My Mobile Screen is blank and is not turning on. It happened by it self, I was not upgrading nor charging. Only thinking I can tell is that when ever I'm charging it is showing RED light instead of Yellow. If I remove the battery and put it on cardle to charge, cardle will show that the battery is Full by GREEN Light.
I hope it can be fixed. Would appreciate if some one can help me ASAP.
Thankx in advance
try softreset
try hardreset
try leaving the batt out for a long time
I tried all that but still same. Neither Soft nor Hard reset or taking the battery out. Nothing on the screen, its blank.
Unfortunely i having the same problem, i suspect the backup battery problem ....
how do we change the backup battery?
can we do it by ourselves/non-professionals?
what type is the backup battery?
Where can we order from?
I am also having the same problem, perhaps someone can shed some light?
thanks,
J.

1. Yes you can change the backup batt by youselves. You'll need to unsolder two contacts from the mainboard
2. Bat. type is Maxell ML2016T17
3. Do not know where to order (here in Russia it to hard to find such type of the backup battery).

But can we be sure that the problem is in the backup battery. Because I have the same problem, I am unable to start my hima, and when I try hard reset or soft reset the screen just lits white and stays white for 15seconds, and if I put it on a craddle, it stays lit for 3 minutes (these are the values I had set in the power management). Other than that, and the yellow led light showing that the hima is charging, I'm unable to do anything at all. I am not even able to clean the registry hive (by pressing camera, record and reset button) nor even enter bootloader mode(d-pad, power button and reset)
Just as I'm typing, the yellow led light in the corner turns green, telling me that my battery is full. And that's it
I'm all ears and eyes guys, thanks,
J.

No this is not a backup battery problem 100%.
Seems that something wrong with the screen and connection of the screen to a motherboard. You can try to disassemble your Hima and check the screen connection.
Some question(s) to identify you problem?
Are you able to create a connection with activesync while hima is in craddle?

I sent my hima to a service repair center to check the soldering on the mainboard. It's not an authorized repair center, as there's none in Macedonia, it's a place for repairing digital cameras and stuff. It's the place where they changed my bottom connector few months ago, so I thought that the problem might be in the connector soldering (something loossened or something) but , I was told yesterday that the hardware seems ok and there's no problem whatsoever with the connectors and the m/b. This is how it all started:
My problem started a week after I upgraded to tofclock's 2k5 2.01wwe, and after altering the shell.exe file and the registry in order to get the clock shown in the title bar instead of the battery indicator. So after couple of days enjoying the 2k5, one morning my phone turned off, and I couldn't power it. I tried soft reset, tried hard reset, nothing. So I thought I should reflash it, but I couldn't enter b/l mode. I try leaving the battery out for some time (couple of hours) and when I place it back, the screen turns on, just a plain white light for about 15 seconds, and then turns off again. If I try hard reset, the screen lights up again (white screen, no image or anything) and after 15 seconds turns off and so on. I noticed that when the screen lights up after hard reset, if I place the hima in the cradle, the white screen stays on for 3 minutes, and this was exactly my settings in the power management(15seconds on battery, 3 mins on craddle), and the led light in the upper right corner is yellow, and after some time, it turns to green, as in battery charged. Active sync doesn't recognize the phone, I can't get serial screen, and nothing other than what I described in this post. I've tried hundreds of times the entire procedure, but nothing still.
Any ideas. Thanks,
J.
Latest news:
After many attempts to enter b/l, I wasn't successful. Now I placed the device in the cradle, the screen turned white as usual, the amber light turned on, and I received a message in the system tray in my pc the a new hardware was detected, and that XP is instaling..... After that, I received a message that the new device is Windows based Mobile Device.
And then, xp created a new LAN, but , it shows a limited or no connectivity.
why is this happening? And what is happening?
the pda show up as shuch if it's ready to receive a rom from the rom upgrade
But still, when I start himaupgradeut_noid.exe I get error 101, connection error
Note that I only get ehite blank screen, and not serial v1.06/usb v1.06, like I had before my last upgrade to 2k5. perhaps the b/l is corrupted or something?
cheers,
J.

