Hi,
I'm a user with no tech knowledge other than how to flash a custom rom and use it. Today, I flashed Android Revolution HD 40.0 (coming off 29.0) on my S3 I9300
I have an issue after that installation, but as a "newbie /rookie" I am not allowed to post the question directly into the relevant forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334
So, apologies for posting, here but I simply can't follow this instruction #3 as per the related thread:

Question 1: Why can't I post my question into the thread, if the owning developer wants it to be that way?
Question 2: After installing the Rom, all works fine. But every 5 minutes I keep getting the same list of notifications back (they're all related to some files being in the "downloads" folder, confirming the file has been downloaded. When I delete the notifications, they simply keep coming back.
I already did a cache wipe. The list of notifications also comes back each time there's a new notification. (but it stays the same list of 7 items)

Forum rules is why .
Basically its to prevent a multitude of stupid posts .It of course does not work as stupid posts can be from a 1 poster or 40 posters .
Most of these stupid posts are due to users not reading the instructions or even bothering with the basic faqs and guides .
Note some Devs have a Q&A thread as its Q&A you don't need ten posts .
Q2 sorry dont use that rom suggest flashing it again .

My questions are:-
1) which custome roms suit my rooted sgs3 the best?
2) while downloading roms should i go for roms which are based on my android version ie 4.1.2 or can i flash any roms based on any android version?
3) which GAPPS are best for my SGS3?
4) I today tried to flash AVATAR rom "avatar-nightly_3.1-636-20130823-NIGHTLY-i9300" and gapps-jb-20121011-signed and followed the entire procedure of wiping dalvik cache and all but on rebooting got a message that AVATAR ROM HAS DETECTED A CRASH and SET WIZARD HAS FAILED.Please tell me what did i do wrong?
Thanks to so many tutorials by xda members i had already backed up my previous rom so i'm safe but i want to flash a new rom,kindly help

I want to perform the following to my i9100 phone:
1) How to move from the official Gingerbread 2.3.5 version to cyanogenMod 9 ROM. Including, can I install Cyanogen 9 on top of 2.3.5 kernal.
2) Best safe way to backup original stock Gingerbread ROM in case something doesn't go according to plan.
3) How and at what point during upgrade to CM 9 to root.
4) Which is the proper, stable kernal for this CM 9 (dorimanx has been recommended). At what point, during the upgrade process, is the kernal changed. This is a main concern I have.
I have never done any of this before. I didn't want to upgrade to Android 4.0.04 because of potential Super Brick or other complications. Jelly Bean is not an option for other reasons.
CyanogenMod 9 would seem to meet all my current needs for this phone, and is open source)
I have not seen a detailed "How to" guide to upgrade from stock Gingerbread 2.3.5 to CycnogenMod 9, rooting, and kernal install. Just parts of it scattered, a year old. Can someone guide me through this.
I just need a flexible stable everyday ICS level phone. I'm open to suggestions. Please remember, I have not done any of this before. Thank you.
Spoon feeding is not aloud here on xda. Please read them scattered threads for the info you need them put it all together and then read abit more. Learning is the key to xda not just asking then getting what you want. First thing you need to look at is rooting. Good guide on here telling you about root

Hello everybody. Today I root my friend galaxy s2 and now I want to install on his phone a 4.2.2 stock rom. Can somebody give me a link with a good & smooth 4.2.2 rom ?
No such thing as 4.2 stock for I9100, only custom roms. And custom rom recommendations are forbidden here. Go read the rom threads in the two development sections (read the first page for instructions/etc & the last ten pages for recent user experiences with the rom), and try some roms out for yourself.

Hi guys, I am using note 3 n9005, and my note 3 have the overheating problem. The maximum temperature that happen last time was until 72degree. I turn off many application already which is chaton, yahoo finance, s health, etc. But the phone was still very hot and the battery was draining very fast.
The android version is 5.0 lollipop version. So I would like to ask is that anybody have any solution? Please help me!!!
I think the problem was come from the android version.... So if no have the solution for fixing the heating problem... I need somebody teach me the way to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.3.
Last time I had tried to use Odin flash the 4.3v to my phone, the result was my phone get soft brick, struck at the CAUTION Logo. So after that I flash the 5.0v back to my phone, and then my note 3 can use already. But I cannot downgrade to 4.3v.
So, please help me to downgrade android version or solve the heating problem. Please.

I was very happy to see the Remix Resurrection OS custom rom available for my Lenovo Tab M10 HD X505X, as there are no current custom rom for my device. The problem soon arose when I tried to flash the rom to my tablet using TWRP, I also faced the same problem of getting stuck at the LENOVO logo. Being confused I decide for going back to my custom rom, Finally finding the stock rom and doing some alterations in the stock rom files, I was able to flash the Stock rom with ADB with no issues and the device works with no issues. The Resurrection ROM was not working even though I followed each and every step to flash the file exactly with getting no errors.

I Followed exact steps but it yielded no results. I cannot afford Data losses for multiple times, as the tab is in constant use daily.
