worlds, I was wrong about the Proclip mounts not working with the cradle. They make absolutely the best mounting solution hands down since there is no damage to the vehicle. They have cradle adapters on the site that will make it work and the price is not to bad.
http://www.proclipusa.com/?sectionp...egoryid=&p_year=&p_countryid=0&p_leftorright=
The suction cup on the cradle is 3.25 inches and this adapter is 3.5 inches so it should work.
I'm not a fan of clamp holders or suction cups, had enough of unintentional flying objects. I usually make my own holders that slip into a vent clip from theclip.com
http://theclip.com/store/Ultra-Clip-with-Vent-Mount-p-16176.html
This time I found a perfect custom made touchpro2 holder for $1.35! It clips right into the vent clip with just a little grinding on the vent clip. It holds the phone solidly and perfectly positioned for easy phone use and GPS mapping.

Nice find on the holster. Never had a problem myself with a good suction cup holder and nothing bounces like a Freightliner. I find that taping a small vanity mirror to the dash works much better than those little round plastic disks since they where designed to stick to glass. If you have two phones and two holders like I do, the small rectangular one they sell in the automotive department at Walmart will hold both and its only 2 bucks and looks nice. I am not a fan of any kind of vent clip. The two worst enemies of electronics are heat and cold and something as heavy as a PDA is going to break the vent eventually. What I have done in the past is use something like this: http://theclip.com/store/The-Clip-Mount-p-16156.html with a holster or case.
I'm going to get the holster. Been looking for one that faces out like that.
I already have a clip in the car so won't need to take my mount with me when I get off the road.

BRODIT or PROCLIP here in the USA. They have been on the market for about 100 years. at least :-D
They make active, passive, ... versions of their mounts. For almost all available mobile devices. Great quality.

NOT TRUE.
Just spoke with porclip.
The t-mobile version has not been developed and they do not expect it to be manufactured soon.

[Q] Jogging Armband that fit HTC EVO 3D?

So twice now I've brought armband, once off Ebay and once off Cellphoneshop.net and neither of them fit. ebay one won't fit at all, the cellphoneshop.net one barely barely fit with no case on, but the cover don't really close properly and the headphone jack hole is on the wrong side!
Anyone know a good jogging armband with clear face cover that will fit the EVO 3D? preferably with a TPU case on.
Is so frustrating when seller advertise something as for our phone and its actually some generic crap!
I'll throw this out there in case it ends up working out for your. I used to try finding clear cases and arm bands but they never really worked very well and I ended up prefering the phone near my waist and running my headphones inside the back of my shirt.
It works great for my uses. I love it for jogging/working out/shooting around (basketball).
SPIbelt sells jogging belts, bands, etc.
http://www.spibelt.com/spibelt.php
http://store.spibelt.com/Waterresistantspibelt-p/7bl-a001-001-waterres.htm
It does not have a clear face. It's just a slim water resistant pouch/belt that you can order to fit your phone. I just specfied "pouch for HTC EVO" when I ordered mine.
Again it does not have a clear face and I wouldn't even say it's "easily accessible". But for holding your phone securely while being very active (I use it for jogging, lifting and shoot arounds) it is very secure. I strap it around my waist and you forget it's there.
Just thought I would throw it out.

I went through the same PITA.
Finally found this one which fits beautifully... the little holes for the headphones can be a awkward depending on your plug style/size, but other than that it is the best I've found:

I'm coming to the conclusion i need to buy the expensive armband also, but I was worry they are just more expensive version of the cheap stuff too.
Can you please let me know if the iarmbands one would work with a TPU case on? if it can then it would be perfect. as far as the headphone holes goes i'm not TOO concern, my headphones have very slim jack, and worse come to worse i can always enlarge the hole a little, as long as its in the right general location

Arkon's XL-Armband fits the Sensation. I have one with the Incipio NGP case and it fits with the case on.
We designed the armband to fit most phones with screen sizes from 3.7" - 4.3". I've tested it with the Sensation as seen above, Thunderbolt (with TPU case), Droid 3, Droid X 2 and a couple others and they fit.

Pics with the EVO 3D:
It fits a naked EVO 3D nicely, I'd say it would probably fit with a TPU case.
Got my case from iArmband today and I'mot impressed at all. The holes don't line up at all for the headphone jack, it's more of a generic size then specifically for the 3D and the arm strap is way too short.
Edit... So I received an email from iArmbands about my issues with this item. They apologized for the inconvenience and issued a full refund. They also told me to go ahead and keep the product as well...pretty outstanding customer service if you ask me.

