imei issue only on 4.4 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I can DL a 4.1-4.3 ROM and data is fine. I tried two 4.4 ROM (slim and pa) and same exact issue. No data and using the *#*#4635#*#* menu it says unknown imei. But soon as I put a lower ROM its fine. What can be happening? Tried rewiping and reinstalling and redownloading and still issues.

Anyone.... anyone? I love kit kat on my s4 and would love it on my note

Got the imei fixed but only get LTE now. Can't call or text. I've went back to stock and wiped everything and tried reinstalling but keep running into issues. Never had problems Like this before. Frustrating.

Hulu+ doesn't play

I'm hoping I don't get flamed here but I am having trouble getting Hulu+ to play on my SGH-I777. I contacted Hulu+ support and in their reply they said that they don't support rooted phones so here I am.
When I try to watch anything on the Hulu+ app I get an error message "streaming unavailable [WV44] [91]
I am on stock 4.0.3 which I flashed to using Kies. From there I flashed what I believe is the latest Siyah kernel, 3.5.1. Other than that my phone is stock. I have tried rebooting the phone, deleting cache for the app, force stopping-clearing data and clearing cache, uninstalling the app-rebooting the phone and re-installing the app.
I then tried booting the phone into CWM recovery and wiping the cache, dalvik, and extweaks.
I have a feeling the stuff I did in CWM wouldn't have made a difference but I thought I should try.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would even be willing to flash the stock kernel to bring my phone back to factory stock if someone knows where I can find it. I've read that doing that can cause serious problems though so and insight on that would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thank you in advance.

Just contact them again and say the problem persists and I got a new phone.
There is a hacked version of the app in the apps and games forum somewhere that fixes this. Post back if you can't find it and I'll pm you a dropbox link. Won't be able to get it uploaded till tomorrow sometime tho.

That's the one I'm using. Just got it two days ago so link should be fine. And I can verify it does work on our device.
Thanks for finding that for me but it doesn't work for me. It just keeps buffering forever. I don't know if I mentioned this already but I'm running stock ICS 4.0.3. It seems like most people in that thread are running 2.3 GB.
I went back to the Play store to look at the reviews and it seems the problem I'm having with the app is the same problem everyone with a GS2 is having.

On that note I should also mention I've only tried it on cm10 (4.1.1). I don't see why it would run on jb and not ics though. So if anything it must be an issue with Sammy firmware. I've also only used it over wifi.
EDIT: There are 3 options to download in the OP of that thread. The one that worked for me was the middle one.
Thanks for putting up the link CallMeAria. I was using it on Tasks AOKP, and my wife uses it on shostock2. Haven't tried it yet on JB...

LTE issue

I flashed the google rom a few days ago and noticed that I couldn't pick up LTE. So I flashed the hyperdrive rom thinking it would fix the issue. Hyperdrive works good but I still can't pick up LTE. I think this is probably an easy fix and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I wipe data/system/cache every time I install a new rom.

I would probably go back to stock and see if that works and then go from there. In the past when I have had serious issues like this starting over from stock has always worked
The Google roms have a problem that prevents the LtE bars from showing. You still have 4g but the bars just don't show up. If they fixed it recently then I'm probably wrong though.

Reverting back to stock then reflashing hyperdrive again, worked like a charm. Thanks!

[Q] I figured out WiFi is causing my Screen of Death issue. Now what?

So I realized WiFi is causing my Screen of Death issue on EVERY KitKat ROM, and only KitKat ROM's. So what is my next step? Does anyone have a fix on this or anything? It'll either Screen of Death my phone or my data won't work until I turn off WiFi and then I can't turn it back on. Any help would be appreciated guys. I'm desperate now. 15 battery pulls a day are just ridiculous.
Why did you make a new thread? :what:
Anyways...I'm in the same boat as you. Take a few screenshots of your app drawer so I can see if we are using any of the same apps, it's possible one of them are the problem.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Well OP isn't very active, so I thought I'd get a logcat. I was connected to WiFi until I noticed it wasn't receiving any data (but still showed connected to WiFi). I turned the screen off and then it would not come back on anymore, but the phone was still responsive. I could turn torch on and off and even took a screenshot, but the screen still refused to come on. I'm guessing that whatever is happening, usually does so while the screen is off, and that's why I get a BSOD.
I'd like to add I've tried a bunch of different modems, clean flashed CM11, even restored no apps...yet the problem persists.
I've attached it to this post, if anyone has time to check it out I would be very grateful.

