Is It Just me or is there an issue with Android & (some) Bluetooth Stereo Devices?
Using a Jabra BT3030 I get the lovely convenience of receiving a phonecall and wirelessly listening to music but, it just seems VERY buggy at times. The main thing is after being on a call (mostly receiving a call but many times making a call also bugs things up) and trying to play music or any audio in the G1, sound just stutters baaadly
Thought it was just when my G1 was rooted but as I run it on stock still get the same thing. When I toyed around with the Motorola Droid in Verizon store the other day after wowing myself and seeing that it had a working phone signal I paired my headset to it and played music & watched youtube vids on there... after calling the Droid phone and then trying to play back sounds guess what? Stuttering playback!!
The stuttering stops when I turn the Jabra off then back on but (a) this is annoying for obvious reasons (b) there may be times when things are finicky with pairing/re-pairing headset with phone. There's other little annoyances here & there like some lag @ times when trying to pause/ff/rw but the stuttering crap annoys me and going by the Droid running 2.0 it's still a problem then.
Thus I'm wondering how everyone's experience is with whatever bluetooth stereo (A2DP) device their pairing with their G1's (or any other android device you using). I'm hoping it isn't just my Jabra BT3030 but sadly accept the possibility it -could- be the culprit . Phonecalls for the most part are clear even while sound goes through buggy (altho I had a couple moments where the phone would reboot when a call comes in on my Dream but didn't happen in a while *knocks on wood*).
I am also having problems with my Jabra BT3030. Im using BlueMagic MKrII ROM. Major issue is that I cannot go foward or backwards between tracks, nor pause or play. Only the volume works. And I've noticed that when I artivate the google voice app, my music stutters from then on.
ok, this has been plaguing me and preventing me from switching permanently to 2.2 since the camera has been fixed.
the problem:
you pair your bluetooth device and connect. media works fine. then disconnect and turn off bluetooth and the bt device. turn everything back on, and media won't play through the bluetooth device.
the cause:
well, i have been using the same jabra sp700 for a few years now. worked great on all my devices (iphone 2g, iphone 3g, dream, various nokias and my x10 up to 2.1). well, apparently 2.2+ android requires a bluetooth device that supports avrcp or the avrcp handling of 2.2+ roms require avrcp to work on the bluetooth device. however, my sp700 (and i would imagine other older bt devices) either do not have this or it doesn't work as android wants it to.
the solution (tested multiple times, works sometimes, not others):
pair and connect, go into settings and disable "phone audio" for the bluetooth device.
kind of sucks since this is my car speaker phone, but i use it for media more than i use it for phone. but i have connected/disconnected several times and media is still playing through the bt and not the phone speaker.
so those who have bt media problems with 2.2+ roms, try this, it may work for you.
will this fix the problem? http://www.foogod.com/android/ ?
it is the same with MW600 headset on Wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3 0.54 ROM.
what happens for me:
both devices were paired in the past and remember each other. I turn on BT on the phone and power on the headset. press play in the music player - nothing plays, it hangs and come back to paused state.
when I press play for second time music comes from headphone speaker.
what helps:
stop the playback at this point. turn the headset off and on again. press play and the music should play through it. with both music headset and phone audio profiles active.
this is how I have to do it every single time. headset works normaly afterwards until you turn the BT off on the phone again. it's just a little inconvenience.
what troubles me more are the short gaps in the playback you get about every minute and when you turn the screen off.

does not work
what about the method I wrote about? I think it is the same problem.
power off/on your headset again when the music starts playing from the headphone speaker used normally for calls. every single time this happens it fixes this for me.

that was working on and off for me. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
i made some modifications to the bluetooth audio.conf, will test those on my way home tonight.
no problems here with my bluetooth and i'm using wolfbreaks' 2.2 rom. i'm using a sony dr-bt50 headphones.
I've been having this problem with my headset too (hbh is800) and I'll try once I get back from home. Hopefully it works. I've tried the foogod link before and it never helped. I've been experiencing the bluetooth problem with my watch too (mbw 150) it connects and later it disconnects. and the cycle keeps repeating.
I have the same problem with dante-fu. I use Wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3 v0.54 ROM and MW600 headset. But turn on/off headset doesn`t help me sometimes and I have to re-pair devices.
