Hi there,
Does anyone have any hands on experience with any Bluetooth keyboards? I'm looking at getting one as i use a lot of office apps on my Note 3.
Can anyone recommend a certain model or brand?
Thanks!

Hi my friend,
Take the Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard ! So far, it is a well built keyboard. When paired with your note 3 all special keys are automatically recognized : Brigthness, volume, multimedia and even exposé button works like a charm. ALT-TAB is working as well to switch from one application to another one.
Cheers
Motorola had one on sale awhile back for $20. Has worked great the few times I've used it.

This is the one I have used for my Android phones and tablets for about a year and a half.

Works great and has Android specific keys that let you do some things right from the keyboard.
I like the Logitech K-810 because it can be paired with three devices at once and hot-key switch between them. Also like the light-up feature when you put your hands near it. Tested and works great with the N3.
Have a pair of Microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard and mouse 5000. Got them from Officemax or Office Depot in 2010 for $100 pair. They both have auto off just in case you forget to switch them off. Battery last for months. The keyboard had a soft texture mixed with a gloss finish and the keys make no sound when pushed. Worked with my S3 and Note 2 and now my Note 3.

Logitech K810, it's perfect. I use it for my desktop, for note 3 and also for my Nexus 10, since it has three easy switch buttons.

stupid question:
are you able to pair a bluetooth keyboard (K810) and a bluetooth mouse with the GalNote3 and use both at the same time?
Well I use Apple bluetooth keyboard for my N3 and I like it.....earlier I have also used it with my ipad and I did not find any problem in using that...so I would say its a very reliable one to use....

You can pair three devices as I do all the time with the Galaxy Note 3. Keyboard and mouse and bluetooth headphones. I mostly do that when its connected wireless via miracast to my tv. Its a beast:thumbup:
What about folding / small portable keyboards?
I happened to see a folding BT keyboard in Brookstone this weekend.
They had a display model and I tested it with my Note 3.
It seemed decent, but I have not yet looked at alternatives yet.
While the Logitech K810 is nice (I have a similar solar flat USB leyboard from Logitech), I am looking for a small, portable keyboard that I can take on the road (vacations etc.).
The Brookstone one is nice for those looking for a smalll portable keyboard (runs about $59.99 so there may be a more affordable alternative).
They also have this one that is a little bigger but still portable in my opinion, perhaps a good balance between form and function.
It is no cheap though! executive-bluetooth-keyboard-set-with-sleeve
They also have a virtual keyboard that uses a projection of a keyboard onto your desk.
Probably an acquired taste.
I just saw a Verbatim BT folding keyboard that is larger, however.
I like the idea of a foldable keyboard, but those I've encountered are very plastic and break easily, are there any high quality keyboards that you can fold up and have in the pocket?

It is not very good for typing, but it might be ok for gaming. The keys are small and sit clutch to each other so it is very easy to make typos.

I think that ebay description is wrong, though. Going from the picture, it's clearly in portrait mode given the width of the tab holder compared to the keyboard, not to mention that's the only way to dock with it since the charging/data port is on that side.

Yeah I was wondering about that....unless you used some kind of 30 pin cord to jury rig the connection I don't see how it can work in landscape mode.
Honestly, if all you want is a keyboard for your Tab, and something to prop it up while you're typing, you're probably going to be better off just getting a bluetooth keyboard and some kind of decent stand. Of course, a bluetooth mouse would just complete the set!
It might cost more to buy all those things together, but at least you can use them later on down the road with other hardware...

That thing is kind of neat, but it's not really practical to use with a tablet. You can't use it with the tablet in front of the keyboard like you could with any regular Bluetooth keyboard because the tablet would block the laser. Plus, it won't have the tactile feel of a keyboard, which is the main reason that people want an external keyboard for their tablet in the first place. Not to even mention the price.
Still, cool idea.

