[Q] USB Host stopped working after rooting - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
after I rooted a Nexus 10 the app I have written which connects to an Arduino in USB Host mode no longer works properly. I'm pretty sure this is because the USB Host mode is no longer available.
I have checked the original unrooted device with Chainfire's 'USB Host Diagnostics' tool and it recognises the plugged in Arduino whilst scanning, but nothing is detected after rooting.
Originally the device had Android 4.3 - build JWR66Y, and USB Host mode worked.
I rooted via the Nexus Root Toolkit and installed a rooted image of the same build, now the device isn't detected.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks

[Q] Charge port only charges but no data

I have a friend with a P7510 wifi edition tablet whose charge/data USB port only charges the tablet. It used to charge AND allow him to move data back and forth to PC or usb stick (with USB dongle) but ONLY charging works now.
Odin doesn't recognize the tablet, connecting it via usb to a computer plays the sound but the tablet is not recognized in windows at all. It is running stock TW. In addition, his tablet has on that broken version of firmware that Samsung pushed out several months ago that messed up screen rotation and Wifi. Booting to his stock recovery gives error so I can't even flash on another ROM.
Is there anyway to get him onto a new ROM and/or to fix his bootloader?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Are you sure you have the correct drivers install on your windows computer?
1000% sure the drivers are correct. I have even tried the tablet on my own PC since I've the P7510 as well. It also does not work with the usb dongle attachment and any usb device like you used to.
The linked picture is what I get when I boot into recovery mode.

[Q] [Q ; HELP] IMMEDIATE HELP for USB Debugging Problem

I have an LG L7 II Dual P715, and I was in 4.4.2 before, now I downgraded to Jellybean so that I'll be able to root it [I GOT THE KDZ FILE OF THE JB FIRMWARE FOR MY DEVICE FROM THIS LINK http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=21 ]. When I connected my phone to my laptop running windows 7 32-bit without turning on the USB Debugging yet and keep it in MTP connection, my phone got recognized immediately by the laptop (because i already had the drivers installed even before), but whenever I turn on the USB Debugging, when i connect it to my laptop, it just charges and it doesn't automatically enter the USB Connection Type where in i supposedly have to choose whether to use MTP connection or LG Software connection etc. unless I manually go to that section in the settings of the phone.
I have downloaded the driver of my phone. I even downloaded a universal driver of LG yet I still get the problem.
so basically, the problem is I CAN'T CONNECT MY PHONE TO MY LAPTOP IF IT'S IN A USB DEBUGGING MODE. I opened the Device Manager and I can't seem to find any trace of my device when it is in USB debugging mode Except if It is TURNED OFF.
What do you think is the problem with this? Is it my LG phone or the computer who has the problem? When I was in kitkat, I never experienced such issue, but when I flashed it back to JB, I cant rid of this problem anymore, PLEASE HELP, I badly want to connect my phone to the laptop while the USB Debugging is turned on.

If all you need is to root your device then you don't need USB debugging. You just need to use copy Framaroot's apk to your device and install it, and that you can do in MTP mode as well.

Never had similar problems with the USB drivers nor needed LG's tools, so can't help you there.

USB Debugging with New Update (KVT49L.VS98511C) [RESOLVED]

Prior to the latest OTA I was able to get USB Debugging working by changing the phone to a Connection Sharing mode and then to Ethernet specifically. Since taking the new update I have not been able to get adb to recognize the device. They removed the previous USB mode used and we only have Media and Camera modes now (both of which I tried). The phone itself is indicating that USB debugging is enabled and actively working, but I can't get it to show in adb itself. Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Steps tried:
Toggling developer mode off and on
Updating USB driver to the latest from the SDK manager
Media Sync Mode
Camera Mode
Restarting ADB multiple times
I had to install the latest drivers from the LG site itself, and change the usb port on my PC....then toggling Media Sync (MTP) and Camera (PTP), it finally gained adb access. Although, even with adb I still cannot root via ioroot.

Thanks, that did the trick!
The part about changing the USB port on your PC, is unclear to me. Did you have to change from a USB3 port to a USB2 port ? Or did you mean that the USB2 port you had previously been using successfully would no longer work ?
I am worried about USB2 ports being required, since many new laptops now only include USB3 ports.

Went from a previously working usb3 to a previously working usb2 and neither worked.....plugged it into another usb2 on the back of my case and surprisingly it worked. Perhaps remove the device/drivers from the old usb ports you had been using then re-install the new drivers again.....maybe that will work.

Do you have a link for the driver? Tried so many and no love.
Is this it? http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00520120427
EDIT: Above link worked, thanks!

[Q] usb connection not recognized on PC

When I tried to connect my rezound to my desktop PC the PC tells me the usb device is not recognized. It used to work where I can connect to my PC and look through files on my rezound, but it hasn't been working for a while. Does anyone know what the issue is? I tried enabling usb debugging and tried installing HTC sync and used some of the settings in "connect to my PC" section of the settings, but it still doesn't work. What I want to do is backup some files and eventually root and flash for the first time. I currently have an S5, but I want to root and flash on my Rezound. Thanks for any help.
Update: I got it work. I think it may have been a cable or port that wasn't working right as I used a different cable and usb port on my PC

LG Zone 3 (VS425PP5) Drivers

Hello,
I have a LG Zone 3 phone (Verizon) and I'm unable to connect it to the PC for ADB. It's running Android 5.1.1. My PC host is Windows 10.
So far I've managed to enable Developers Options and USB Debugging already. In storage settings the USB connection is set to MTP currently. Sadly when I connect the cable to PC nothing happens (I've tried connecting other devices to the PC to rule out the cable problem and they run just fine, so I'm guessing it's not the cable). I've tried to install different versions of drivers but none of them worked, list of files and tools I've already went through:
adb-setup-1.4.3.exe (LGAndroidDriver_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0_All_Win7.exe, LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN36AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.6.exe)
Android_Fastboot__mini_ADB_Drivers.7z
LG USB Drivers All Phone For Windows.rar
LG_Mobile_Driver_v4.8.0.zip (LG Mobile Driver v4.8.0.exe)
LGBridge_Setup.exe
LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.8.0.exe
LGUP_Ver_0_0_3_23.zip (LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23.msi + LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3.msi)
UniversalAdbDriverSetup.msi
Still no luck. I got so lost right now that I don't know how to proceed. Please help me figure out which drivers exactly I need to use for the ADB to work with this device.
