[QUESTION][GalaxyS2] Questions/Help with internal memory, customized ROM, "true" fact
(1) I need to completely wipe, remove, restore my phone to absolute stock. I am having some weird issues and want a "clean slate" to work off of. I currently have AJK (with custom initd and extweeks), cwm recovery, and cyanogen installed. I want all of it removed and want to start from scratch. What's the best way to accomplish this?
(2) upon completing Q1; I have a very small internal phone memory, somewhere around 1/2gb but I have a 32gb SDcard -- is it possible to format my SDcard to allow it to be used as "phone memory" so I can have more apps installed? I know there is the "move to SD" options, but this is not what I am looking for since this does not work for widget apps. Also I have a difficult time downloading apps without getting the "insufficient space" error via the play store during app installs.
I am so tired of having to uninstall apps just to install or test new ones. There has got to be a way to use my SDcard as phone memory
I have:
- 100mb out of 1.97gb on Internal Storage (/system)
- 7.82gb out of 11.36gb on Internal Storage (/sdcard0)
- 14.84gb out of 29.32 on SD Card (/sdcard1)

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So even if I could combine /system and /sdcard0 to become /system and only have 1 sdcard partition would suffice
(3) is it possible to customize/package CyanogenMod to install NovaLauncher (remove/replacing Trebuch) and SwiftKeyboard (instead of AOSP keyboard), amongst other apps (I have the .apk files) so they are installed by default? Also removing apps like Apollo and DSPmanager.
(4) what are some custom scripts, init.d, extweeks, etc you guys are using that I should look into using to get the best performance, battery life, speeds out of the GS2?

I use CM7 (nightly builds) and recently ran into a warning message about low internal storage, but I had about 2/3 of the total internal storage free (about 1 GB). Moving a couple of apps to the SD card made the warning go away but I'd like to know why the warning occurred when I appear to have so much space available. I can't just ignore it because sync stops when this warning occurs. Since going to a 32GB SD card is not a reliable option with this phone, I'd like to resolve the issue without resorting to wholesale transfer of apps to my existing 16 GB SD card. The screenshot below is my current storage after I moved a couple of apps, but the difference in free space now vs. when I was getting the warning is tiny.

I have had that also while getting apps from the market.. I ignore it and just try again and it works.. Don't know what the deal is.. I'm running pool party and glitch

this is a known issue on aosp based roms. if you check jt's posts here, you will find a post about /datadata being full, along with the fix. your /data partition is not full but another one, /datadata, is. as jt said, this will never be changed upstream, so either use the fix after every data wipe, or use less apps/move to sd all apps possible.
to confirm, open better terminal, or android term, and run df -h, look for /datadata, bet it's about %85 full.. Much beyond that you will start to get massive amounts of FCs, and it will make the phone nearly useless until you either use the fix or remove/move to sd some apps..
if this helps click thanks.
Any help on this guys ? I'm unable to install more mods as my system ROM is full. I have already dedicated 1GB to internal memory. What to do to solve this problem ?

- Are you really sure you need all those mods?
- You can always move apps to sd card, even if they are system apps - just convert them to user apps and move them.
- Integrate updates into system apps, and them move them to user (like gmail, maps, youtube...)
- Delete things like live wallpapers, xperia wallpapers, any app thats basicly just pictures, use the smallest size defaulttheme apk you can find: run file explorer, go to system/app, sort by size and start deleting things from the top (that arent really necesarry)
- save all images you got trough mms, and delete messages. They take up a lot of space (mine took up 14MB) Use SMS backup or something, save them and delete them in the phone, also clear dial history
Other than that, what the hell did you isntall that takes up so much space? Are you REALLY sure you need all those things?
Oh yeah, that 1gig you 'dedicated to internal memory', thats only really useful for android <2.1, which didn't support native app2sd. Link2sd allows you to move any app to sd card with native app2sd. And you can only store apps trough link2sd on that second partition, system doesnt see it as system (unless you remounted system as /system + /sd-ext but thats only my theory, I have no idea how that would be possible.
Hey guys
So for a while now I've been having problems with my internal SD card being overly full and I can't figure out why. Here's a pic of it:

I have CWM installed and I know that takes a lot...but it seems as though it just seems to get more and more full even if I don't do anything. I'm using Camera JB+ to store pictures to my SD card, and all my music is also on my SD card, as well as my CWM backups.
Any ideas? I have tried clearing cache/dalvik after updating CM10.1 but it doesn't change much...
Thanks,
Elliott
What's that misc. over there? 9 GB of crap?
Looks like a bug, nothing in the cm thread?