Well,my U20i (x10 Mini Pro) have using a custom Rom for a long time and it is really great....until one day (this post date) my phone turn off by me because I want to conserve the battery, and then when I want to turn it on,it vibrate (with no light) and I can see the LCD displaying a very ultra low light level of screen (same like phone won't boot screen) so I reflash it again using the Rom I like but not work... :'(
I'm now try to recover my phone using Update Service aka SEUS right? And can someone give me other way to fix this problem? Also my accelerometer seems not working/functioning when this problem occur...yesterday everything was great but this day the problem occured...
Have you try the factory reset? Long ago my E10i can't use the WiFi, when i turn it on there's no hotspot detected and after 5 second it turn off automatically, even if i try to flash the ROM again, the problem still occur... Until i do the factory reset, it's working normally again... Just give it a try ,well if you don't mind to lose your apps...

if I understood, your phone boot but the display doesn't turn on.
since seems like this happen since turning the phone on. we can say that for some reason the screen isn't responding. so... you can try to reflash it again and see it that help in something.
the worst could be that the screen got damage in some way.
If i were you,I would reflash stock from via SEUS. And then see what happens. I only hope that it isn't a hardware issue

It sounds to me that your battery was just too low... You turned it off to conserve battery and then when you turned it on it gave you a notification sound...
it does that when it wants to turn off because of low battery...
just let it charge, i don't think it's much of a problem.
Well I flashed a stock Rom and the problem still occur...accelerometer doesn't work and phone display isn't on when boot (but the phone is on,yeah it is on just display have no light)

Hi, i've got the following question and/or issue. I use stock gingerbread 2.3.4 on my SE LWW and the notification LED behaviour is just weird. When i receive SMS message the LED blinks just one time after screen turns off and thats all. Same thing happens also for missed calls - just one single blink for about 1sec. The expected behaviour would be the LED blinking all the time until i turn on the screen or clear the notification from statusbar (it works that way for low battery warning). My question is - is that a correct behaviour in all SE LWW with stock 2.3.4 (.62 firmware)?
I've already tried LightFlow app from the market and it doesn't seem to work all ok. Sometimes it makes the LED to blink as it supposed to blink, but sometimes it makes it blink with ~2minutes delay and then stops blinking after about 1-2minutes.
Let me ask you that: did you maybe upgraded to ICS and then went back to GB?
If so, did you wipe data while downgrading to GB?
That could be the problem.
Nope. I've bought my LWW with stock 2.3.4 and haven't upgrade to ICS. The led behaves this way since i've bought that phone.
Then try a software repair with PC Companion. If that doesn't work, you should claim for your warranty.
So i guess in your LWW led was working normally in gingerbread (blinking all the time till the notification is cleared)?
I have a Mini, but as far as I know the LED works same way on LWW. Anyway, wait for someone to confirm that.
I've just asked sony's customer support how the notification LED should work in LWW and i'm kinda confused. I was told that LED works just fine in my LWW - it should stop blinking when screen is turned off. It would be great if someone with LWW could confirm this.
I think it was, that if you receive a notification, LED stays on until you turn the screen on. If you turn the screen off, LED stops, even if notification is still there.
I am not sure, I can't remember anymore on my LWW.
@Someguyfromhell
Thanks for reply! Well, my doesn't stay on at all. Lets say i've received a message or i missed a call (screen was off), then LED flashes only one time and thats all (i haven't turned the screen on).

Well that's what happens on Mini too. If the display is off when the SMS arrives, LED starts blinking. If you turn on the display, LED stops blinking even if you con't read the SMS. And if the SMS arrives with the display turned on, LED doen not blink at all.

same on my Stock 2.3.4 LwW as well.
I was just in the store where i've bought my LWW. I asked the seller if i could check the notification LED in other LWW. As i've thought it works just fine - when screen is turned off it flashes continously with green color. Seems like something is wrong with my LWW then... i'll try software repair in pc companion and if that doesn't help i'll claim for warranty.
Thanks for help!

Oh God, I told you to do that hours ago xD
Hopefully, everything will be fine
Yea i know that I just wanted to be sure how LED should work in LWW.
I've switched between ICS & Gingerbread many times. Now i'm on ICS. When i recieve any misscall LED beeps continuously, till removing the notification. but it doesn't happen for SMS or Email . I think its normal.
Hi Guys am using a Sony xperia arc s. I upgraded from 2.3.4 to ICS 4.0.4 using the Sony pc companion, which prompted me to upgrade. After using it for about 18 hours, the display has conked off. Every time i touch the screen, it leaves a faint trail. Also the top of the screen displays coordinates for which area I have touched the screen (in x-axis & y-axis). I did not drop the phone. Infact this happened when I connected my phone to the computer for charging and clicked on the USB debugging button. I tried undo-ing, restarting etc but doesnt change anything...
Please help...please!!!
a petty problem