So I screenshot my drawer but don't have access to a computer till tomorrow. So I'll send em over. But yeah I just made a new thread because I wasnt getting any answers on the other when I discovered that WiFi was the issue.
I'm just so frustrated with my phone because I can not figure out a fix. At first I installed a clean kitkat ROM with full wipe, and didn't restore apps to see if it was an app but it still did it. Then I even completely unrooted my phone and rerooted, still did it.

That's alright, if it also did it for you without restoring any apps, its gotta be something else. But what... I have no idea.
It seems that WiFi is crashing while the screen is off and that is resulting in a BSOD. Why the hell is it crashing though... :banghead:

Yeah. I'll notice my WiFi is no longer sending data so I'll turn it off then it won't turn on. Or I'll try to turn it off and it won't then I know that if I lock my screen it won't turn on without a battery pull.
I'm not sure where to go from here if nobody can decipher that logcat.
All I can think of is to back up my SD card and completely format the phone.. then see if it persists.

So I just odined the stock MDK image, wiping everything. The only thing I copied back over was my pictures. Flashed back to KitKat and it STILL happens. WTF. This is beyond aggravating.

Okay I hate to speak too soon. But I MAY have found a temporary fix. I noticed that the screen only freezes and shuts off on the lock screen. Never any other time. So I turned off the android lock screen and put up widget locker instead (set up exactly the same way) so far it hasn't happened. Here's hoping I'm not jynxing myself though!
Never mind. I did speak to soon...ugh we need to find a fix for this and soon. Is it only on the vzw gs4?

I've googled and don't see any mention of WiFi causing a bsod.
I'm gonna test my next theory, not let Google restore anything from my Google account. That's the only other thing that is being restored.

Yeah I tried that a while back too. I've tried everything I could possible think of. I had to go back to CM10.2 because I just couldn't stand doing a battery pull 10 times a day, killing my battery.
Anyone have any luck with a fix yet?

So if u have WiFi toggled off during the day you don't have this problem at all?? I'm not really sure myself if anything with wifi has changed in 4.4
How many different kit kat ROMs have you tried? And you said you're in the latest modem?

Yeah, it never happens when Wifi is off. I've tried it on CM11, OmniRom, Jelly Beans, PA, Gummy Rom, and I think one other. And what is modem again?

The modem (baseband) is something you can flash in recovery..
It controls the cells hardware that communicates with the actual cell towers.
That isn't going to mess with your WiFi though.. How about kernels have you tried another one maybe KToonsez ?

First SMS works... the rest fail?

So I had CM 10.2 running on my VZW S4 and it worked fine until today... all of the sudden it would not send SMS messages. If I reboot it it will send one and then no more until I reboot again.
I tried clearing the app data... then wiping the data on the phone... and even installing CM 11... still does the same thing?
Ideas?
I suggest reading through the thread I linked. You aren't alone with that issue.

It's believed to be a problem deep in CM's code, and recent network changes may have surfaced the issue but only with CM. I don't think TW has this issue.

Yea skynote is a att port so there might be some bugs that will cause that.. great guys over there though..always make sure you backup your efs and modem.. If you don't get back service you can flash MJ9 firmware (Here) with the tz, param, and modem will solve the issue..
Make sure you thank the OP too:good:

Yeah they're a great team as well. Everything was good after restoring. I actually jumped back on 4.3 today and installed N3BULA build 2 lol. Was waiting for the final build that came out earlier today. Thank you for your work. Everything besides s health is working great from a clean wipe.