Aluminum Bumper that does not screw together

This Aluminum bumper on eBay looks really nice and does not appear to have to be screwed together like most others. That makes it much easier to get to your SIM or SD card or pull the battery if you need to. The one I had for my note 2 looked like this but it screwed on and you didn't want to get stuck with a phone freeze and no screwdriver to remove the bumper lol

I absolutely love the way that bumper looks. But I'm always scared of what it will do to the signal levels. I once got an aluminum bumper for my iPhone 5 and it reduced the signal level by at least one bar.
Has anyone put one of these or similar on their Note 3? If so what effect did it have on the signal levels?
I wouldn't recommend, I had one of these bumper on S3, and I lost a bar signal, plus it looks okie, but holding it, it does not feel right.

signal problem
I had used aluminium bumper on my S4 and there was a signaling problem in that...no doubt the case is nice but this signal problem irritates a lot...sometimes it even hampers the wifi connections too....so its not a good experience with aluminium bumper so wont be going to take any risk with my N3....
I just got the ultra thin screw together bumper.
First thing I noticed is my SiriusXM radio cutting out.
I already live in a weak signal area, but the audiostream would never cut out.
With the bumper on it dropped out multiple times due to signal.
Its it a nice unit, but like op said you have to carry a screwdriver around if you need to take off the back cover as well.
$21 bucks down the drain. Should of known better.
I have this exact bumper, and I haven't noticed any major signal loss, not even a bar. The only thing I dont like about it is that it makes it slightly awkward using the phone with one hand.
Same product half price ($10)

Mine arrived today and they have changed it design with 2 holes on bottom right (which doesnt line up with the mic)
WiFi and phone signal so far unaffected.
It looks like it'll make it really hard to use any other microUSB 3.0 cables. Samsung's seems to be the smallest available and it looks like they designed it to fit that. The only reason the Amazon Basics Premium microUSB 3.0 cable I have works with my other cases is because they all have flexible materials around the connector/port.

I had to trim my Amazon 3.0 cable end with a razor to get it to fit... With any case I had.

I believe those are screws on the side
I have an aluminum case for my Note 3. From experience I always stay away from non-screw cases because slide cases WILL scrape away the plastic of the case sooner or later.

Screw is better imo

I have the thin case and it's really too much money for what it is. It's not going to offer much protection if you drop it. I think it's too slick also. I wish it was grippier.

How does the case compare to the phone itself,as for the grippiness?
I have one of the thin cases ordered (as well as the screen protector & Hammerhead USB earbuds),due to ship out any day now.........

It is better than the bare phone. I feel the phone itself it pretty slick. Wish the case had a little more texture to it.

I would like to see a sandstone textured case, much like the finish on OnePlus' 1+1.
I have a few cases for other phones w/the finish & it feels a lot better than a slick surface.
You don't feel the need to "power grip" your phone w/such a finish,a much better feel-in hand vs smooth cases/surfaces.

Agree completely it's seriously overpriced for a case. It's nice and all but just go for the "rugged" one people. Do the USB type C earphones have the LED the BT ones have?
Thanks guys! For me, I prefer the "office guy" case; one that's super minimal such as Peel or MNML. The biggest worry for me is scratches on the aluminum of this phone..

I have the USB type C headphones from Razer and they do have the green LEDs. They are constantly on though, unlike the BT breathing ones. :good:
The headphines
I ordered the HammerHead BTs and so far have not had any problems. The supplied ear plugs have been a good size and have been easy to keep clean. For smaller ears the spikes on them can catch the ear lobe of pushed in quite far however they sound as good as any other £100 Bluetooth in ear headphones.
The case
I've always been one to get the case from the supplier of a phone so went with the rugged case. I have always looked after my tech never even cracked or scuffed one so for me the case is for piece of mind that when input it down on a surface I won't scratch the back or camera lenses. Currently the phone is at work on my gaming mouse mat or at home on my other gaming mouse mat. If not on a mouse mat I know is clean then it's in my pocket where nothing else goes in.
Screen Protector.
I've never used on but then I have always been careful and at the back of my mind all previous phones have been apple so have had faith the screen could get replaced if needed.
Considering that I did buy the Razer screen protector but will get a friend to apply it to the phone as it's something I've tried in the past and never been 100% good at and at the £25 price tag I want it to go on without problems.
Still waiting on the case and screen protector but will let you know
The rugged case sure is imo. There's hardly anything rugged about it unless you count paint being matte?
It's not going to survive anything dropped more then 6" on anything other than carpet. ?
It's the word case, plus a top side wall, and 20-30$ more.
Really with some rugged cases would hurry up. Opting for a zippered tactile type pouch until someone produces one.

I've just requested a cancellation of my accessory order (case/screen protector/USB earbuds) :
Bad enough the cases/etc.. are overpriced, but,I get it,new phone/etc... prices drop on all of it in a couple months,if you want savings, wait a bit,but I was willing to pay the admission price of getting it now.
However,Day 5 of my 5-7 day window is here & checking the status,I'm greeted with a longer wait,6-9 business days.
Only way to contact order support is via email, which states a 24 hr. window for response.
Once you get the ticket confirmation, that window is extended to 24-48 hrs.
A real S***** way of conducting business Razer ,future purchases will be via Amazon/Microsoft/e-Bay/etc.... anywhere other than the Razer On-line store.
Ya, as my first was defective with the speaker crackle I opted to change my rma to a return. Then just bought one on Amazon.
I will say though Razer customer service is prolly slammed right now but each time I've done a live chat they've been polite, answered questions, and listened as I've reported a few bugs.
Leaps and bounds better than other places I've dealt with. (Though I'm kinda irked they haven't been pushing messages to the phones about what's up with the sound reduction from patch 1.0, or at least a Twitter update or such)

The chats are fine for tech support, but, that option doesn't exist for order inquiries, no phone call support either, just email for order inquiries.
They've essentially built a firewall for order support, to stall/buy time, it's a tactic I will not encourage, hence, my order cancelation request.

