Hi I recently replaced a screen on my tab 2 10.1 but in doing so snapped the retaing clip that held the ribbin in place. The tab works with mouse and key board but has no touch response. Can I repair the connection of the broken clip which I no longer have by soldering or by using mylan tape. All advice most welcome. Thanks in advance Plutov60

Hi!
I'd like to open my Galaxy tab 10.1 since i need to change the digitizer..
I can't open the gt without the right screwdriver. What screwdriver am I supposed to get? And where can I get it?
If I remember correctly, you don't need any fancy screwdrivers as all the screws used in the Tab are simple crosses. You do need your screwdrivers to be small enough of course.
But for replacing the digitizer, I don't think you need any screwdrivers at all. The digitizer is just glued to the front and the cable held in place by the connector on the backside of the board. All you need is something to pry the casing loose, like a plectrum You might need a small flathead one to click the digitizer connector open, but other than that nothing.
So when you changed the digitizer, you didn't take it all out of the cover? Since I have bought quite a lot of screwdrivers both triwing y0, didn't work either. But the tablet is using triwing screws..
I've now removed most of my digitizer - my problem is now that i need to remove the cable from the backside - which i need a screwdriver, to be able to get to that cable.. What should i do now?
Hi
I broke the socket - on the screen half of the tablet - where the ribbon connects to the board (see picture - the plastic part to the side is what i broke off, and i just put it there for the photo). My questions are;
is this part available, and if so what is it called?
is there an alternative way to attach the ribbon if the part is not available?
if i have to replace the whole board which board is that?
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi ,
I replaced the glass on my S3 after a small fall, but I managed to break the ribbon cable for the back/menu buttons.
How exactly do you replace this cable? Does the digitizer have to come out ?
Cheers

Hi guys I replaced the crack glass on my SGH-I757M the other day. In doing so I tore the ribbon cable to the 4 touch buttons on the bottom. I know there is software to add those on the side of the screen. I would like to replace that piece of hardware. Not sure what to call it or if it can be replaced anyone have any idea
Thanks
Hey guys. I had to replace the digitizer on my wife's galaxy tab 4 10.1 thanks to the baby grabbing it and tossing it. When I replaced the screen, I was putting the ribbon cable back in and when I went to close the locking clip, it broke in two. before this happened, I tested the screen and the soft touch keys weren't working, which is the reason for the broken tab(I had to remove the screen to try and clean the contacts.) So, Now I am left with a digitizer that doesn't work and I'm not sure if it's due to this broken clip on the ribbon cable or if the screen was screwed out of the box. Does this clip allow for contact or just to secure the digitizers ribbon cable?