Hi guys, I was wondering...which bluetooth keyboards work well with the Prime.
What would you recommend???
If you need a keyboard for the Prime, I would recommend the Asus Keyboard dock made specifically for use with the Prime. Not only is it a decent small keyboard, but the extra battery life, Prime specific function keys and full sized USB port make it more useful than any standalone keyboard.
If you don't want the Asus keyboard dock, in order to help you find a keyboard that meets your needs it would be helpful to know what your specific needs are.
Do you want something ultra portable?
Do you want a full-sized keyboard?
Do you need a track pad?
Etc.
I wouldn't want to buy the keyboard dock, I think it's way overpriced ( 130 euros is the cheapest I've found in the eu ) and you can't use it in portrait mode, right?
As far as portability is concerned, I'd definitely need sth quite portable but not really tiny, you know..
So, NO trackpad and a blend between portability and comfort while typing

As whacko suggested, the keyboard dock has so many benefits, that, while it's more expensive, I'd still recommend it.
The ability to add battery life, fold closed and use as a quasi-net book, keys specific to the Android OS make it a natural choice!
The other choice, if you're set on not getting a dock (they've come down in price, here in the U.S.) might be the Celluon Magic Cube. It's remarkably portable, allowing you to simply carry a small box with you, then projects the images of a keyboard on the table your TP is on.

I personally use a Logitech K750 keyboard. Solar powered, so you don't ever need to worry about batteries going dead, and it has very nice keyboard feedback (something, obviously, the Magic Cube lacks!), and is also much less then the first two options.
However, while thin and light, it IS rather long, so not the most practical to carry around and transport.
Sorry... these are the best options I know of.
Thanks for the info man! I do have the K750, it's a great keyboard, but I'd prefer sth smaller
That magic cube sounds interesting, I think I'll check it out
Hey,
This may not be the best place to post this but seemed kinda relevant.
I recently saw the Iogear multi-link bluetooth keyboard which I thought looked pretty cool. (Can't post the link yet...spam filters)
At home I have a tablet stand next to my computer monitor, and I've been playing around with extending my desktop onto my Prime and stuff like that, but I'd also like to use them separately.
I loved the idea of having a bluetooth keyboard I could use for both, not that it needs to be portable, but so I can sit on my bed and use it etc. and also, having one that could be used for both seems awesome.
The thing is, I would like it to replace my current keyboard for my PC, and I'd go mad without a numpad, and the mouse tracker just looks nasty. Does anybody know of a bluetooth keyboard/mouse setup which can be linked to multiple devices (including the transformer prime) and switched between with relative ease?
I bought a Microsoft 6000 bluetooth portable mini keyboard that's notebook size. It's a tad wider than the prime. The nice thing about it, stores like Staples and Office Depot probably carry them. So you can actually go into the store and hold them, look them over, etc. It also comes with a bluetooth number pad in a little carrying case and it's separate, so you can leave it packed away if you don't need to use it.
I bought this keyboard for my stepdad for a different tablet, and it was about a year ago I think. Now I'm sure there's a newer model number, I'll have to do a search in just a bit. Back when I bought it, there was a Microsoft 6000 Notebook Wireless Keyboard (bluetooth) and a 6000 Desktop USB keyboard, so if you google it and see different results or specs it's because it's not the portable laptop size version.
I know where the keyboard is, today sometime I will test out how it's working with the prime for you. I bet you could order the same model really cheap on ebay but since it's a good bit older, we need to check and make sure it works well.

Probably not something you're willing to do, but since way back when, when I had my Droid Razr, I used a Wii Controller with the attachment, because it linked via Bluetooth. There is an app that doesn't require root on the Play Store to use it by essentially using it as a keyboard attachment. As long as the game supports mapping buttons though, I would imagine any Bluetooth controller would work the same way. I don't see why you would need a root for that to work.

