Do the steps for rooting any galaxy device remain the same?
Like installing cwm via Odin and flashing supersu?
Can I use the same versions of Odin and supersu which I used for rooting my galaxy grand?

Hi all,
what are major differences between flashing with Odin or CWM?
Is root mandatory?
Are some cases where you cannot flash a rom with Odin but only with CWM?
At first look with odin seems to be more beginers way
Thank you.

Does not require root usually for stock Samsung roms or kernels
or CWM?
Usually for custom roms modems etc requires root and CWM install .

YES as above
All the above information is found in the FAQS and |GUIDES .

Hello guys, i found the Android Revolution HD rom pretty awesome,it fits my style(stock, fast etc) but i don`t know how to flash it, i have Galaxy s3 i9300 International version Unbranded never locked on any carrier, firmware 4.1.2 i9300XXEMC2 stock kernel, my phone isn`t even rooted...i had a galaxy s1 and s2 before but im not so experienced with rooting the galaxy s3, in that ROM section how to install it tells me i need Custom Recovery, and now my questions are :
1. how i flash galaxy s3 i9300 ? i found chainfire method but i read that it doesn`t support custom recovery ... so what`s the method?
2. wich version i must flash ? what are the differences ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334 the 25.0 or 35.5 version?
HEEEELP ! PLEASE
If you read both chainfires thread and the revolution thread properly then all is completely clear.....don't skim it....read them both PROPERLY ....if you can't be bothered to do this then the chances are you will brick your phone
I just read the revolution thread and found the answer within 1 minute
I know Chainfire thread is 100% clear

My routine is this (I use cf root)(old recovery included)
Flash cf root
Update to Phil's with either Odin or mobile Odin or through recovery
Job done

No worries, always pays to take your time and work it all out yourself, then you really understand what you are doing
I just update my S3 with this Tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
I had Rooted in 4.1.2 with SuperSu on it , Now after update in 4.3 I still have SuperSU but when i open it says:
If you just upgraded to Android 4.3, you need to manually re-root .
now i need to know if i have to root again with This : CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4
or there is another method ?
here is Screenshot , setting/about.
Don't use cf root. please re-read general > sticky roll-up > understanding the basics before rooting

So i need to User CF-Auto-Root , but again im not sure if CF-Auto-Root works with Android 4.3
Avoid using CF-root as support has been dropped long ago. Use PhilZ Kernel to root your phone. It automatically installs root + custom touch-based recovery and works like a charm.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953
However since you're already on 4.3 you'll have to reflash a 4.1.2 ROM before flashing any of the PhilZ kernels as they are not yet built on the 4.3 kernel source code. You may get a boot loop if you attempt to flash it while running 4.3.

OK one more question .
Does it Depend on version of Android , Root process ?
example : is it same way to root 4.1.2 and 4.3 with same tools ?

1) philz is a recovery not a kernel
2) it does not automatically root anything. You have to flash a zip via philz recovery.
This is all documented in post 2 of the thread you linked

There aren't any rooting methods for SGS3 running 4.3 yet as it is new. But seeing how 4.3 introduced new security updates which broke root on some devices. The method of rooting the S3 on 4.3 may change as well though I'm not sure by how much. But rooting methods with regards to 4.1.2, yes they are the same.

So i cant Root my S3 running 4.3 yet ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509764
here we have a pre rooted 4.3 rom so 4.3 is rooted /
Post that says you cannot root 4.3 ?????

Whoops my bad. I've always thought of PhilZ as a safe kernel with recovery and root the moment you flash it.
In any case, OP should still use it.

someone who knew what he was talking about said you shouldn't use chainfire's method on 4.3. Listen to him.
The fact that it worked for you doesn't mean that it'll work for everyone. SO DON'T GIVE ADVICE.
So you're not the person who knows what he's talking about? Maybe your answer would be more useful if you could explain why not to use SuperSU in stead of just telling other people not to five advice. Or don't give advice yourself.

hello devs,
i have an international variant GT-I9300 . I upgraded it with the ATO(OPEN AUSTRIA) . After this upgrade ,i was not able to root ...i used the CF AUTO ROOT , SUPERSU , and even mobogeine root method . its getting failed....
please help me devs......i would like to root it...either to get a stable international variant ROM.
If you intend to then flash a custom rom then don't bother rooting your stock firmware, all custom roms are already rooted.
If you want to stay stock then flash a prerooted version via odin, get a link for one on xda in general forum.

i checked the whole procedure of it as u told.... but while i am flashing CFROOT but it is showing "FAILED SIGNATURE VERIFICATION" . and the same thing for superSU ......
so...in case if i flash PHILZ RECOVERY or CWM ......without rooting........ will my phone get bricked ???...
Check out Cyanogenmod Installer follow the instrustion it will root and install the latest stable CM for your phone .
You are still missing basic knowledge, you can't flash anything with stock recovery.
Flashing recovery doesn't require root, but you can brick the phone if you don't understand what you are doing.
I tried to root my galaxy s3(with CWM in odin) but ended up being in stock recovery after doing the things with ODIN. What to do now?
Thanks
Search, read, learn as you did something wrong. Start with the sticky thread in general forum.
