Hi
My phone freezes 10 seconds after boot up. I installed some games before that. I don't know its because of the new games or something else?
Is there anyway that i can disable them within that 10 seconds that i have before it freezes?
I did some search online and "wipe cache partition" in CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4 and "reboot system now" but still having the same problem.
I don't want to lose any data on my phone. Is there anyway that you guys can help me?
Thanks
BTW my phone is rooted with Sprint ROM

Hey guys/girls.
How long does it take you to do a full wipe, flash and restore? I've only ever installed one rom and was wondering how long it takes.
Also what is the process invlolved in how you do it?
Is it backup with titanium then go into cwm and Wipe Data / Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache, Format System partition and Install rom. Then get titanium and restore everything?
U can use TitaniumBackup to backup apps and restore them when u flash new rom. I rarely use it. I do cwm backup of complete rom and then install and try new rom from scratch... U can do whatever u like.
Averege time for things u asked is aprox. ~10-20min..

Just out of curiosity, you didn't flash the jb leak provided in this section, didn't you?
If you did chances are high you got a full brick.
Are you able to get to download mode (volume down + home + power)? If yes, flash a stock firmware and try again.

In my experience, Titanium Backup should be used sparingly, It IS totally brilliant, but, depending on the ROM you are flashing from/to is like trying to shove a square peg into a round hole, it will go in, but it ain`t happy about it.
Also the amount of time it takes depends on how many apps you have installed.
Before you actually use Titanium, it is a wise idea to go into the preferences, and make sure the "migrate system data" and the "restore app external data" boxes are ticked. (should be default setting IMO)
From a fully app`d ROM do a full backup of sytem and user apps, but when it comes to restoring them, restore the apps only, the restoration of app data should be done selectively, and the most common system data(contacts, call logs, sms history etc) are usually highlighted green.
Then just use your phone and any time you come accross an app that is missing its data, restore it on a "per app" basis.
All this may take a bit longer than the 15-20 mins quoted, but rarely more than an hour.
This has been a reliable method for the 50 odd times I`ve flashed my SII, and the 20 odd times I`ve flashed my SIII....Hope this helps
I was just on I9300XXDLI8 and due to missing picture and music I decided to wait for the official.
Odin the Original Image 5 minutes
Wipe Data 1 Minutes
Phone Initial Setup (with usual play and gmail account) 3 minutes
FULL restore from Kies (119 apps and all other data) 35 minutes
Usual Play Store update for out of date apps 10 minutes
Took a total of 54 minutes.

Use Go Backup. Titanium fails to do auto restore often, resulting to a manual restore of all your data with Titanium backup using install, enter, done, install, enter, done' repeatedly.
Go Backup restores all without a single problem

A little cautious here maybe, but TB backup, boot into clockwork android backup, format system and data wipe cache / dalvik. Flash rom, restore apps but no data from titanium then restore data for a select bunch of apps (banking apps which require authentication and similar) restore call logs, sms via TB. Total time approx 1 hour.

yes but how do i install the mods just download the zip file and flash through cwm?
i have a fantastic answer for you...
if you flash a new custom rom and then you want to restore all the settings from the old one, you can go in Cwm mode > Backup and restore > Advanced restore > restore DATA...
in this way you restore only the app and the configuration of system...
i hope i help you!
so the app and the configuration from the old rom will be in the new rom ..??? .. wow! thank you for your answer!

Exercise caution doing this
Always make one before flashing.
Remember that full backups take a lot of space. Download titanium backup and backup user apps and their data, delete them and then make a nandroid backup. Takes less space and its a lot faster.
I curently have 2 backups. My stock ROM and a curently used custom ROM. Once my custom ROM is updated I delete the backup of the custom ROM, I update it, then make another Nandroid backup with the updated version that way it saves me a lot of space.

Its better to set you phone manually than to brick it due to lack of time, or doing it manually.

I have restored data with no problem using Data only Nandroid backups for years .
But i always only restore data to a same build rom that is no restore of ICS to JB and no restore of KLP to JB .
On PC original factory rom + Nandroid copy of last known full working custom rom .
Worked on custom roms are backed up to ext sd card .
Worst problem i ever have is usually if i wipe something without thinking clear Nandroid backups and forget to update . Even then its only a stock rom Odin flash to start again .

In TiBu (Titanium Backup) just back up user apss (like facebook, twitter, games, apps downloaded through GooglePlay Store)
Run a batch backing up user apps and then from System>Apps uninstal all of them but TiBu. Just like that once you've returned from making the backup, open TiBu and select backups/restore tab in the top section again and press the menu/options softkey. Select Batch and then Restore all missing user apps.
No need to make a .zip file, not flashable through recovery.

why dont u take a backup on extsd card.....
Hey, this is the first time I'm posting a problem here. I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro (I8552). I rooted my phone yesterday via cwm recovery, and then made a backup using ROM Manager. It rebooted my phone directly into a backup page where it started backing it up, but my internal memory wasn't big enough so it failed and since then I haven't been able to boot my phone up... When I try to turn it on it goes straight into CWM Recovery page, and when I click "reboot system now" it turns off the screen and then reboots it again into CWM Recovery...
Then, since I couldn't access the apps (as the phone won't start), I made another backup through CWM Recovery, but this time in my external SD Card which had about 6 gb free space. So it made and completed the backup without any problems. But when I restore it from my ext SD Card it restores the system and stuff but then when it comes to data it shows the message
Error while restoring /data!
Click to collapse
. Every time.
And so I tried
wipe data/factory reset
Click to collapse
it does it, and completes the process, but still it won't boot up, neither by
reboot system now
Click to collapse
nor by removing battery and trying to restart.
Mind you, I didn't flash any new ROMs, it was still running my stock ROM when this happened...
So to sum up the things I've tried
1. Reboot system now
2. Backup in extSD Card (which worked) and restore from the same (which didn't work)
3. Wipe data/factory reset
Also one more thing, before any of this mess was made, right after I rooted my phone, I made a backup of all apps through the app called
Titanium Backup root
Click to collapse
.
Is there any way I can get out of this mess? And maybe make my phone accessible again.
And if somehow by sheer stroke of luck and your expertise, if I do get out of this mess, is there any way to root my phone again and recover the apps or appdata from the already made CWM backup? or the Titanium Backup I made (or is it gonna be gone because of the factory reset?).
Thank you in advance for any help or try you might

Yeah, but then will I be able to restore from the same backup (cwm) that's causing problems now, or will it not work even then?
And what about the backup I made with the Titanium Backup app, will I be able to retrieve app data from there?
Because the very reason I was backing it all up was to protect the app data, and it's pretty important. So is it possible to save it after stock flashing?
The stock recovery flasher will help u get out of that loop. Check the link posted above.
