Hi All,
New to the forums and have been doing a bit of modifications to my Settings.apk and settings.db files thanks to all the very helpful people in the forum but I'm stuck in changing the default setting for the screen lock.
Essentially I want to stop the Swipe to unlock screen from appearing after a device restart. I have stopped the display from sleeping by modifying the "screen_off_timeout" value in the settings.db file, but that doesn't stop the lock screen from appearing after a restart.
Does anyone know where this setting would be stored? I tried changing "lockscreen.disabled" in the "secure" table to "1" but it seemed to default back to "0" after a reboot. Is this what I should be changing but am doing something wrong?
I am using a generic chinese Allwinner A31s tablet with Android 4.2.2.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I have a Mini Pro and want to change the timeout for the keyboard backlight. I have come across an entry in the X10 forum which talks about changing the parameter in the /sys/module/keyboard/parameters/brl_timeout file. The problem is that after reboot this file gets overwritten and reads 300 again. I have tried changing the permissions to make it read-only but it still doesn't work
On the X10 forum someone suggested to go to sys/devices/platform/msm_pmic_misc_led.0/ and put a 0 in the 'brightness' file and save it. However this file doesn't exist on the Mini Pro.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Bump
I would be interested too. It shouldn't be necessary to switch off the light at all since it is only 3-4 LEDs ...
I have upgraded my atrix to 2.3.6 build 4.5.141 OTA and found that the app Bluetooth file transfer can not see files on other connected device, then I go to setting\wireless\bluetooth... and found that the discoverable check box can not be ticked! If bluetooth is on, the bluetooth adress is 00:11:22:33:44:55. Is that the problem related to this 4.5.141 build? Any help is appreciated
PS I've tried the PDS partition fix before upgrade but that time not solved my problem of top part touch screen unresponsive to touch.
Hello,
I'm from Brazil and my English is not so good, so if you do not understand something, please let me know.
First you need to root access, and install the SQLite editor.
Turn off the Bluetooth, then go to SQLite editor --> search for "com.motorola.android.providers.settings" --> settings.db --> settings
*Find the line: "bluethooth_discoverable_on", this is the line 135 here.
*Change the value to “1”.
*Reboot.
Now the most important part: go to Bluetooth settings, click to check discoverable, asap click in the box below, then set the time you want, but do not press the option "Never", this is the option that is causing the problem.
If you want, you can change the value back to “0”, however nothing changes here.
Am having the same problem
Hello Jmisturini. Thank you for the advice you gave. I have folliwed the steps, but the " com.motorola.android.providers.settings" --> settings.db --> settings" is missing in the list displayed by SQLite Editor. I have recently done an upgrade. I don't know if that's why mine is mot visible. Pls advice what next I should do. Thanks.
I ported the firmware CM7.2 (from u8150) for the u8350 and noticed a strange connection between keylayout file and screen auto-rotate.
By default when system boot, the screen is stay in the standart for this device - the landscape mode, then after system complete boot and appeared "lock screen" device screen automatic changes to portrait mode and stays there forever(broken).
BUT, I accidentally discovered that if in the file "qwerty. Kl" remove or comment out the line "key 16 Q", then the auto-rotate works correctly from the start, but respectively stop work "q" key on device keyboard.
Please help me to understand the causes of this.
Is there any way to calibrate screen sensitivity? My OnePlus 6 has too much sensitive screen. Device isn't rooted yet so I tried to change sensitivity on Nexus 4. I added touch.pressure.scale=0.3 to build.prop (I checked a few different values from 0.01 to 10) and nothing changed. Also, I found touch_dev.idc file in /system/usr directory. The comment in this file says: "Input Device Calibration File for the Mako touch screen.". There are a few number parameters (like touch.pressure.scale or touch.size.scale). I tried to change them but it didn't make any effect. Of course, I rebooted device after every change.
Should I do something more to apply my changes? Or should I change values in any other places? Maybe some kernel modifications?
Hey guys,
I have a strange issue when adjusting my bootanimation.zip
the board im using is vim3l running android 9.0 and when i change my bootanimation.zip i get Process System Isn’t Responding error once android is booted and it makes my wallpaper black plus kicks me out of apps every 1minutes.
my boot logo is showing up while booting but the issue shows up once android is booted.
the only thing i adjusted was bootanimation.zip, is there any other file/folder that i need to adjust when modifying bootanimation.zip ?
* by restoring the original bootanimation.zip problem goes away and android works normally so is there another file that needs to be adjusted for the new bootanimation.zip’s file size or something related to it ?
