Hello, I have safestrap and I have it saying that it's installed, but when I reboot into recovery it just does the normal process. I've also tried booting directly into recovery, and it just reboots its self back into normal boot.
Any ideas?
It should show up everytime you do a normally reboot or power on your phone.
I have never used the power menu to reboot into recovery but I'm thinking that is what you are doing instead of just doing a normal reboot.

What recovery? o.o If you're talking about the Install button, yes.
Also, forgot to mention... I'm on MJ7

That would have been nice to mention up front as Safestrap doesn't work on MJ7.
It sounded like you had it working and it suddenly stopped working. If you took the OTA to MJ7, yeah, you're stuck.

adb reboot recovery
app called quickboot
rom manager reboot to recovery
3 finger salute
using the backup from rom manager facilitates a script to boot and backup
with samsungs recovery, and the implementation we have of cwm....just boot into recovery and do it from there

So I just tried to reboot to recovery, and got an "!" and then went to blue CWM, but then when I try to restart phone it's just putting me into blue recovery, and I can't seem to access any of the settings, and when I click anything I just get the hat icon. What's going on?

Go to the market and download "Reboot Recovery" a free app.
Then there will be no need to use rom manager.
All this app does is reboots you into cwm recovery and nothing else.
Just one click on the app's icon is all it takes.
Here is the link for "reboot recovery" http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/reboot+recovery
You can also just hold the power button and select reboot recovery
if you are running any of the custom roms here in XDA.
Good luck!

Yeah I'm just using the one touch quick-boot widget to go to CWM Recovery.
I'm running stock rooted with the cXXXX kernel (forgot his name) .. I haven't ventured out to other roms yet as I don't want to have to re-setup all my icons and apps, lol, lazy me

It more or less a very good replacement for Rom Manager and its fully compatible with our new phones.
You really should not use rom manager anymore or you will have problems :
At least forget about rom manager until they fix it to be really compatible
with our newly aquired wonder phones

Try uninstalling safestrap and then installing bootstrap if you can - then try to flash the rom again.

Yep - just go back into stock and delete the apk like you would any other application. Get bootstrap from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347767

Not at this time... there is a list of roms you are able to install here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448726
make sure to flash the kernel module before reboot..
I'm on VRUDMI1, rooted and I installed safestrap. Then I installed CM rom on the stock rom (which is a mistake, I know this know).
Then I reboot and I get the Safestrap splash screen that says Safestrap disabled with recovery and continue button. If I click on the recovery button it takes me back in to Safestrap. But if I click on the Continue button, it turns off my phone. How do I fix this? I would like to remove Safestrap and get my phone working again. Thank you in advanced.

Booting into recovery from the power menu is not supported. Either reboot and press the Menu button when the Safestrap splash screen comes up or use the Safestrap app to boot into Safestrap.

Then when the Safestrap splash screen comes up press the Menu button to go into recovery. If it doesn't come up at all, make sure you installed the recovery correctly and not just the app.

ok...installing safestrap is a 2 step process:
1. step one is to install the actual safestrap APK program
2. step two is to open safestrap program up and install the recovery.
then using your power off button to restart your phone, the safestrap splash screen will come up...hit the actual button (menu) to go into safestrap recovery, not the screen icon button.
please review the following thread before doing anything else to your phone

You can just uninstall the Safestrap App via Application Manager in Settings.
Having similar problem with safestrap
I have root access and SuperSU installed and working.
I downloaded the most recent version of safestrap (3.71 for mk2).
I open it and click install recovery. It does a few things and at the bottom it says "installed" but the status never changes to installed at the top and I can't reboot to recovery.
Any suggestions?
You may have to change SELinux to permissive.

The option on the safestrap menu. It stays grey.
Don't you need BusyBox install first before installing Safestrap

I think I may have a boot loop and not sure how to fix it. Anyone?
I got safestrap working. I installed hyperdrive and it said it installed successfully. I told it to reboot, safestrap says it's enabled, I click continue and then nothing...
By the way, I really appreciate all the help so far.
