Hi guys I replaced the crack glass on my SGH-I757M the other day. In doing so I tore the ribbon cable to the 4 touch buttons on the bottom. I know there is software to add those on the side of the screen. I would like to replace that piece of hardware. Not sure what to call it or if it can be replaced anyone have any idea
Thanks

After doing some searching it looks like the power button is part of the housing.
Here is a link to a site that sells the full housing assembly. Best I could come up with hope it helps.
its the volume up button, the plastic thing on top of it.
OMG I looked for like a half hour last night for the "power button" LoL
Don't know what the hell I was thinking you clearly stated volume. I go back through some sites I found last night and see if I can find it.

Edit
Sorry man no luck could not find it any where.
The volume buttons are part of the main flex.
So if the connector is broken (the little copper thing) you must change the entire flex cable.
My Aria has the same problem, though I'm looking for a way to get at least one of the buttons to work without having to buy a whole new ribbon. Because it's kind of hard to get into recovery mode when the button doesn't work. Tried pressing them with various types of metal, including copper, hoping to maybe get some sort of connection out of it, but to no avail. Any one else have any suggestions?
basically, my TB still works fine.. just the 4 keys at the bottom no longer light up and the bottom left corner of the screen has discoloration issues.
I've already opened up the phone for the hell of it and for the most part see that there's 2 main parts. the back with the mainboard, cpu, etc attached... and then the front that's the screen/digitizer.
is this kit all I need to replace the front piece?
http://www.amazon.com/Verizon-HTC-Thunderbolt-Digitizer-Engraving/dp/B004ULQH34
i'd rather just detach the 2 main cables connecting both parts of the phone together and simply swap out the front piece.
is it that simple with this kit?.. if not, is there another kit that is? link?
thanks
EDIT: apparently I need the screen + digitizer combo, like this

that being the case, I answered my own question. now to just find a kit like that as inexpensive as possible.
Here you go about $60 total

Hello,
I seriously need help.
I replaced the glass of my s3 and, I think I did a pretty darned good job. But I have a problem. My return and menu buttons don't respond to touch, they light up though.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with the ribbon. Does anyone know if the ribbon relays touch or is that the glass/digitizer. I was of the impression that the ribbon is simply a light transmitter.
Anyways Help please, I'm not sure what I did wrong it looks great, I took the glass off and pushed the ribbon buttons (using the black square adhesive that came with the ribbon - should I remove it - ) to stick them to the areas of the glass that would need the light. To make sure they were flush and had contact to the glass.

Are the button functions controlled by the flex cable behind the glass or is that built into the digitizer glass? I've got a phone that was brought in for repairs and the menu button works, but when you hit the back button it registers it as the menu button being pressed. I replaced the digitizer glass lcd assembly, I did not replace the frame or home button sensor cable. Trying to figure out if I need a whole new assembly or if I just need the home button sensor cable.

Hey guys. I had to replace the digitizer on my wife's galaxy tab 4 10.1 thanks to the baby grabbing it and tossing it. When I replaced the screen, I was putting the ribbon cable back in and when I went to close the locking clip, it broke in two. before this happened, I tested the screen and the soft touch keys weren't working, which is the reason for the broken tab(I had to remove the screen to try and clean the contacts.) So, Now I am left with a digitizer that doesn't work and I'm not sure if it's due to this broken clip on the ribbon cable or if the screen was screwed out of the box. Does this clip allow for contact or just to secure the digitizers ribbon cable?
