Phone does not turn on when you unlock the bootloader - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, my phone Sony Xperia Tipo does not turn on when you unlock the bootloader .. I wanted to install the roma http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305480
2 times I tried to unlock the phone but always stuttered with the inscription "Sony" and nothing further will not load any. I'm flashing boot.img and did so as a guide rome but always the same; /.
You know what I did wrong maybe?
Sorry so much for my grammar, but nowhere else received a reply and xda is the most popular page.

[Q] Just flashed to .73 and noticed something...

Good afternoon! (or morning depending on where you are lol)
Just flashed my XS to .73 and noticed that is said the following:
"Bootloader status: ROOTABLE"
Does that mean I could root my phone?
Cheers
Where did it say that?
I assume that you saw that in flashtool, in which case, yes!
It said it in Flashtools itslef whilst it was in the middle of flashing it from .67 to .73...
The reason I noticed it at all is because when I had the phone the bootloader wasn't unlockable (checked and it has "No" next to it in the service menu) and now it has changed to "Yes" since flashing it to the new firmware...
I didn't think there was a way to change the bootloader unlockable status from No to Yes yet?
Apparently kind sir, you found the bootloader unlocking workaround for the people with Orange
Pat your self on the back, you just made a lot of peoples lives much easier
Have you tried to unlock your bootloader now? From what it sounds like it should be entirely possible now.
I'll drink to that!
Just to add, this phone isn't an Orange phone, it is a sim free device from CPW I had with an Orange contract if that makes any difference...
Might still be an Orange phone but it has no branding either on the phone or in the software from what I can see, how can I check this?
Hmm...that I'm not soo sure...:/
But if it said "No" before and now it gives a "Yes" I imagine there is hope for the Orange branded people even if yours isn't Orange branded
Edit: Sorry! it was O2 people with the unlocking problem D: Disregard my past post. though you may be onto something xD
Well if any of the developers see this maybe they can make use of it, if it is of any use at all lol
Regardless, there are 2 things for certain:
My phones bootloader was NOT unlockable before the flash to .73
Since the flash, it IS now unlockable
I have just got the unlock key from Sony so will try to unock my bootloader now
Well after several attampts to unlock the bootloader on my phone I still can't solve the driver issue on the PC
My phone only stays on the 'fastboot' mode for a few seconds and then changes to the HSUSB mode
Driving me insane!
Tried several times, the first time it installed, and I have used the downloaded drivers from a link in the dev section but I still get this issue where it wont stay in fastboot mode for more than 3-5 seconds

There is a good workaround in the thread for the unlocked bootloader, I assume you are on Windows 7? It takes a few tries but focus on updating the driver.
Yes I am on Windows 7 Ultimate...
The biggest issue is it keeps telling me that "I already have the best driver installed" and yet it wont stay in fastboot mode...
Doing my nut in!
Well after seeing this, decided to flash .73 just to see if I also got the same result.
Whilst I was on .63 I had Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Whilst I was on .67 I had Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Just flashed to .73 and Bootloader unlock allowed: No
So unfortunately, bootloader is still locked for me

I'd love to know how it happened, could help others! Either way unlocking the bootloader is such a pain that I may actually not bother...
I'd love to root my xs but it's a butt load of effort just to get rid of some bloatware apps!

[Q] Is my bootloader already unlocked?

Hello,
im trying to get a cfw on my x10i ( which i bought second hand a while ago and dont know what already bin done whit it ). Which means i have to unlock my bootloader, ive tryed s1tool which wont work for me. ( gives me an error about not finding some path, did read somewhere that repairing phone firmware with seus should fix that.)
Also i did read somewhere ( unfortunatly i cant find it anymore, shame on me ) something about a small r and a big R within the bootversion, but im not sure anymore.. the small r meant it was unlocked? Or im i mistaking? My bootversion says:
s1 boot version: 1226-2253 r8AO33. ( found it within service menu --> software info. )
So does this mean my phone already got an unlocked bootloader and i can install a cf without myself going through the hassle of unlocking my bootloader, or does it mean something else?
Hoping some one could help me out on this,
Greeting mellowbug.
does it show sony ericson logo on booting????? if its unlocked..it shouldnt show usually....
At OP, yes your bootloader is unlocked. Happy flashing
@smithinsundar: Unlocking the bootloader does not imply that the SE boot logo would vanish. This is related to the boot logo which is in the kernel itself. So only by flashing a kernel for unlocked bootloaders would make the SE logo go away.
Oke great, thanks aR_ChRiS now i can start flashing and feeling i bit more secure. Yeah..
greetings. mellowbug.

[Q] Is my bootloader unlocked or not.....unsure

Hi, i'm confused, i flashed my xperia x10i with x10_2.3.3_stock-with-xrecovery-v3.ftf, when i boot up,i get the custom logo as seen on youtube. When i dial the code in to get the system settings menu up, there is no sign of bootloader info, according to SE web site if this is'nt present then it can't be unlocked. Also, i can still use TrackID.
So, am i locked or unlocked ? ......Anyone ?......Please.
Problem solved,thanx to this post

my phone had the small r,so that meant the bootloader was unlocked,
Thanx Guys

Seems Bricked :)

Hi Guys,
My xperia mini pro was acting kinda wierd lately with the phone getting stuck while using the slider keyboard. This went on for a day and then the speaker on the phone stopped working and i was forced to use the headset for all calls. Then the very next day, the display went off completely. I have not rooted the phone and its on stock OS. Bootloader is locked too.
I used the search option and found this link which almost completely explains my issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918271
Did as told there, SUS did find my phone and i could reinstall the OS, but it still didnt bring back the display.
So i m off to service center to get the flex cable changed.. :good: wonder y they make this thing so, if the cable damage is almost certain.
My q. is can i unlock my bootloader once the phone arrives from service? I am on 11W49. Had seen a similar thread saying anything after 11w29+ will brick the phone, but it was for Xperia X8. I am using the Xperia mini pro, will it brick the phone? i wanted to load MiUi on it
Unlock it using the official method by sony and it won't brick
If you want to know how to do this, read my guide on how to unlock the bootloader
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3
Thanks mihahn,
Will do it once i get it back from service.
The issue of hard bricking would be applicable to X8 alone i suppose.
U can also try unlock it using test poin method. My XMP is 12W07 and everything went fine. But U must be sure, that in service menu under rooting status is Bootloader unlock allowed: yes Otherwise U won't be able to unlock bootloader for free

[Q] Xperia P - Bootloader unlock in NOT ALLOWED

Hi,
In first, sorry for bad Eng! I have a Xperia from my friend. He wanted to install better ROM on his phone. As i read, bootloader in different mobile operators is permanently locked... That was on this phone from T-Mobile (im from Poland). But I took the directions on the website of Sony and took the unlock code. When I entered it, as they posted it in their site, I saw that BL is UNLOCKED.
And now I have a question: Can I brick phone if I will start to install ROM? Phone got root access, unlocked simlock (it was when I was unlocking bootloader), installed CWM...
Thanks a lot for any help!
F5
You simply have an unlocked device... What could happen? My friend also has Xperia P from t-Mobile and I checked, he has no simlock or other restrictions. I guess, if you follow advices in the topics about flashing etc. your device won't get hurt.
mine Too
i have a xperia p LT22i
with bootloader unlock NOT ALLOWED
And No sim-lock
I asked Sony's suppport team to do something to make my phone Unlockable
Right now you can't do anything because the fastboot mode is not working
you can't flash a custom kernel
you can't unlock the boot loader
because the fastboot is disabled
like my F** Xperia P
