[Q] droid dna pin locked help - HTC Droid DNA

I have been able to do hard resets on droids before. This droid HTC DNA I cannot get it to HARD reset at all. Ive read a few sites, even information on HTC's website, youtube videos.
holding vol down and power does nothing but boot the phone normally and then prompts for a (forgotten') pin lock screen
Does anyone know the for sure how to do a hard reset on DROID DNA? the factory reset menu never comes on. the vol up and down keys work fine.

Hold down power. The buttons should blink. This will hard reboot the device. Once it shuts off, hold down volume also. This should send you to the hboot screen where factory reset option is available.
Be sure not to hold down volume - until the phone hard reboots.

I hold down power it gives me the 3 seconds countdown until restart, screen goes black after 3 seconds but its still booted never restarted. (im guessing this phone has fastboot enabled and I cannot disable it because pin lock is on)

Odd, I have fast boot enabled on Viper and did what I mentioned with no issues.
Edit: are you still holding power down after screen shuts off and then pressing vol down also?

Can you do adb reboot bootloader?

just press and hold volume down and power for ten seconds or until it boots into hboot and if you are going straight to fastboot unplug from a usb cable and select bootloader

(Q) I know this is a dumb question but how do I boot into my bootloader?

hold down volume + power when the phone is totally shut down
There are a couple ways:
1) Uncheck fastboot in menu>settings>power. Then turn phone off. Hold vol down and power up.
2.) Restart the phone. Once the LEDs go out when phone shuts down, hold vol down.

How do I Reset to factory Stuck in FC

First off beware of ADW launcher on this phone when I restarted it forced closes and won't let me get into the phone. Now how do I factory restore when I can't get into settings? Ok Now I have gotten into fast boot screen by holding down the down volum arrow and pawer but then it says device locked and plug in USB cable.
So no mene screen appears as I read is supposed to.
Vol up and down plus power. Use vol down to get to recovery then select with vol up. Then press vol up and down to bring up menu. Just a guess. Its how the bionic is

Your guess is indeed correct

Evo lte is stuck in lock screen, feeling withdrawal symptoms already

ok so I'm new to this forum, was suggested to go here when i got my first smartphone.
So basically my idiot friends were messing with my phone with the pattern lock. They messed it up 15 times and now I have to sign in with my gmail. But the problem is that whenever I try to sign in, it gives me invalid username/password. I know I'm putting in the right password and right username because I've done it about a million times on my computer and tried to unlock my phone about the same amount of times. I've also tried all my other gmails that my phone is registered with but none work.
I'm still on stock ICS because im new to the android world and haven't gotten around to figuring out everything. Thanks for helping!
Okay first did you possibly have your Android debugging on? If not the only way us a factory reset. You can reset it by turning it off, hold down power and volume down. While holding volume down let go of the power. Then using your volume keys select factory reset and select with the power button.

Okay so first press down the Vol. Down button. Next press the power button firmly for 3 seconds. DO NOT let go of the Volume down button till a white screen (Your bootloader) appears. Then use the volume buttons to select factory reset (If it's not there look for bootloader or somthing like that) press the power button to select.
Volia your phone is now factory reset!

Is there a way to force a reset without pulling the battery?

On my previous HTC EVO 4G when things when wrong (e.g. stuck in a boot loop) I could pull out the battery and then go into recovery (holding power button wouldn't work). Since you can't easily access the battery on this does anyone have a way that you could force it off in case something like this happens? Thanks

power button and both volume up and down for about 10 secs.
Another is power and vol down for 10 secs, then when the phone shuts off, let go of the power for one sec, then hold again. That takes you to the bootloader which you can get to recovery from

That works too but you get a screenshot in the process.
If you just want to force power off the phone, you can hold just the power button for ~8 seconds.

[Q] Won't Boot Into Recovery

EDIT 2: FIXED, thank you Checkm8!
---
Original Question:
My phone won't boot into recovery by using the manual method. I can boot into it no problem using GooManager to tell the phone to reboot into recovery, but no by powering off my phone, then holding down the power button and volume up. The phone'll vibrate and say "RECOVERY BOOTING" in blue in the upper left, but the screen will just go black and the phone will boot normally after 2 seconds.
This isn't a big problem by itself, but my phone also seems to have a problem with wiping system on its own or something, because multiple times of rebooting my phone just to reboot, the phone won't boot at all. It'll just stay at the "Galaxy S4" splash screen.
EDIT: Flashing to complete stock using Odin doesn't fix the recovery issue, tried it multiple times.
I had a similar issue but it was my fault. I figured out later hold (in this order) volume up, home, and power buttons. Once the phone vibrates, let go of the power button but continue holding the other two until you see "Recovery Booting". Let me know if that works for you.

You are correct sir.... Its not like the S3 that you had to hold all 3 buttons until you saw "Recovery Booting"..

Thanks, that got it to boot into recovery! But now it's just sitting at the "teamwin" screen and has been for the past 5 minutes... I'm going to assume that it's a one time thing and carry on with my life regardless. but now I know how to boot int orecovery the right way! I had gotten it to boot when i first got the phone a few times but I guess I had since started doing it incorrectly.
