Hi everbody.
I have Sensation with Android 2.3.5 right now. And there is a problem I couldn't solve and find any solution about it.
Some of my musics don't show up on library no matter which music player I use. These songs don't have any particular property that can cause it. Half of the songs of same album or different bitrates or same bitrates or same tags or different tags. It's just mixed at all.
I can see and play these songs using file explorers.
Different roms don't change anything either. Sense or CM.
Deleting and copying music files again or tagging again didn't solve.
Formatting SD card didn't solve.
Deleting cache of MediaProvider.apk didn't solve.
Changing file manes or folder didn't solve.
I use cover art downloader to refresh mediastore everytime but it doesn't stick.
I'm tired of it.
I'm open to the ideas...
What is the format of your songs that can't play normally?

I don't have this problem. I have up to 22mb mp3, 512kbps bitrate, mp3 or flac format.. btw, I use Google music.
If you try to search the music using search option in music app, will it work?

Mines are V0 Mp3 and their size are up to 15 MB. Average is 8 MB. Totally 1567 songs.
Search can't find them either because they're not included in library.
Btw, there are people who have that problem on the net. Even on Google forums(I don't know exact name) after long conversations still no solution as far as I read.
So no one has any clue?

Tried an hour ago, it added the missing songs to the library. Just came back to check if it's still ok but no luck. They dissapeared again.
unfortunatly I am kinda having same problem but I think mine is a bit more irritating. ever since I updated to gingerbread on my thunderbolt all and I mean all my music was misscatigorized, band names changed ,song names changed. it appears that the only ones that didnt change were one that had all info even album art. even newly downloaded songs are misscatagorized. im considering deleting the stock player all together . who the hell has the time to go threw and re name everything or re download .

I've got some songs in an album. But my favourite music player doesn't seem to be detecting them as all coming from the same album. So i've got 2 albums now...
I used id3fixer app and it fixed great an album for me, but not this one.
How can i fix this?

Do you want to fix this directly from your phone or PC? (i'll tell you what i use for both anyway ) I always change my ID3 tags on my lappy with mp3tag, works like a charm.
when i have had wry music tags on my phone, i've used iTag - music tag editor from the play store.
R: MP3 tags - hella annoying!

I can't try with my pc cuz it's graphics card got wasted the otha day (far cry 3 killed it :sniff and im waiting for a new one.

Is that the file name or the ID3 tag? Change both if you have to. For me i categorize my tunes with a bracket system, ie: (Albums) , (Dance) , (HipHop).
Also for me the actual file name is more important and most players will read that first if you tell it to.

I just discovered....all players using android libraries for playing music (double twist included) cant read that file not being associated with all others (vlc does read it thou)...')could that be why?

I am a user of Google Music All Access service (i wont explain how i got it to work outside the US) and the app automatically downloads songs i add to my libarary for offline usage.
The songs are in data/data/com.google.android.music
However despite the full size and valid extension they cannot be played in any other app then Google Play (not even when i transfer them to the PC)
ARE they encrypted? If so how to fix this?

They are most probably encrypted to stop piracy.

There is no way to decrypt them at this time, but you can always plug in your phone to your PC with a 3,5 audio cable from headphone jack on phone to microphone jack on PC. Then record each song with like sound recorder or Audacity.
Bump on this - It has been almost a year, and the service is now rolling out in Canada and other. Somebody must have looked into this?

Obviously not. Because this enables piracy, and we all know XDA doesn't condone that.
I can't test it at the minute but I'm fairly certain that if you log into Google Play Music on a PC, there is an option to download the individual tracks as MP3's. I think it allows you to do it 2 or 3 times per track.
Why not just do that instead of worrying about decrypting music on your phone?

Open chrome > new tab Incognito > enable desktopmode > visit the play music site> login to your google account> locate the purchased song and download( you can only download 2 times through the web).

To answer your question currently no because the youths app needs to be open to play the video or it will just pause. But if multiwindow feature gets working well once its out of beta than maybe. Look at the options provided above for another choice.

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a nice simple app where I can customize the shuffle for the music in my phone. Most of the apps I've tried only let me shuffle the entire library, or the all the albums for an artist, or only one album. I want an app where I can select which albums I want to add to the shuffle list. It's something really simple, but I can't find any app where I can do that. Do you you know any? Thanks.
Create a playlist and add the albums / songs you want. Load the playlist and enable shuffling. This can be done in any music player.

Thanks, but that's exactly what I don't want to do. I want to be able to select different items quickly, not having to create a new playlist each time.
