Hey Guys
I have an issue with my Galaxy S3 where it won't boot past the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo. and now the battery is dead and the phone doesn't seem to charge at all. When i connect the charger it shows the battery but nothing like the lightening bolt to show charging or anything of the sort.
I wanted to flash it but with the low battery this won't be possible.
Any work around?
I have the same problem with another one of mine except I can charge my phone.
Search same question asked daily .
Read the faqs and guides first .

Definitely rom problem. İf you can, get in to recovery and make a wipe data and cache.
Then flash a firmware via Odin.

same problem here. I'm having a hard time after I boot into download mode, odin doesn't do anything or recognise anything?

I actually did read a lot of those stickies and there was actually one talking about .pit, but only suggested to stay away from it.
Cause what happened is when I try downloadmodus with latest odin without re-partition enabled it says "there is no partition information".
And when I enable re-partition, it says "can't open com port".
Maybe something new that actually isn't on this forum yet?
Oh, and search is working again, but nothing on pit on SIII forum :crying:

Why did you put pit512 file in PDA section? Boot in download mode and flash rom again.
It won't boot
It is just death,no matter what I do
The pit file I put in Pit area,I'm sure about this
Do you have usb jig?

The hardware problem is between your ears .
One this is DEVELOPMENT post in Q&A .
Two you have followed instructions from XX forum why not ask them for advice .
Three are you sure you have i9100 phone as that PIT is not for this phone .
Likewise did you flash i9100 firmware .
You have a bricked phone .
Can you get to download mode if so flash a stock GB rom from stock rom thread to get the phone working .
No download mode two choices find a JTAG repair it will be cheaper than a Samsung repair . Alternative take to Samsung service and hope they dont charge but repair under warranty .

Here was mistake, Important! Do not touch any other button or make any other changes in Odin except selecting the required file as given in step 8. Why did you touch PIT button???
Pit.
When you flash tar you must not set pit for flashing. Remove battery for hour or more than put it back ,try to go in download mode , if that doesnt work find some usb jig to help you put the phone in download mode.
I'm sorry because posted here...and I thank you for you answer.
You may have right about the way I put the PIT file
can you please tell me where I can get the JTAG repair?

Hi there
I have a problem with my Samsung s2.
I have installed kies nor any other software on my pc to sync my phone to it. i don't even know how kies works...
I was going through the phone and under system i saw the update option...i updated the phone and the firmware too...after about 3-4 installations and reboots the phone got stuck on the start up screen...i tried hard reboot by holding the power+volume up+menu/OK keys - Nothing happened
then i deleted all my files from the sd card but that dint help either. Then i saw a video on youtube about clockworkmod... i followed that and after doing so the phone now goes to start up screen with a yellow triangle. when i try installing the ROM from odin it fails. Since then i got an icon showing that there is an error on the connectivity between the phone and the computer...i ran the clockworkmod again using odin and the phone returned to start up screen with a yellow triangle. The phone only goes to download mode but doesn't go to recovery/clockworkmod anymore (power+volume up+menu/OK buttons).
Another weird thing is that the phone doesn't turn off, as in if i press the power button for about 5 seconds the screen goes off but turn back on again...so if i have to reboot the phone i have to completely remove the battery n put it back in. when connected to the computer i don't see any storage drives on my computer only Odin detects the phone.
Please help me...
Thanks
Abbas
first try if you dont have a jig, remove battery and put back then Vol-down+Home+power...once you get download mod
Try a stock GB version on the ODIN from the link of All stock roms in my signature
make sure KIES is not running...and connected your phone directly to your PC motherbord USB socket, not through any hub or front USB socket...
better you give a full description of your problem like "soft bricked" instead of just "Q" on the heading, so that other can see at a glance...
Hi Zaheed,
Sorry about the heading...i actually accidentally posted this thread without the heading and now i cant see where i can edit it.
I will try what you have suggested and will revert to you.
Thanks

you can download it from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9100&r=1#regiona
latest GB is XWLA4
Make sure your phone is I9100, not I9100G / I9100T or any other

this one is working: http://skywanker.net/download/downl...9100_DBT_I9100XWLA4_I9100XXKI4_I9100DBTKH1.7z
just download and unzip, then you wil get a single file, which to be selected from PDA of ODIN...thats it
feel free to ask more....

So I rooted my phone and installed CWM Recovery. All was good until I attempted flashing Hawkish rom. It completed ultra fast. I was like...this can't be right. When I tried restarting...it never did.
I've searched forums about bricked Galaxy SIII, but everyone's situation is different from mine. I've tried removing the battery and reinstalling it. I tried turning it one without the battery and plugged in (computer and wall outlet). What confuses me is it completely unresponsive except when I plug it in my computer. The computer recognizes that there's hdw plugged in...but the phone doesn't respond. And ONLY with the battery out, when I plug it in...a red light shows.
That's about all the info I have for you guys.
Any thoughts? Am I $#!t outta luck?
Thanks!
Can you enter into download mode (volume down+home key+power button)
If so,try downlading stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it via PC odin

i think its this one.
Make sure ROM is for your particular device. That said, make sure you know what your particular device is. If you failed to do this ...I will laugh.
From my Evo LTE, yup.
That Rom appears to be for the i9305 unfortunately
You can only try flashing a stock I9300 rom and hope .
Otherwise its a paid for repair .

Model? SPH-L710 for Sprint
SPH-L710 for Sprint
I've been searching under that model number. It came up that the Hawkish matched. I missed something, but idk what and now I have a bricked phone.
I tried download mode. The computer "bloops" cause it recognizes a device is plugged in, but nothing further than that. Under Device Manager it recognizes it as the "qhsusb dload" device. Currently I'm doing a search about that. Any info about this would be helpful.
Thanks!

Basics as its very difficult to understand your posts .
Download mode first screen vol up .
Open Odin
Load firmware file as PDA
Connect USB cable
First box in Odin should show yellow then hit start .
Note at what point fails .

Hello everyone!
I tried to Upgrade this S2 i9100 phone from android 2.3 to 4.1.2. I used ODIN 1.87 and I9100XWMS3 ROM. when I started ODIN to flash the ROM it stucked in connecting or something like that for a long time, so i unplugged the cable and removed the battery. after that I can't turn on the phone, or go to Download/Recovery mode and anything I do just the first picture appears.
So is it Bricked or something?
is there any soulution?
when plug it to pc and open ODIN, it recognizes the phone. and when I try to flash the ROM it fails (like the second picture).
Probably not bricked; that picture of the phone/PC on the screen means the phone is in forced download mode. One way or another you need to get a successful Odin flash, and the way you do that is find Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in General & go through the troubleshooting steps in a methodical way as many times as you need to until you do get a successful flash.

Thanks man. I was freaked out, because it's someone else's phone. when you said it's a forced download mode, I thought there must be some way. and I've found the solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/repair-i9100g-samsung-galaxy-s2-flashed-t1448765
I just thought that the Phone was a i9100 like my old one, but it turned out to be a i9100G. So originally a wrong firmware caused the problem. and the pit file in that topic solved it.
Thanks again man.
Good work figuring out what caused the problem & doing the research/fixing yourself
