So I ended up with a chappy home button and changed in my note 3 for the 2cd time and followed a tutorial on how to re-apply the GlasT to my new device and it's like all the sticky is gone? Anyone successfully Reuse this product?

Why does my spen constantly register movements and button presses when I'm not in contact with the screen? I can just hover it over an icon and its like I pressed it or when drawing something and I pick up the pen and move it to the tools it's still acting like I'm drawing making random touch marks...
I've tried the ssid code to calibrate the s pen but no change...I even took off my screen protector ..no change...has anyone else experienced anything like this at all?? On an ICS rom btw..so any thoughts if its hardware or software...thanks

I searched this on Google before I posted my original question and didn't find anything so on a whim I changed my search wording and found this.

Nice fix. Thanks for that. No issues with mine (yet) but glad to know there is a fix.

Friend of mine tried to smack the pen as stated in a few of the comments for that video and said it worked. Interesting stuff.

Lol smack the pen? I musta missed that comment? Being messing with the tape and not to much luck yet...called att and they got samsung on the line and said send us your pen and after we evaluate it we'll send you a replacement in 6 weeks!

Ooooook apparently beating the pen repeatedly does help it discharge the magnetic field build up :what:

There is an app in the store that lets you change the spen sensitivity. Its called screentune or something like that (its not free)

If the issue is the magnet in the pen itself, a sensitivity app would be a bandaid solution if it worked at all.

I paid the $3 or whatever and it works great for my spen issues, no problems since then. TouchScreenTuner is the name.

I have similar issue but buying whole roll of alu tape isnt worth it when u can get a new s-pen for 20$ on ebay... Im glad to see the fix work however, might try it to confirm if someone is willing to ship me a 2" piece lol
Can't slide the pen in with the tape on :banghead:

So just got my phone back from Samsung after they replaced the screen. The menu button is very dim and the search button is dim compared to the middle two buttons. I was going to call Samsung but wondered if it may be an easy fix that I could do on my own instead of waiting another week to get it fixed. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Just called Samsung and they want me to send it back for repair. I don't know if its worth it, will b third time sending it to them...why can't they fix it right the firs time?!
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Anyone have any ideas
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Sorry. It looks like sending it back to them will be the only way to fix it that doesn't take cash out of your pocket. As for why they can't get it right? Most likely because it is a low paid repair tech just following a shop manual.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
Yeah, I ended up sending it to them today. I got next day air shipping and the guy expedited the process for me for the hasal for no charge at all since its their fault. Hopefully, I get it back with no problems.
Hey guys. So I was in my school weight room and I was doing my curls when I dropped my SGP 5. Didn't realize it because of my music. So when I finished my set, I happened to acidentally drop a 45 pound dumbbell on the screen. As you would guess, it didn't end well. So right now it has a massive dent in the top left corner and glass is coming off. The screen (miraculously) still works and it still connects to my computer. I need to know how I can bring it into best buy without them noticing its rooted. I already have it on default ROM and kernel but it still has superuser and terminal. I literally have no money so a new device isnt an option. Any help?
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
there shoud be an unroot option under superuser.
btw, having terminal doesnt mean yr rooted.
B sure to make a nandroid.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
If unrooting through superuser doesn't work, try the unoot feature in superoneclick.
Sent from my YP-G1 using xda app-developers app
Thanks guys. I ended up having a friend fix it. Though I found out that my best buy no longer has the SGP's anymore. Would I be able to get an nexus 7 with my warranty due to them not having a replacement and similar prices? I remember having something like that for my headphones.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
I don't know about that. But you say your Best Buy does not sell the player anymore? Weird. Although you might be able to buy it at Toys R Us (yep they sell the player there too).

About 2 weeks ago my GPS would connect really slow. Today when i tried to use it wouldn't even connect. I tried wiping the caches and the SD card. I use Waze for my GPS. Anyone else experience this?

there's a fix in the general section that addresses this issue. Apparently it's a hardware issue where the tabs in your phone don't seem to make the connection to the antenna. the fix points out which connectors to adjust but requires you opening your phone. I've been experiencing this issue as well. I find massaging the top back right (when looking at the phone) seems to help but it's only a temp fix. I'm debating if I want to send the phone in for an RMA for that and a weird sim issue I've been experiencing.

Opening it isn't that difficult. Just follow the instructions and be gentle on the prongs when you pull them up.

Just go to the drug store and get an eyeglasses repair kit. The screwdrivers in those are generally small enough and the whole kit costs less than $2.00 US.
Definetly have to get that tomorrow

I bought a husky multi tip "jewlers" screwdriver from Home Depot, best $10 I spent. Got the philips/standard one and the torques one. I use those to tear everything down. I say invest a little and keep em for years. But that's just me, I tear lots of things apart. If you want I can get you the husky product numbers off them.

2 sec GPS lock and no more sim issues plus 3 month warranty extended onto my phone. I'm fairly content, couldn't get anyone to give me any sorts of discounts on a Note 2 but I still love this phone.
Had this same problem - flashed a GB radio - everything is now working perfectly.
Just an FYI.

I got a new vibrator and tried unscrewing the back of the phone (6 screws) but the red back is not coming off easily and I'm afraid I would break something. Any tips on how to remove the back correctly and safely?
Thanks
