Im in Canada. If i purchase a used phone with a bad IMIE and old firmware from the States (sprint) once on my carrier in Canada (bell) will the firmware get updated. I have checked the IMIE with my Bell they said its ok.

I just purchased a S7 on kijiji and when i check the imei on the internet, it says the model is SM-G930W8 but on the box and in the phone settings it says model SM-G930P.
Which one to believe ?

i have note 8 with model Number SM-N950U NOT SM-N950U1
and firmware SM-N950USQU1AQH7
but im not sure if its locked or not ? also there is bloatware and when the phone boots there is no carrier logo
2nd question will it work when i travel outside the US ?

You need to get the rest of the model number .. US models are:
SM-N950UZKAXAA - Unlocked
SM-N950UZKAATT - AT&T
SM-N950UZKATMB - T-Mobile
SM-N950UZKASPR - Sprint
SM-N950UZKAVZW - Verizon
SM-N950UZKAUSC - US Cellular

If you have the original box that the phone comes in.. the full model number will be on the label attached to the box .. along with serial # and IMEI #

Since the phone is T-Mobile and the Orchid Gray model .. I would suspect the model # to be SM-N950UZVATMB

Hi all ..
I bought used phone note 3 4G .
I just checked model number 9005 from device info and network type LTE from network ..
Now I want to upgrade my ROM but I am confused because I saw in pre-installed app " Idoneapp " different information the model is 9005 but hardware.dvice and bootloader are 900p.
I am already download ROM for 9005 but I fear that my phone dead if it wrong rom. .
So please tell me what is my real phone model ?
My gut tells me follow your bootloader.

Yes. If unlocked. The modem is set for GSM/LTE frequencies that T-Mobile uses. Try the SIM card from that country with the T-Mobile unlocked Note 8 device. If you need different frequency then check Xda for modem firmware for that carrier to flash.
