Hey guys, please help!
Anybody knows location of Xperia Neo L contacts database?
My friend made backup of contacts on SD card but he forgot to copy them to PC before he formatted it...and I installed him CM10 so they are gone for good.
I made CWM backup of stock ICS ROM but I can't find contacts database. I searched in \data\com.android.providers.contacts\databases\contacts2.db but it is empty. Other databases I have searched also doesent contain contacts.
Before everything I also made Titanium backup, but it also can't restore contacts....very strange.
I tought, with 3 backups, what can go wrong?
Little more searching paid off!
Everything is in \data\com.sonyericsson.eventstream\databases\eventstream.db, contacts are in "friend" table and calls&messages are in "event" table!
I'm so happy
cannot save new contacts

Hi everyone,
2 days ago I tried to update my aunts sensation xl and told her that it is better to update its ROM from 2.3.5 to 4.0.3.
So i created a google account in phone and added it in order to sync contacts....and after 2 hours, I thought that it has been synced.... but I was wrong.
After upgrading device to ICS, and adding the previous account that i made before upgrading, I was waiting for contacts to restore, but nothing happend....
I opened the gmail account on PC and saw that there was no contacts. So the only way for me to restore the contacts is to find a way to restore them from Phone device.
So,is there any software, either on phone or PC, to restore contacts from phone? or is there a way to have access to root folders and files of phone on PC to use a recovery program to restore "Contacts.db" file that was erased while flashing ICS?
I will appreciate any help from you guys to help me saving my reputation.....
Im sorry but those contacts are gone, you cannot undelete a file like that.
Also, for future reference, google only syncs contacts that you opt to sync when creating that contact (everytime you add a new contact, it prompts you where to save it, you would choose Google Sync)

Check the sim card's phonebook if they have any contacts and also check the sd card if they have any vCards left. If not then they are gone forever. You can also try to copy them from your aunt's old phone. (If she has one)

1) click on thanks instead of saying thank you
2) You won't need to edit contacts if you already have them. But if they are gone then you would have to start everything from the beginning.

"Dear Sir/Mdm,
My name is Devin Jadewood.
I am emailing the developer of GO Backup for help regarding the restoration of a backup I created using your excellent software GO Backup.
GO Backup is very useful in backing up and restoring my data.
However, i changed recently from Sony Xperia X10 phone to Sony Xperia U phone.
So, I wanted to restore my backup of Sony Xperia X10 phone to Sony Xperia U phone.
Then, unfortunately, i accidentally deleted the GO Backup folder from the Sony Xperia 10 phone microSD card thinking that there was no backup.
But, I had pressed 'extract text messages from backup' option last time.
So, I noticed that there is still a "messages_gobackup_2012-07-17_12-49-57" xml file in the root folder of the microSD card.
Please tell me how do I restore it to my new Sony Xperia U phone.
Thankyou for your kind attention.
I would appreciate it if you help me.
Devin Jadewood."
also i tried using other backup apps to restore the xml file but the xml file was not compatible.
computer softwares to decode the xml files also dont work as i have no xls stylesheet for this file.
i tried xls stylesheet of other sms backup apps and they are not compatible.
pls help. thankyou very much
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

Have you tried creating a backup on your new phone, then go to the folder where the backup was created, and replace the file with your old backup. Then restore it.