I'm too having some problems with my mw600 head set.
Sometimes it does not play through the Bluetooth headset but through the speaker of the phone (it happens rarely)
But the most annoying thing is after a call, my headset just freezes & nothing works expect for the power button. Only solution is to turn the device of & turning on it again.
Using Wolf's 2.2 CM ROM
well, this sucks, i've tried changing all the media configs and nothing.
only solution i can think of is porting the bluetooth stack from 2.1 to 2.2.
back to 2.1 since my bt speaker is the only option for music in my car since my kid decided to deposit $.42 into my cd player.
Blutooth Media streaming problem
Hello,
Has anyone had any luck resolving this issue?
It's starting to drive me crazy. Bluetooth phone calls work perfectly but media streaming works intermittently.
Is there an easy way to replace downgrade the blutooth stack?
I am running CM 6.13
I have a Jawbone ICON bluetooth headset. I used it with my iPhone 3Gs with no problems. I got the Galaxy S2 last week and installed Villain Rom. I paired up the headset and it worked great. A couple of days later I tried it again and there is no audio at all. It doesn't send my voice and I don't hear what the other person is saying. I do hear the various beeps, etc to show a call is being made, but as soon as there is a connection - nada.
I CAN use the headset to listen to audio from a video so the headset is working correctly. The pairing is fine and I can actually use the button on the headset to set the volume of the call - but no sound.
I've tried:
1) updated firmware on Jawbone to latest, includes A2DP
2) Installed Jawbone app on my phone - can see battery indicator, etc, etc
3) unpair/deleted the connection and recreated it
4) Made sure that both phone and media are selected for the connection
5) Updated Villain Rom to 2.4.2
6) retried steps 2-4 with latest rom
I'm sure that I didn't pair my headset until after I installed Villain the first time. I'm also sure that I didn't mess with the phone after it worked - because I was away for the weekend. I probably did install a couple of apps, but nothing related to bluetooth or that required root.
Any suggestions as to what to try next? I'm assuming that the audio is muted (can it be muted both directions?).
This is really important because I have the low microphone volume too (and any suggestions on that front would be appreciated too).
Just an update... Its finally working.
I believe the final solution was a manual reset of the headset. I also disconnected/unpaired the headset, repaired it and went into the bluetooth properties and removed permission to share media audio. After these changes it started working. Subsequently I went back in and re-enabled the media audio and it still works.
You would think updating the firmware would reset the headset, but apparently not.
I've flashed my T-959D (Telus) to SlimICS 4.2. Everything seems to work great (after I remapped the vol keys to reverse them back) except for bluetooth weirdness in my car.
The phone pairs correctly and I can make and take calls just as before, but at first glance it seems that while media audio was shown as connected, there was no sound when I played an mp3. So I tried a headphone cable into the aux jack of my car stereo and still nothing. However, when I pulled out the headphone jack from my phone, suddenly I had media playing over bluetooth... but only for about 2 seconds when the phone then mysteriously muted itself. I can repeat this process at will. No sound until I pull out the headphone jack... and then only for a second or two, then the phone mutes.
I'm assuming this must be some sort of setting or mixup with regards to the headset removal action. But I'm not sure where to check on this. Is there some sort of setting for it that might be screwed up? I really rely on my bluetooth audio for podcasts and music playback. I might have to go back to PassionICS since it worked there. But so far I like SlimICS a whole lot better and would rather get this working if I can.
Update - after installing the HeadphoneStatus app from the market, it appears that the phone thinks the headphones are plugged in when they are not. Not sure that this is a hardware issue since the thing worked perfectly this morning before flashing the rom.
Anyone experience this? connected to the car bluetooth, but when i off the infotaintment and stop the car, the music continue playing using the phone speaker. H'mmm not a bit issue but very troublesome to stop what is playing every time
I read in a review that there's a setting you can change which lets you have music continue playing after removing headphones or have it automatically pause, I believe this setting will also affect bluetooth audio as well, perhaps this will help? I can't say if it is this though, I haven't got mine yet but it will be good for me to know too as I connect my phone to my car's stereo via bluetooth and will do the same with the Z2.
