hi
apparently the xperia plays 1ghz processor has been clocked to 2ghz....
now in my streak the kernel allows a stable 1.190ghz, and for about 30 seconds I can get 1.5ghz before it reboots.
theoretically what is the dell streaks maximum if the right kernel was made?

It's chip dependant, the HD2 has been known to go up to 1.5ghz and it uses the same chip. But everything has to work right together at that clock for it to be stable.
From reading here and on other boards, it seems that the most streaks won't go over 1200Mhz, without getting unstable. My streak actually don't like anything above 1119Mhz.
But as TheManii said, it's different from chip to chip and so from streak to streak
Yes, the most common stable OC cap is 1119mhz, OCing depends on the entire system, mabye one of the other chips or the way it's organized on the board is the reason it cant go higher.
ok thanks for the info, I initially thought that with the right kernel, maybe the streak could match the xperias 2ghz....

I can run my streak at 1420mhz all day long no reboots or anything does drain battery tho so i put it to maximuk for gaming etc

what kernel/software you running??
link?
just running dsc rom 0.64b, if you install 0.65b the highest you can go to is 1267mhz, so ill stick with 0.64 as it works fine for me, pretty responsive too
Anyone know when nova 3 comes out for android already out on os

Just an educated guess, but I seriously doubt you would be able to run it smoothly on the galaxy player, as mc3 pushes it, and Nova 3 looks alot more demanding than even that. It doesn't really run on the iPod touch 4g, though, so it would be nice to rub it in their faces
I am personally wanting to get asphalt 7. Can't wait for either!

It will probably arrive roughly at the end of the month
Mc3 runs perfect on mine and never knew there was an asphalt 7.
It should run good with a bit lags though

Asphalt 7: heat is supposedly coming out this month. Mc3 runs pretty smooth on mine, but I am used to ps3 gaming, so even slight drops in framerate annoy me! I am what they call a "frameratephile" (actually just coined that word)!

So what your saying is it "does" matter to you? lol
I highly doubt that it will run smoothly on the player, the newer are probably optimized for Tegra 3, Adreo 22x, and Mali 400. I was playing Zenonia 4 and that lags on Gingerbread, so I would assume that Nova 3 would be even more laggier than that.

Agreed.
I'm currently experimenting with overclocking the gpu in the kernel. The powervr sgx540 is clocked at 200mhz, but the same chip is clocked at a higher speed in the galaxy nexus. (I think 400mhz?)

Google clocked it to 307MHz in the GN(according to posters over there), I would love to have 307MHz or 384MHz if possible...I know ICS will really benefit since they made everything HW accelerated. And I suspect that over players will need newer drivers, because I doubt the Nexus S & i9k use the same drivers currently.

How are you going to overclock the GPU? Manually? Or is there an app for that?

By modifying the kernel source.

It's laggy on a SGSII, so it would be like half of that on our device...

I think the lag is from the bloom, and DOF(depth of field) effects, I would recommend a game like that be played on an iPad3 or Tegra 3.
In AnTuTu this phone scores almost half of what the Nexus 7 scores in GPU test, though it beats it in everything else.

Not reliable info. Phones can be modded to do well on benchmarks. Wait till we get our goodies and see what happens

Generally the mods affect the IO scores, I'm speaking about only the GPU scores.

The optimus 4x hd is the closest and most comparable to the optimus since it has essentially the same software and is the closest tegra 3 device to the OG.
Per antutus website, the OG beats the 4x HD in total score and GPU. It loses barely to the N7, but that is likely due to butter and software improvements. Assuming both are on the same software, the OG should perform better.
I believe anandtech said Adreno 320 is the best ARM GPU this year minus the iPad's PowerVR GPUs. It is the top android GPU.
Either way, both are great GPUs, but the S4 Pro has a better CPU.

Interesting?

I'll find that interesting once we can disable the throttling on this thing, cause right now it's not scoring very well throttling so often.

Hey I have a cracked screen on my Venue 8 7000. Has any one tried out to see if the tablet offers MHL support?

According to specs no. They prompted casting the screen instead.