Just RMA my hammered bt kinda want the usb type c ones instead :/. Also if anyone has pictures of the rugged case both on the phone and off I'd greatly appreciate it
Possible coincidence:
After placing an order cancelation request earlier today (after Razer pushed back the processing/ship date).
They've updated the status to SHIPPED,from Hong Kong to the US, will be here tomorrow.
All's well that ends well, but, I'm still not happy regarding their email firewall regarding order support.
Will post my 2¢ review on the thin case / screen protector & Hammerhead USB-C buds tomorrow.....

Here's the rugged. Not very rugged.
Please do let us know your thoughts on the USB c buds, was eyeing those myself, really hate wires though.

I like that,but, I agree with you:
Judging by the picture, calling it a rugged case is laughable.
I may get it sometime in the future, but, I've definitely blown my accessory budget on this phone already, will wait for 'em to drop in price on Amazon....

Ya, the inside has a very thin layer of silicone or something, kinda neoprene like... The only protection I see it giving, is scratch protection and an edge, so the phone can't rest on it's screen.
I've been checking everyday, but so far the only other case is the orzly one that's the crappy silicone ones, or a purse looking foldable wallet thing.
Investigating generic bags etc for phones, or sleeves, but ya, someone needs to make a nice thick protected one that can actually handle drops.
Still awaiting my delivery of my Rugged case and Screen Protector email just saying its shipped like 15mins ago. Will give some feedback once I have them. I bought them mainly to prevent cosmetic damage to the phone from scuffs or dirt or a table when i put it down at a pub or somewhere public where I know it maybe not clean and something to keep the camera lens off the surface. so hope it manages that.
Just received my Razer Accessories moments ago:
Thin Case:
Perfect for minimal protection.
The cutouts, for the power & volume buttons, are a big welcome, especially for the power button.
1) Makes for ease of locating the buttons by feel.
2) Cutouts give an edge/lip, for your finger/thumb to rest while holding the phone with a more relaxed grip.
3) The edges are raised enough to allow for the phone to be placed face-down on a flat surface w/o any worries.
Some may wish for a bit more protection, notably @ the top & bottom, which is fully exposed. I'm pleased with the design as-is, those wanting the mentioned additional protection may want to give the OEM Razer rugged case a look.
Hammerhead USB-C earbuds:
1) Sound quality is good, hard for me to nail down, I'm not an audiophile, but, I feel safe in recommending them (FWIW they also work on my Note FE & Sony Xperia XZP, YMMV on other phones).
2) The volume rocker is nice, it's a true rocker, akin to a wall switch toggle, no searching by feel for tiny dots/arrows.
3) The earbuds are magnetized, to stick to each other while wearing not in-service, a nice touch to prevent losing & and a perfect solution to leave the carrying case at home (more on that later, )
I could do without the nuclear glow-in-the-dark LED-lit snake logo on each ear bud.
I would not have ordered these if I'd known about the glowing logos, but, it's not worth the bother of an RMA refund for me.
May try to black it out w/a permanent marker..
The provided travel pouch is nice, has a small loop for clipping/tethering to whatever.
The overall size of the travel case is not for the yoga pants/skinny-jean crowds, , of which I'm neither, perfectly acceptable for cargo pants/backpacks/etc....
Back to the more meaningful stuff regarding the audio:
As I stated, I'm not an audiophile, but, when using these with the built-in Dolby Atmos, making any adjustments to the settings seems to make no difference in sound quality whatsoever. Compared with another equalizer app & the difference is night & day, along with adjustments in the other equalizer making a difference in sound quality.
Razer/Dolby definitely has their work cut out for them, perhaps the latest update not only muted the external speakers overall volume, but, has broke Dolby Atmos in process.....
Summary:
Would I recommend the thin case:
Absolutely, however, as the name implies, minimal protection is the theme. Those wanting more protection would probably be better served with the Orzly line up ATM, at least until more mfgs step up to the plate.
The USB-C earbuds:
Yes,if for no other reason, you don't wanna chance other mfgs USB-C earbuds not working on this phone. Otherwise, save your money & use your earbuds of choice with the provided dongle.
I actually like the earbuds, especially the volume rocker, but, the neon logo on the earbuds temper my enthusiasm a bit.
Guess I'll grow my hair out a bit more & this point is moot....
