Would anyone happened to have the package or cab preferably for video share from the newest 5.11 att release? As well, does anyone have it working not using the att stock rom and using the tachi dialer instead of att's dialer? thanks.
edit** after i thought about it, maybe shouldve put this in the software thread?????
Is there any way to get traditional video calling in our xperia phones(like galaxy s)...?
Nope, Android doesn't have support for it, so it isn't possible yet.
Only possibility is via an app, that both sides need to have.
But Galaxy S has the videocall, so why it's so impossible to have the umts videocall in android?
Maybe there was some app used to make video call?
Mate, we are talking of native umts videocalling, not ip one like gtalk or skype...
will porting the dialer and telephony provider app from galaxy s would make it possible...?

I'm not sure, but it will require specific modules and drivers also to use the front camera.
what a shame! the issue was opened in android in 2010 but yet not fixed..
only samsung managed to add this feature to their fone which is natively supported by all 3g supporting front cam feature fones..
and strangely no developer has yet ported it from samsung
I'm hoping this is the right place to post this.
I've just got a new Galaxy S3 and am loving it so far, but there's just one thing I'm wondering if any dev's could help with. I came from an older HTC Desire I'd rooted and was running Sandvold's ICS Beta ROM on and one of the things I really liked was being able to apply a modded MMS.apk that stopped the stock messaging app from converting a text message into an mms after 3 text messages worth of characters. I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here that's willing to create a modded version of the S3's stock messaging apk (I believe it's called SecMms.apk?) that is able to be installed on a stock S3? I'd rather hold off on rooting my new phone for a while, that's all, and it gets a little annoying when I try typing a long text message and it converts to an mms.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Hello, I am currently running CM 10.2.0-RC1-d2vzm on my verizon galaxy s3 and I love it. It is even better now that hangouts 2.0 came out and it is supporting group message since I am in school and I use this option a lot. The only issue i am having is that gifs are not working. When someone sends me a gif it appears as a still picture. However, I tried sending myself a gif and as the sender I can see the gif image moving but as the receiver (remember i sent it to myself) the gif comes out as a still picture. If anyone has any idea of how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
(p.s. i would love this problem to be fixed b/c i can't stand hearing my friends tell me that their iphones are better just b/c their gifs work. Yeah right!)
Do you have I9300 ??
I have the H850 European unlocked version of the G5 but am using it on the US AT&T network. Based on documentation for the AT&T specific H820, there us a visual voicemail function that shows up on the dialer in the phone app. Does anyone know of a way to get this working on the H850?
Thanks for any advice or direction.

The AT&T Visual Voicemail app is available on Google Play.
I tried to get this to work on my unlocked G5 (RS988) used on AT&T here in the US, and it says the app is not compatible with my device. This is total BS because the AT&T branded G5 comes with AT&T Visual Voicemail pre-loaded. If someone figures out how to get this working, please share. Thanks.

I can't speak for the AT&T app but the T-Mobile app loads just fine on any model.

I checked the AT&T app for my current phone US992 and it will load. If you are seeing the not compatible error you could download the apk from the Play Store using an apk downloader like evozi.

Thanks for that suggestion, or I may just copy the .apk over from my prior phone (AT&T branded HTC One m7) to the G5.
Is the AT&T Visual Voicemail app working for you?

I don't have AT&T but it will install from the Play Store.
I am thinking the phone / contacts app from the stock AT&T ROM and maybe other components would do it, based on the orange circled icon in this image from the AT&T help documents:
I could not find any links to download the ROM / updates (latest was H82011k) except for OTA instructions. So we would need to find out what files we need and get someone with the H820 to copy the files out for us - any volunteers?
I downloaded the AT&T visual voicemail app from the play store, but it is for U-verse and unified messaging customers, and does not work for standard wireless customers like me.
So I finally found something that works. AT&T has a visual voicemail app but the G5 is set as incompatible in the Play Store. Based on AT&Ts help page they think it is already installed on the device, not considering there are multiple versions.
Anyway I downloaded the APK from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/att-se...al-voicemail-4-0-0-0095-android-apk-download/
I tried using Market Helper to change my device to a compatible one but could not get that to work.
I verified the above app works. Even transcribes your voicemail! I am just missing the shortcut on the dialer screen to the VVM app, but I can live with that.
Hope this helps other AT&T users.
I just found what I think is the most current version of this app: http://apk-files.org/apk/com.att.mobile.android.vvm/at%26t+visual+voicemail/
