Hey everyone,
I unlocked my bootloader 2 days ago and reflash everything from scratch.Today, I restored my camera fv5 and noticed that the noise level is incredibly high as compared to previously. (Both firmware before and after is .257)
Did anyone encountered this ?
Nope, my camera is still bad

Both you guys crack me up!
Yeah the camera is average.
Unlocking the blootloader should not effect the ultra at all. No keys stored in the TA partition are used in the stock camera app. Well.. actually that's not entirelly correct. The keys are read but only when you want to preview an image. I'm assuming that that's the x-reality engine kicking in... I haven't looked any further than that. but it should not make a difference.
so does our camera is not useable?

This phone is great except for two things: one is the locked bootloader (I think that's already fixed) and the other is that this camera is the worst I've ever had on any phone. Does anyone know any settings/apps/scripts/zip files to improve photo/video quality? I guess the speaker is rather quiet too but that's not too big of a problem

You should try reading through the subforms, considering you only "think" that the bootloader has been unlocked (by devs).
There's a guide on how to unlock the bootloader only a few topics below me. Regardless, there's no topics on pictures

Theres already a topic for pictures here in the General section of AT&T LGOG

I've noticed setting the shot to "Night Mode" does help when using flash in the dark.. gets rid of the ugly yellowish tint.
I'm also very interested in finding if there's an app that will improve the photos on this phone. It's the only bad thing about it for me. I couldn't find anything useful on these forums.

Smart Shutter
Switch Camera Mode to Smart Shutter. This takes better pics, and the responsiveness is way faster.
Still trying to figure out a way to have that is the default setting.
Do you hear there's a mechanical clicking sound when you shake your phone? Is tat normal or mind has some defects?

Lol you def have a defect. I would take it back to the store and get a new one. In the meantime. Don't shake the phone.
Re: Modern Combat 4 working for anyone?
It's the back camera lense. Good luck finding one that doesn't make noise

Sorry if I sounds stupid, just want to make sure it's not a defect so I can unlock my bootloader.

Looks like we're the same.. Isnt that an issue for a 8mp camera? Its grainy/blurry..
Sent from my SGP311 using xda app-developers app
Hey man, of course it gets grainier in low light environment!
Go outside in the sun and make a photo there. It will not be grainy.
As there is no flash or photo light, this behavior is totally normal. You will have to live with it.
Oops, forgot to tell that i also took a photo outside, which is sunny, and the photo is still not clear(grainy\blurry)..

here are some pictures taken with my nexus 4 (also an 8 mp camera)
Use normal mode instead of superior auto and setup the camera yourself and dont use hdr then see what the quality is like. You might notice that without using those options the camera uses the full 8MP.

The cameras only real useful use is to Skype etc.
If you need a good camera then you will have to buy one.

Honestly, the camera on this thing is nowhere as good as I thought it would be...not a dealbreaker as I don't use a tablet to take pictures almost ever but still expected more.

If you notice that your leg is clear and the rest of the picture is grainy then it indicates that the camera focused on your leg, not the things in the background. Keep things close out of the picture so it can auto focus on what you want in the picture.

don't use superior auto, and set the iso as low as possible. Also try different camera apps like fv-5 or "a better camera"
I pay fv -5 and I don't have better camera, that is the same.
this is the camera software error; think that will be fixed in an upgrade?

Well for me, indoors with poor lighting conditions will produce same results as yours whatever app your using...but outdoors with good lighting will make decent result...enough to make you satisfied...but if you change to normal and set scenery to night or night portrait, you will see different results...the same if you fiddle with the settings...
But the thing is, z ultra is known to bad camera...don't you know that...

Research before buying is the keywords here. Why don't people do that with the ease of the internet? It's beyond my understanding.
All that buys a Z Ultra know they will get a crappy camera. There is nothing wrong with your camera.
Software can only do so much. It's the hardware that's crappy.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the 'loudspeaker' is made up of both the top and bottom speakers for stereo? What I am implying is that while using the loudspeaker for music/YouTube, the speaker at the top of the handset has a weaker sound that the one at bottom. It does not carry as much bass and is noticeably quieter.
This seems odd because i dont have this issue
Is it the same in different modes, landscape/portrait

Ok I have received a replacement Z2 today and it has exactly the same issue. When playing music/videos/games, the speaker at the top is noticeably quieter and provides a lower quality sound.
Maybe this is a software problem? The two devices I have had are on 17.1.A.2.55 but I have seen in the General section there is a newer firmware than this.
Can @LotoTutu @Envious_Data and @Alex Charles confirm what version your're using? Thanks!

im on 17.1.A.2.55 too, i dont have any issues, the only issue i have ran into with my XZ2 is a random lag ever so often, but this only occours when i have 3 or more apps open,
(I Believe this is a RNGD/Entropy)
Misc info
i believe then new firmware is 17.1.A.69 which contains some minor bug fixes and stuff, im not sure about the details of it realy so i cant tell much realy
the Speaker issue we have here i cant tell if its a Firmware or Hardware, i kinda need to test some more,
ill be getting a second XZ2 so ill be able to test weather this is a HW or a Firmware issue unless someone else can conform

I have the exact same problem! The top speaker is more quiet and sounds more "muffled" than the bottom speaker.
Best way to test is test file like this http://www.testmyspeakers.com/speaker-test.mp3 (this plays left, right then both)
Because some songs records in a way one side for base

i tried this link and my bell unit has the same issue. it is not drastic, but there is a slight difference in volume with the bottom speaker being louder. i noticed this today when listening to a podcast when i accidentally covered the bottom speaker and noticed that the sound dropped quite a bit. the difference was not as noticeable with this link though. i am on the .55 firmware, can anyone with .69 confirm that their unit works differently?
