Hey guys!
So what the title says, In my opinion the best galaxy S3 ROM going is the Illusion Rom 2.6
Its based on Android 4.3 jellybean, has the Nova launcher on there and after some purchasing of around £3 Ive made it into the best Rom ive ever used
Get the Googy max kernel as well, its so awesome
Heres a link to the Rom, watch the video if you want, it shows how smooth and beautiful the Rom is after some tweaking ( Not twerking -_- )

best performance, infallible
Yep. Best ROM based on a buggy 4.3 release on which Samsung even halted it's rollout. Have fun
Best ROM threads are frowned upon.. It's all subjective.. what the best rom is for you will suck for someone else..

I've never had to ask this question before but I need some recommended ROMs for my Samsung Galaxy S II. I've always owned HTC phones and I understand the mods and such on HTC phones better than I do with Samsung's. I get confused with all the XXKI etc...and I don't see any overclocking at all, maybe it's just me, lol.
I'm looking for a ROM that includes overclocking and all the usual performance boosts. As for visuals, I don't mind TouchWiz (I think it's pretty nifty). I love Cyanogen but I'll wait for a stable release!
Thanks!

Which do you guys prefer on your Intl. S3 i9300?
stock because I want everything working
I've played with CM10 and loved it, but I cant have FC on daily basis and features broken
If you can live with that, CM10 is the winner. Very fast and clean
I like trains and can count to potato!
(if you haven't guessed it yet, these threads aren't allowed)
Vs threads are not really allowed. Some will say CM is better, some will say stock is better. It's very subjective. the only way to tell is try them both and decide what's better for YOU

Hey there! I'm not sure if a similar question has been asked as I could not find it.
What I wanted to know is are there any roms that keep the Samsung features such as
S-beam and smart stay etc. But give you the vanilla android experience? I have used nova prime but...
It's not quite the same. I really want the vanilla android but I don't want to lose those features as
I tend you use them often! So roms like hyper light etc. Won't work for me as it has touchwiz!
Thanks!

Hello all, I have a Samsung Korea shw-m250L cdma version and I only use it for multimedia purposes (think ipod touch) sine I cannot use the phone functions of it in my country. I want to know the best rom for me that would maximize the multimedia performance of my device. No bloatwares, no funky custom animations or themes, and no need for gps. Only for music, movies, games and wifi. Battery life is not a concern as long as it is fast. Need help asap. Thanks!
This thread will be closed very soon.

any rom will do, just choose the one you like the most and install your favourite multimedia app.
Personally i like the rom with the google look with poweramp for the music/video
Since you have a Korean model of the SGS II this thread might give you some help on getting started with custom roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097347
personally any new Jelly Bean custom Rom based on Samsung stock firmware will be perfect as most of the media capabilities are built in with everything you need.
JB Roms are very fast and smooth so win win! try looking at the latest NeatRom Lite!

Good luck!
Is the phone nicked. How can you not use the functions in your country.
Best Rom threads are not allowed as there is no such thing. What's the best rom for me sucks for the next person. It's all subjective

I bought my Galaxy S5 a couple of months ago and I still have this S2. I'm really not sure what to do with this phone. Not gonna sell it away because it is an awesome phone.
But here I'm planning: (I'm sure there are a lot of people like me, not sure what to do with their old S2 now.)
- build a media center.
But this requires sammy ROM so it could be connected to the TV using HDMI.
- try out new ROMs.
Yeah awesome idea.
- use it as an IP Camera.
- use it as an "iPod"
I have some questions regarding these choices.
1) shall I stick to sammy jellybean or upgrade to KitKat? I'm currently using kikat on this S2 but I would like to use it on the TV
2) will it have any problems if I let my S2 stick on he charger 24/7? If only I would like to use it as an IP camera. Will it have any effects on the battery/motherboard?
I hope fellow S2 members can discuss all this here. Thanks!

I am not an s2 user anymore for 1,5 years but.
1) you can stick to jellybean stock if you want it for your tv but I suggest to use a custom rom based on stock jellybean, look in the dev forums there are a couple of it.
2) I am not sure or you will have any problems but just like on a laptop and other devices its not good to let a battery charge for 24/7 so google it for sure for your own safety/phone life.
I also hope for you that other s2 member are going to discuss here with you
I dont see the point to stay on kitkat if you already have the s5. So I suggest to downgrade to an custom stock base rom since it would be also probably more bug free.
I really recommend using a custom stock rom such as neatrom for pure stability. If you prefer a little extra performance (and some new features), go with a kitkat rom such as cyanogenmod or paranoid android (and the list can go for ages).
I decided to go with JB NeatROM. Thanks for the advice guys! I find it more stable and faster as compared to KitKat. (Probably because I didn't use JB for months)
