I hope I can get some help on this. I have been working on it for a while and can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the bar at the bottom of the screen while using a transparent Nav Bar. I have been messing around with the SystemUI.apk, but I feel like it's more likely the GoogleHome launcher (which seems to just put some tweaks onto the stock launcher) or even the Launcher2.apk that is formatting the wallpaper like this. I am just staring to mess with coding, so I'm not sure where the formatting is happening. Any advanced themers/coders willing to give me some advice?
P.S. I REALLY want to use the Google Home launcher and not just switch to a third party launcher like Nova. Nova launcher does get the wallpaper full screen with transparent nav bar, but it does not have the features that the Google Home launcher has.
Thanks in advance!!

How to change icons in app drawer without any launcher i am using x10 MP and ROM CM7 2.1.7, also please give some links for transparent themes like CRYSTAL....
The only way to change the icons in the app drawer is to theme each individual app and change the relevant .png file. It's a bit tedious and really only works on system apps.
I'm not sure that's actually what you want to do since you mention not having any launcher. The launcher is the app that gives you the app drawer. If you haven't got one on your phone, the only way you can run any apps is by connecting is by using a PC interface.
I'm guess what you want to do is the change the appearance of the icons on the home screen of the stock SE launcher. That's the screen with the four selectable areas in each corner. If that's what you're after then you're out of luck. Only third-party launchers (like ADW, Go, Zeam, etc) offer the ability to theme the icons on the home screen.
Transparent status bar
yes i better move to MIUI launcher....im using CM7...i have heard many things about making status bar transparent....is there any simple way to patch this....
That depends what you mean by simple..lol
In CM7 there may be an option in the settings app to do that. I don't know if there is or not as I'm using a CM7 port.
Otherwise, you need to modify the statusbar_background.9.png file inside the SystemUI.apk. Change that to transparent, but make sure not to change the pixel thick border or you'll get all sorts of problems, and that will do it.
This also depends on your launcher as some just won't accept a transparent statusbar at all.
LOL
i liked the miui launcher....but now i notice there is no miui launcher for CM7....and for the transparent status bar....let it go....something new will come up im enough happy with the CM7 rom itself....i removed all built in themes...no use for the colours inside just the desktop itself is lovely with widgets and APW....thanks for everything bro
You can get a semi-transparent status bar in Flame.GDX ICS ROM. As for a launcher? Id recommend 360 Launcher.

Hi there. using Nova launcher, very happy with it. Just one question. Is it possible to change the default icons in the scrollable area just above the home button. That orange "Contacts" icon is horrific and spoils my otherwise neat home screen. Thanks, Chris
Try This
Thanks Neville, Ill check it out.
Look for icecream in playstore I'm using nova as you and installed those icons
Agree..that orange icon is so old...

When I restored my nova settings all was good except for the app drawer icon. The acon is a green android with a white box. How do i change it to default?
weird it happened but just found a stock app drawer icon and edited it myself.
Perhaps Respected Mam/Sir,
This is to inform you that I will surely help you with this!
Now every Launcher has an Launcher Settings so you have to get into it (Mostly you are supposed to press and hold anywhere on the screen)
So assuming you got into the settings now you have to find an option about Get Icons From another launcher(or something else similar to this). So now select your default Launcher which was there when you bought your mobile.
Note- This will change your icons as it were during the Stock Launcher rest all Launcher Looks will remain the same.

Hi guys,
Apparently I'm not allowed to post in the dev forum, so I figured I would ask here. I had to get rid of the JB lockscreen because I just couldn't use it with having to unlock first and then answer the call. I have the Sense lockscreen now, but it doesn't have any of the apps, which I made sure was enabled under Personalize. The other issue I have is that the notification bar is transparent on the lockscreen, but black on the home screen. Not really a big deal, just more cosmetic. Other than that, nijitsu has done a wonderful job with this rom and I can't wait to see what future releases bring.
Thanks,
Steve
Are you using the sense launcher or nova/apex? You need to put your apps in the sense dock to show on the lockscreen.
As far a notification transparency, that's how it's built.
I assume you have it de- sensed? Only the sense Rosie launcher will support the transparent status bar.
Also that it's your problem with the lock screen shortcuts.. it pulls them from your Rosie launcher bar

Ah, I feel like such an idiot now, lol. I installed the Rosie, but I never opened it. After I took Nova off default and went into regular Sense, the lockscreen icons show up now. As far as the transparency, I think I will wait for that UKB specific mod to get updated to 1.21 and give that a try. I used another mod and it messed with using the power button to reboot (phone automatically reboots with no options).
Thanks for the quick replies guys!
widget locker solves this problem
Using in desensed with widget locker and this makes it possable to answer phone with out unlocking first, phone rings and will display the call screen.:good:
I'm using nova launcher and love having the nav bar transparent. Is there any tweak or method to male it stay transparent in apps?? Some are but many have it as black.
I don't want have to hide it and then swipe to get it back so I'm hoping there is a way.

I haven't used it myself, but maybe look into this xposed module and see if it'll have that option for you
