Contract up in Sept.

I'm so nervous about changing phones because I'm not sure what will be available come September. I like phones 4' & lower. I don't care for the bigger screens.

If my contract was up in September, I'd be getting the bionic.

I agree that phones are getting too big for my taste. Would be nice to at least have a dual core option with a screen <= 4 inches but I guess we'll have to learn to love a bigger phone. Here are the likely options come September:
Dual Core
Galaxy S II(Function) - 4.3" SAMOLED+, 4.93" x 2.6" x .334"?, 4.1oz, 1.2GHz Exynos, Mali-400 MP, 1GB, LTE?
Bionic - 4.3 or 4.5" LCD, ? dimensions, 1 or 1.2GHz OMAP 44xx, SGX540, 1GB, LTE
Droid X2 - 4.3" LCD, 5.02" x 2.58" x .39", 5.5oz, 1GHz Tegra 2, ULP GeForce, 512MB
Droid 3 - 4" LCD, 4.9" x 2.5" x .5", 6oz, 1GHz OMAP 4430, SGX540, 512MB
Single Core
Droid Incredible 2 - 4" SLCD, 4.75" x 2.52" x .48", 4.76oz, 1GHz 2nd Gen Snapdragon, Adreno 205, 768MB
Droid Charge - 4.3" SAMOLED+, 4.82" x 2.53" x .39-.55", 5.04oz, 1GHz Hummingbird, SGX540, 512MB, LTE
ThunderBolt - 4.3" LCD, 4.85" x 2.65" x .54", 6.23oz, 1GHz 2nd Gen Snapdragon, Adreno 205, 768MB LTE
Revolution - 4.3" LCD, 5.03" x 2.63" x 0.52", 6.08oz, 1GHz 2nd Gen Snapdragon, Adreno 205, 512MB, LTE
Droid Eris - 3.2" LCD, 4.45" x 2.19" .51", 4.8oz, 528MHz, integrated GPU, 288MB
I want HTC to come out with a dual core LTE phone on Verizon. Then I would be truly satisfied (for 6 months anyway).

later in the year, look for phones using the dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 which will be 1.5 - 1.7 Ghz, and both 3G and 4G all in one chip. That's what I'm waiting for... (I even think there is a chance of this particular chip being used in the next [not-orange phone 5]. I wouldn't say apple in this forum.... Oooooops
I doubt it will still be available, but i would probably think about getting the samsung fascinate. It has a 1 ghrz processor and only a 5mb led camera. I'm cheap and don't want to spend over $100 for my phone. Hopefully, Droid Incredible 2 will be cheaper by Sept 15.
My contract is up in Nov. As of right now I'm leaning towards DInc2. But who knows what will happen come Nov or Dec

I know.... I was following the thread about obtaining s-off for like the last month. LOL
I really like the phone a lot. My brother in law has the incredible and i just want to take it from him and really modify it. He does have a custom rom on his, but so much more could be done. I really like the incredible, but they are to expensive on ebay.
I hope the incred will be cheaper come sept.
Well, if you get one i can't wait for a rom from you.
Wife has inc2, loves it. not sure what I'm going to get yet, come oct

[Q] Galaxy S III - Quad Core 1 Gig vs Dual Core 2 Gig

http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-hit-canada-june-20-2-gb-ram-confirmed
So as the title suggest, what is better? Is the Quad Core 1 Gig better than the Dual Core 2 Gig versions of the S III? What about the video quality on the 2 Gig version? Is that going to suffer? And even more, is it worth jumping to the S III if you are on the Galaxy Nexus?
My initial thought is with Apex Pro installed as the UI the S III will feel close to the GNex but with more RAM so it may be an upgrade although a minor one.
What are your thoughts on this? Everybody weigh in.
Thanks!!!
2 gb I will take hands down. LTE and the s4 combo works well, as proven by the HOX

If only I have a choice. Dual core 2gb Ram is of course better. With LTE support, is definitely way better than Quad core.

Q hmm ....resembles Q&A..
Don't know if you care about audio, but we don't know yet if the dual core version will still keep the Wolfson DAC.
If the LTE version will have the same battery capacity of 2100 mAh as the international counterpart definitely will have a better battery life.
I guess I made the assumption that the Audio would be the same...not a good thing to do I guess.

Iam thinking about buying an Desire X, can you tell me how is battery? How about performance?system reactions and gaming?thanks for answer
Battery perfomance gaming.
Ah yes, the Desire X is perfect for gaming, for a full game experience i suggest riptide GP, and about the battery, it's great, if you want to use it to the max, be carefull to not have to many apps open. And the perfomance is awesome, altough it's just 1 ghz, when using it, it won't differ that much from the HTC One X, so this is the best phone for mid-budget prices.

Performance feels good, not super fast but fast enough not to annoy me with any lag.
Battery lasts about two or three days here on regular usage. But I haven't yet installed SetCPU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419) yet, so it might last longer in the future.
I'm kind of thinking about getting this phone but by the time I can change (27 Dec 2012) there are gonna be lots more new phone out by then.

Is there a setting to put wallpapers at the screen rezolution(480x800) ? Only picture that are 960x800 work and it's a bit tricky to set it on the screen because i have to drag that frame every time.
Ehm, i dont know, i just use the standard HTC wallpaper, sorry.

One X+ Hardware

just wondering, does the one x+ use the same ram as the og one x or the faster ram in the transformer infinity, could the display be replaced with an original one x display, also which one of the three is the best? thanks
I've read somewhere that the HOX+ uses a faster clocked ram than the og HOX. Not sure about specifics.