I have no idea what it is...I've used the "DiskUsage" app but it's majorly confusing...
Install a storage app that can show folder sizes like Folder Size Chart or Storage Analyser etc. Then you can find out what is taking up space.
if you are on cm10.1 nightly then remove viber & lucky patcher if installed.
you might flashed 20130121 nightly... this may help you
see this & this
if this didnt help you go to CM10.1 forum and search there. u will definitely find solution

Go into system/log and delete everything. I got back over 1.3 GB on the 2 GB SD partition.
Thanks but I don't have a system/log folder It's really full now to the point where it won't let me take pictures anymore...have been using 3rd party camera to save to external_sd...but I like the original camera.
[How To] Fix " No SDcard & AOSP camera Fix" easy Solution for all cm11 based roms !!!
Hi Mates,
Trying to Update my daughter's Ace 2 (I8160), from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4, I found that there is no more access to the External SDcard, and that a Lot off Apps Start Showing the " No SDcard inserted " message: Gallery, Backup Titanium, Camera Apps, and even wortst, the AOSP Camera simply doesn't work, so we will have to install an alternative app (ie. google camera...), but then again, they end up by giving the same Error message.

After searching all related threads, I couldn't find any solution (forget about the SDFIX, SD Fixer... on the Play Store), they used to work, but not now.
So, Here the very easy Solution, I finally did find out myself:
What you need (you might already have it!):

At least an 8 G° External Sdcard Storage, a class 4 sdcard is good, but a class 10 or faster, will be a better choice to have a faster system.
Insert your scard, Format it (Fat32 is good, If you are planning to read it on your Pcs using a card reader).
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
1- Open NovaThor Settings;
2-Click on Advanced;
3-In the first section (Storage), Tick on the "swap Storage" case.
This will not affect the speed of your phone, because the files system will still be on the "real internal Storage", and all the data stuff will be on the "new internal storage", wich is our external Scard, that's why I said better to grub a class 10 one, and do your self a fever by buying a 16G° or a 32G°, a Guenine good tradmark, is also adviced.
4-Wait for the operation to be done, and then Reboot when it ask for.
Ooops!!!, not only "The annoying message" is gone, you now have larger internal storage capacity, and the CM11 Camera working too!!!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
And Voilà, It's all done.
I hope this will help a bunch of people that are lost between threads, seeking for a solution.
Thanks for Pressing my Thanx Button, It doesn't Hurt.

My wifes device is stock/rooted. I've tried moving all the apps to the SD card that I can but it's still showing 4.16GB of apps in internal storage. What can I do to fix this and get everything on the SD card that I can? I have tried Link2SD but it only moves somethings. I just want all user apps, downloads and pictures to default to the SD card.
So, does anyone know how to moved everything to the SD card and make it the default storage location?
5.0.2 does not allow moving everything to SD card like previous versions. You can only move the main app, but all data still needs to be on internal. I had the same issue. I tried updating some apps the other day, and got the error of not enough space, so the only option was to uninstall some apps I hardly used. I'm back up to around 1.2 free. Another thing to do is clear cache a lot. I free up around 400MB each clean. I use two apps for that, and both work great. Apps2SD has more features, and you have to enable the cache clean notification in settings. Cache Cleaner does just that. You can even use CCleaner to see if there are orphaned files/folder that can take up needed space.

I just learned that I have the same problem: I moved several apps to the SD card and it's still showing that I have 1 GB of free space. However, when I check which apps I have in the SD card, link2sd shows that nothing's in external memory. Please check the images I attached to this post. The first one shows which apps I supposedly have in the SD card. The other image says otherwise.

I think this is because the device is rooted, I've heard xt1527 model has some issues with root binaries...