Hi, so sorry for the vague thread title, but really, there's no other way to describe it. So here's what happened.
For the past few weeks (or month), my Xperia Ray has had a problem of switching on after it was put into standby mode, i.e. after i pressed the lock button. The screen would light up, however would remain blank. So all I would get is a bright black screen.
I could have lived with this for a few more months (until Xperia Z gets released in my country D: ) however this problem started getting worse. At first, after pressing the home button, the volume rockers and/or the lock button for about 20 times, the screen would turn on (finally). Despite it giving me that bright black screen, i could still operate the screen. I could still try to unlock it because of the haptic feedback on my lockscreen. I could still change music tracks on my music widget on my lockscreen. In short, the screen worked perfectly, only that it kinda wouldn't show. However, for the past week, the only way to turn it back on would be to do a battery pull and switch on the phone again. And it recently developed a problem of giving me that bright black screen again when I switch it on, causing me to do about 5 battery pulls before being able to actually use my phone again.
I did get fed up with this problem, being a heavy user of my phone. Therefore, today I decided to try to do a factory reset of my phone, intending to wipe the dalvik cache + clear all user data, thinking it might help my bright black screen problem. However, I found that I couldn't boot into recovery because all my phone would do was to give me that bright black screen again! So after many battery pulls, I managed to boot up my phone normally and do a factory reset under the backup & restore tab in settings. Of course, the phone tried to reboot itself, but of course, just gave me the bright black screen.
I kinda gave up at this point, and did many battery pulls and boots, however, all I got was either
1. the terrible bright black screen
or less frequently
2. the free xperia project logo then the terrible bright black screen.
I did get very fed up, so I plugged it into a wall socket to charge it. However, since about an hour or two ago, I realised it may be on bootloop. When I plug it into a wall socket, the free xperia project logo shows up and then an even brighter black screen shows up for about 3-5 minutes, then those two repeat endlessly. The notification light doesn't show that it's charging at all.
Okay here's background info on my phone.
- Is rooted
- Bootloader is unlocked
- CM 9.1 is installed
- Was running GO Launcher (if that helps)
- had a custom boot animation
- I think i deleted an apk for the google start up configuration thing...the one that asks if you have any google accounts you want to connect when you switch on your phone for the first time. I'll search up the correct apk name if you need it.
- Is about a year old (got it last early April)
- is a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (in case you didn't notice haha)
- battery level was about 20%+ when I did a factory reset (terrible of me I know)
- I have tried to caliberate the battery a few months ago
That's all the background info I can think you need. Please do let me know if you need any other info. If you need the logcat text of what happens when I hit the lock button at the top of my phone and the phone gives me the bright black screen (the early stages of this problem), let me know and I'll dig it up. I think I've bricked it, but I can't boot it into recovery so I can't do anything. And I did all I could google for the bright black screen problem which I won't tire you by specifying here. Please do help me. It seems as if the worst of evils has befallen my phone. Now I'm stuck here with my phone crazily on bootloop beside me. Please please do help.
Flash stock rom
Just try flashing a stock rom with Flashtool. If the problem persists, then it could be a hardware problem. Flashing a stock ftf takes care of all software issues. Get the stock ics FTF file and place it in firmwares folder of flashtool. Start flashtool and select flash mode. Then choose your ftf and press ok. Then wait until it prompts you to connect your phone. Then, just turn off your phone, while holding the power button down attach the USB cable. The LED notification should turn green and wait until it finishes flashing.
flash extended stock kernel and then the stock ftf firmware file...
hit thanks if i helped u

Hi, if your phone can still be switched on and hasn't progressed so far in being destroyed, you could try downloading the Disable Auto Brightness app for Xperia phones from the Play Store. I've read somewhere that the screen might not turn on because of the auto brightness. I'm not sure if it actually helps, but perhaps my phone would have died faster without it. I've read of people changing their battery, doing battery calibrations or changing their screen to fix the problem. But before you change the hardware, I suggest that you check the hardware first. If the Disable Auto Brightness doesn't work, do a Nandroid backup and store the backup somewhere safe. Then flash the stock firmware to your phone and try to get it to switch on. Do flash the firmware before your phone runs out of battery because you never know, your phone may decide to refuse to charge your battery anytime. Then try to switch it on. If your phone goes into a bootloop (like mine now) really consider getting a new phone or sending it for repair or try all day to fix it if you use your phone alot. I'm still trying to fix mine.
I flashed the original firmware for my phone, tried to turn it on, was very happy when I saw the original Xperia logo, but then I realised it was on bootloop. When I tried to charge it, it immediately turns on and goes into bootloop again. Logcat doesn't detect my phone, so I can't obtain the logcat of what's happening. I haven't tried to replace the battery of my phone because I couldn't find a supplier. But I'll go on trying to fix my phone until the day that it really breaks down. Good luck with yours and keep us posted.