I am looking for something that attaches to the nexus 6 making it one handheld device. I could use a Wii remote, but then I would have to prop my phone on something to play a game.
first of all the xbox 360 usb controller works like a charm when connected via usb otg, secondly i suggest you make something like they did in this video. it wont be pretty but it will work
http://technabob.com/blog/2013/09/02/make-your-own-nvidia-shield/
or check this out and see if it works for the nexus 6 http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Smart-Clip-Xbox-One/dp/B00FLLFM0Q
or even better, this http://utorcase.com/
I also don't know of an attachable controller but I do recomment the SteelSeries Free combined with a case that has a kickstand. I have 2 and I play games when parked with my N6 mounted in the windshield. Car audio combined with the N6 killer screen is pretty awesome.
I bought the Moga Pro Power for $80, only to be extremely disappointed that almost none of the games that support Moga, support it in Lollipop, but do in kit kat. As if now, its useless for my phone which sucks because this thing is the perfect size for gaming, in due time it should work well.
I'm still thinking something like GameKlip casemount + PS3. I had this on my S3.
I use a PS3 controller with my N6 and did the same on my previous phone the S4. However, in order to use it properly, you need to be able to run SixAxis Controller and that needs root.
PS You live fairly close to me. The people who used to live in my house moved 15 miles away to Oxenhope - Yorkshire FTW.

You only need to use six axis for a wireless (blue tooth ) connection.. When I bought my gameklip for s3, it came with a really small usb cable and OTG. Its not the tidiest solution, but it works.
The main issue with game pads is the lack of compatibility. Having to map touch controls can be pretty painful too.
What I'm actually doing is buying a cling universal game pad.. Its not a gamepad at all though. It just sticks the handles on the phone so you can hold it like one, though it will probably need sawing in half to extend it to fit

I think that will work great with driving games if you don't mind using tilt for steering.
Still, no way around poor control for FPS games though. The main issue is if you use left thumb for movement and right for aim, you can't do both and shoot at the same time.. I wish you could buy clip on shoulder buttons that have an adjustable capacitive pen "nib' to touch parts of the screen. I've designed it in my head but nothing I can do to make that a reality. Why can't they just make all games game pad compatible?
Yeah, i love it in Oxenhope.lovely part of the world. Where did they move to? Where are you?

I tried to PM you since this is decidedly off topic but I live in Ilkley and they moved to the cluster of houses a few hundred metres before that really tight right-hand bend on Hebden Bridge Road (on the way out to Hebden Bridge). I was brought up in East Yorks but I always loved the moors in West and North Yorks.

Any logitech keyboard or mouse or both with the unifying connector will work, but youll need the micro usb male to standard usb female adapter. te adapter is mega useful besides just this IMHO

I use the Samsung Bluetooth keyboard (the blue aluminum one) & S-Mouse & its about replaced my laptop completely... hell, its about replaced my PC, too!!!
....What i cant seem to find is a stylus!! I have a Note5, N-10.1, & the NotePro (12.2") ----I'm a graphic designer-- and I'm used to the S-pens and how amazing the artwork is that comes from using them.. I know there HAS to be a bluetooth version, or even a thin-enough capacitive stylus would do the trick.. I can create some amazing stuff with the cheap-o stylus i bought the same day as the tablet, but there's better ---i know it!! ...any ideas? ...PS, i've tried to sneak-open or even ask an employee to let me try some out at the store, but they never let me or i'm unable to do it myself without their help.. i've bought a few bluetooth digitized stylii and they didn't seem to want to work on it .......i'm tired of making returns.. lol!
BT keyboard, $77 on Amazon (this is cheap compared to in-stores when i bought it, but I price-matched with amazon @ BestBuy for $30-off!): https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EE-B...24&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+bluetooth+keyboard
Samsung S-Action Mouse, $23 now on Amazon vs. 39 @ Fry's... https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Mous..._SR160,160_&psc=1&refRID=M98MXVSCHHF9MCMVHMG3

I bought a Samsung capacitive stylus (from this site fonejoy.com/genuine-samsung-t365-galaxy-tab-active-stylus-pen-gh98-34603a.html ) with the intention of using it on the Galaxy View. However, it doesn't work on Galaxy View. It's mind boggling because this stylus comes with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active and is supposedly an ordinary capacitive stylus (source: sammobile.com/2014/09/25/samsung-galaxy-tab-active-hands-on ) . Does a capacitive stylus work on the Galaxy View???
