[Q] About flashing a new ROM - Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro

First of all, i'm really new here...
So the question is: If i flash a new rom in my device... There is any way to restore to the factory rom? (a rom backup or something like that?)
About the apps, files, etc i know how to backup it, :good: just need to know if i can do something to restore the rom if something went wrong or if i just want to go back to factory rom...

You have to use cwm recovery for taking and restoring nandroid backup or u may use titanium backup, rom toolbox etc for taking backup of individual app and app data.

You need least 3 gb of free space as the backup took almost 2.5gb of space

Restoring factory means the apps and data on phone (not sd card) will be erased automatically.... And backed up with stock apps....

Take a look at AppExtractor. It can read nandroid backups and you can choose which apps you want restore.

yes but how do i install the mods just download the zip file and flash through cwm?
i have a fantastic answer for you...
if you flash a new custom rom and then you want to restore all the settings from the old one, you can go in Cwm mode > Backup and restore > Advanced restore > restore DATA...
in this way you restore only the app and the configuration of system...
i hope i help you!
so the app and the configuration from the old rom will be in the new rom ..??? .. wow! thank you for your answer!

Exercise caution doing this
Always make one before flashing.
Remember that full backups take a lot of space. Download titanium backup and backup user apps and their data, delete them and then make a nandroid backup. Takes less space and its a lot faster.
I curently have 2 backups. My stock ROM and a curently used custom ROM. Once my custom ROM is updated I delete the backup of the custom ROM, I update it, then make another Nandroid backup with the updated version that way it saves me a lot of space.

Use this with caution.
Its better to set you phone manually than to brick it due to lack of time, or doing it manually.
Stick with the basics, basics dont get your phone bricked. Trust me

I have restored data with no problem using Data only Nandroid backups for years .
But i always only restore data to a same build rom that is no restore of ICS to JB and no restore of KLP to JB .
On PC original factory rom + Nandroid copy of last known full working custom rom .
Worked on custom roms are backed up to ext sd card .
Worst problem i ever have is usually if i wipe something without thinking clear Nandroid backups and forget to update . Even then its only a stock rom Odin flash to start again .

In TiBu (Titanium Backup) just back up user apss (like facebook, twitter, games, apps downloaded through GooglePlay Store)
Run a batch backing up user apps and then from System>Apps uninstal all of them but TiBu. Just like that once you've returned from making the backup, open TiBu and select backups/restore tab in the top section again and press the menu/options softkey. Select Batch and then Restore all missing user apps.
No need to make a .zip file, not flashable through recovery.

[Q] TB titanium Backup

Hellow guys, i was wondering how do you guys restore backup? Only the green and white lettered apps?

Yes I do it everytime when flashing new ROMS, but lately Ive done a clean install then i wondered what is the best way to restore my files.
I download all the apps first if moving to a different rom, although it should make no difference. My restores got messed up one time so this is how I go.

I don't think I'm understanding your problem/question.
Define 'clean install'. What 'files' do you mean in particular?

Clean install I mean I did a full wipe using mega script that formats cache dalvik data system preload ...
But thats not the question. It is when you restore via TB you onlly restore things in green and white? Everything in red you untick?

Just press on the tick in the top right corner, scroll down to 'restore' and select 'restore apps with missing data'. They are the apps you want.

[Q] CWM Recovery issue 6.0.3.1

I see lots of people having restore issues with the data folder but couldn't find anyone having problems with backup on the data folder. Every backup I try to do gives me this error about the data folder not being backed up. Is there a better recovery app out there?

HELP Phone Freezes After Boot Up

Hi
My phone freezes 10 seconds after boot up. I installed some games before that. I don't know its because of the new games or something else?
Is there anyway that i can disable them within that 10 seconds that i have before it freezes?
I did some search online and "wipe cache partition" in CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4 and "reboot system now" but still having the same problem.
I don't want to lose any data on my phone. Is there anyway that you guys can help me?
Thanks
BTW my phone is rooted with Sprint ROM
Android Version 4.1.2
Build Number MD4
