Hey.
There are instructions on the temasek's unofficial cm11 page:

I think these are the best steps:
1) First make sure that Clockworkmod Recovery in installed. If no then first go install clockworkmod recovery on Samsung galaxy S3
2) Download the CM10.2 & GApps zip from above link.
3) Place those zip on to your SD CARD.
4) Boot into CWM Recovery mode.
5) Select Install Zip from sd card >
6)Choose zip from sdcard.
7) Now first install the CM10.2 zip from sdcard.
8) Then install GApps zip from sdcard.
9) Now back to Main recovery menu & select Wips data/factory reset. (MUST)
10) Select Reboot
or you coud just download an app for installing cyanogenmod from their web page

Firstly here's a video demonstrating how to flash a rom:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVwiiSStuSQ
Installation Instructions:
BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!
Download the rom zip (don't rename it!)
Put the downloaded zip file on your internal sdcard
Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (don't do this from rom manager, it won't work)
Might need to wipe data and cache and dalvik cache (read the devs instructions)
Select Install zip from sdcard
Select Browse for zip on sdcard
Select the zip file you put on your sdcard above
(Let it flash)
and next time search for the threads instead of creating a new one, because the admins will most probably delete it lol.
Reboot, Enjoy!
Thanks thanks!

Check and see if you have clockworkmod folder on internal if that is there then check the backup folder and see if there is anything in there... Now I wouldn't suggest going back to the backup but you can download Virtuous rom which is close to stock and install it instead
If its just the Google apps you need then just flash a gapps package in clockwork mod, which is probably already installed if you have cm9
My problem is not only I lost all the Asus software (eg Polaris Office), but also he ability to install everything through the google play. My device is not recognized in the play web site and I have to install first the google apps!

thx for the reply first of all!
Is not possible to just download the firmwares from the Asus site and install them?
If yes how can I do this?
Flashing stock rom from asus will result in unrecoverable brick. However you can flash this if you want to get as close to stock as possible you can flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674827

Download this zip file(Almost stock) [dl dropbox com/u/27023946/AlmostStock_9.4.2.21.zip"] to your internal SD-card preferably in the Download folder.
Then go to your ClockWork Mod recovery or TWRP recovery. Wipe Dalvik cache and Factory Reset and then Install zip from SD-card. Choose the zip you placed in the download folder and click yes.
After a while you can Reboot to System. That's it! Good as new.
Hi,
thank you for all the replies.
I see u have suggested two roms:
1) AlmostStock_9.4.2.21.zip
2) AndroWook Prime Stock Rooted ICS 9.4.2.21
Any reason to prefer the one over the other?
Regards

So you're not stuck in a bootloop, but it boots recovery every time you restart? I can send you a .zip to flash that will get you out of the bootloop - can you push files to the internal sd card?
You bought this used? Whoever sold it to you really should have flashed gApps along with CM9, if you can't get it to work, I would contact him/her and ask to have it fixed if you can't do it yourself. That's a pretty bad way to sell a used product! Sorry, good luck.

Sorry, I am new to all of this. I recently just rooted my t959 and it is running on 2.2. I've been looking for tuts on how to update to Slim Bean 4.1.2, but haven't found any. I also don't understand the OP instructions.
Upgrading Slim Bean
Unless we specify otherwise in changelog
Reboot to recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache then just flash your device zip. If you were with SlimBean 2.7 or newer you are done, all your addons will be backed up.
If you are on an earlier SlimBean version then 2.7 please flash also all the addons you need. Reboot.
From Froyo/GB Rom to SlimBean
Get yourself booted with cm9 or cm10. then follow the steps "From another JB or ICS ROM"
From another JB or ICS Rom to SlimBean
Download device_x.x.zip, slim_gapps.zip.
Enter CWM, wipe data, format system ( in mounts and storage)
Flash Device_x.x.zip***, then MUST flash slim_gapps.zip (other files optional)
*** - If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash device before flashing common or other zip files.

Since SlimBean is based off CyanogenMod 9/10 and needs alot of the kernel/firmware flashes, you must flash CM 10 or 9 before flashign Slim Bean.
The easiest way to do this is through ClockworkMod Recovery and the easiest way to get ClockworkMod installed is through ROM Manager.
1. Download ROM Manager through Play Store
2. Open up ROM Manager and select the first option "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"
3. Download CyanogenMod 10 and the latest Slim Bean which should be version 2.8
4. Reboot into recovery through the option in ROM Manager
5. Clear data, cache, and Dalvik cache.
6. Install ZIP from SD Card > Choose ZIP from SD Card > Pick CyanogenMod 10 FIRST
7. Let it flash all the way through and then reboot your phone when you are back at the recovery menu
8. Boot into CyanogenMod 10 ROM and play around to make sure everything is working and good
9. Go into Play Store and install ROM Manager again
10. This time, just boot into recovery. No need to reflash ClockworkMod since you already have it.
11. Clear data, cache, and Dalvik cache.
12. Install ZIP from SD Card > Choose ZIP from SD Card > Pick SlimBeanT959 rom this time
13. Reboot into SlimBean to make sure everything works. If so, go back into recovery and flash the Slim Gapps and whatever else you may want to use.
Good luck and enjoy SlimBean.

Hey guys,
I am completely new to this whole topic so I read several hours and finally came up with a plan for what to do to install omega when my Galaxy S3 i9300 (my first android phone) will arrive tomorrow.
If you spot any mistakes I would make (also in the files I plan on using), please correct me!
1. Upgrading to Jellybean with Kies
2. Installing CWM (File name is CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5 - It's a .tar) via Odin 3.0.4 in download mode- I think I know how to do that
3. Rebooting in Recovery mode and creating a Backup File with CWM - I think I know how to do that
4. Saving the Backup file from the clockworkmod\backup folder on my PC
5. Rebooting in recovery mode and wiping data, cache and dalvik cache - I think I know how to do that
5. Copying the .zip file of Omega to (a folder called root??) internal SD-Card folder of the Galaxy S3 (File name is I9300_Omega_v31_XXDLJ4_Jelly_Bean)
6. Rebooting in recovery mode again and selecting “install zip from SD card” to install the Omega zip
7. Customize like a boss
done
(optional)
8. Realize something doesn't work properly and spam the forums with QQ threads OR Realize I bricked my brand new phone and cry furiously
Thanks in advance for letting me know if my plan needs adjustment

YES
Fails to boot first time one it make take a while for first boot boot stuck recovery and factory reset .

Flash recovery
Do factory reset, than wipe dalvik.
Than flash Omega.
Finally reboot and enjoy
But I'm recommending InsertCoin, because it is easy theamble with better themes, very stable (still haves some problems, but reboot solves them), mostly no lags, good memory managing.

Hey,
thanks for your answer! I have to install jellybean first if I want to install a ROM for Jellybean, right? So I guess that's not explicitly in the instructions but it's still a requirement?? Or does Omega install Jellybean itself?
I am really not sure, but I think I have to install Jellybean first.

(For other beginners: I put the Omega zip file on an external sd card, not sure if it works with the internal one. Works without upgrading to Jellybean first.)
