Ok, so I know this is a hugely personal thing, but, will you keep Touchwiz or use a custom launcher?
Personally, I don't like the look of Touchwiz at all. With that in mind one of the great ICS launchers (Nova and Apex) should seem like an easy decision!?
The thing is I am not sure how many of the new features you may lose out on by giving up on Touchwiz... will features like SmartAlert and SmartStay still work?

I as well will be changing the launcher. Yes, your extra Touchwiz like features will remain (ie SmartStay, SmartAlert, and the redesigned apps such messaging and the settings and the drop down notification shade) as those are baked into the firmware. The only you thing you might (and probably WILL) be losing are your Touchwiz widgets and from past experience with them that's not a deal breaker at all.
I will say one thing as someone who's deciding between the HOX and the SGSIII that I'm a bit disappointed that Touchwiz hasn't matured quite the same way that Sense has. Sense just plain looks nicer and you can clearly see the ICS undertones. I feel like ICS has been buried beneath Touchwiz. And I don't like that :-(

I always use Go Launcher EX on any of my phones
In all honesty I'll either stick with touchwiz or use spb shell 3d which I already have on my tablet.

Depends on if it finally able to sort apps by alphabetical order.

+1000 GoEx on all our devices.
Nova launcher ftw
sent a 96gb N7000
I've used various launchers but nothing covers up Touch wiz completely, which is why I use custom roms.

So what elements of touchwiz remain after changing launcher?

none. unless he means the theme itself.
I used a custom launcher on my S2. However looking at Touchwiz on the S3, I quite like it. It looks alot nicer.
I`ll probably keep it until I want more options and theming.

I think that's exactly it. I am judging it before I have had time with it. My new approach will be to keep it until I don't like it!
Depends on two factors:
1. How good the tw widgets are (some of them are good!)
2. Whether I need more ram (tw is a memory hog), and whether tw is butter smooth (I'm guessing this iteration is!).

i never put a custom gb rom on my gs2, but i have put the att leak and now aokp on it. i have less memory now than i did with stock att plus tw. my experiences may very well vary from others.

Tell me, where is the ICS part in the new Sense?

Likewise. TW will be the very first thing I change when setting up my phone and will be replaced with Go Launcher EX lol
If the phone shows zero signs of lag - I will likely keep the stock launcher. Just rooted to ditch bloat apps.
touch wiz launcher is just a part of all the software customizations packed. if you replace the laucher you will still have the rest of touch wiz package like music player, radio etc etc

At last someone who knows what they are on about!
@all.......Touchwiz is the whole ui interface, not just the launcher, and it sucks if you have ever been on a CM ROM

Anyone know how to get the TouchWiz Weather, S-Task and S-Calendar Widget working in Nova Launcher?
Downloaded the paid version and I'd really like to get these working on Nova.

You can't. They are built into the TouchWiz frame work. You'll have to choose, Nova or TouchWiz. There are alternatives to get very close to what you are looking for in widgets but will require more $ from your wallet.

Sorry. I know how you feel though. I wish all the handset makers would just make thier "skins/launchers" on the playstore and then let us decide what we want to use and even pay a few pennies for them. But what do I know.

I agree, Stick with the Stock Android Interface and design widgets for that. Then we can pick and choose what we want.
Can't even enable the stock Android UI on the phone.
Hello there. I wonder if there app available to sort application by name in Optimus UI launcher? Like Appzorter for Touchwiz.
I'd rather not install another launcher, but if that's the only way, I'm open to suggestion. In the past I use Go Launcher, but feel it quite "heavy" on system resources (on my old Galaxy Ace).

You can sort it manually. Otherwise you will have to use another launcher.

That is my biggest annoyance with the LG launcher.
Bummer.
Right now I'm using Nova Launcher with Touchwiz theme I feel it quite fast. For weather I'm using Yahoo! Weather. Still trying to find free calendar widget like one built in.
Em, right touch button and reset, I think it will sort app by name.

That does sort them. It sorts alphabetically the built in apps first. Then after that alphabetically the downloaded apps.
It is a little better, but it would be nice to have all of them mixed together in alphabetical order. Can't have everything we want.
is there an app for android like this one?

sorry to say (this is my opinion) that app is pure crud! basically it's trying to add widgets / multi window(ish) functionality to the home screen of a sh(I)te phone! just to be like an Android phone! we already have widgets and multi window that do those things. i personally wouldn't see a benefit!
Pretty sure i've seen a launcher doing something close to this (sorry can't remember it's name, but im sure it came from the playstore, so maybe try some from there) but, pretty much this:

why would you want to run apps in half of what's already a "small" screen?
Hi guys, because in the S6 edge I can't order my apps alphabetically I gave Apex launcher a try...I quite like it, its better than touchwiz in a lot of ways. But...I cant find a way to have the S Planner widget running? It's one of the few Samsung widgets that I use all the time.
I know there are third party alternative's as I've tested a few, but I'd rather use the S Planner widget as I prefer it.
Is it possible to have this widget running on Apex launcher for our phones?
Thanks, Pete.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll have to go back to touchwiz and wait for a firmware update.
