Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and just received a Hoco flip case for it.
When I close the flap the screen light turns on.
I had the same case but it is older but it does not do it with the older case just the newer one.
Is there a way I can disable the button to prevent this happening.
Cheers Shane

I found a reply here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42617178 that will fix this issue.
Thought I would reply to help anyone else who is having this issue.

My Tab's screen flexes (I can see the light bleed moving) when I slightly bend the tab. Also if I press the back cover the screen ripples. Anyone else got this? Seems poor quality to me...

Not here mate,
Why would you want to "bend the tab" anyway?
It could be a dodgy tab you have got I suppose, how old is it? is it still under warranty?
If it is and you are unsatisfied then take it back.
As for your comment about it being of "poor quality", I am sorry but I beg to disagree with you there.
is there such an app that works on Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500?
I've downloaded a couple but none of them work... any ideas?
thoughts --- cover lock... when I close the cover the tab should lock itself and unlocks itself when I open the cover.
I agree.. That would be rather cool.. Sorry for not posting any assistance, but if you do find one, please won't you post it here? Thanks!
Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to write an app that uses the light sensor?
My new Xperia Z2 touch screen sensitivity seems to be too sensitive. I applied Sony Xperia Z2 Screen Protector GLAS.tR NANO SLIM and it is very good one. The problem is the screen registered finger hovering as a touch!! I don't even touch the screen, just hovering it, it seems to press by itself. By using Style Cover Stand SCR10 - Sony for Z2, it get even worse. The screen touches the cover while I am walking, sometimes it changes music and calls someone too. This is very hard to use. While I talk on the phone, the cover touches the number and sometime touches at End Call. I have checked the Glove mode, and it is always Turned off. I asked Xperia Care, they suggested that, I need to turn off the Glove Mode, and turn off, Double Tab to wake. I did them, but the issue is still occurred. I have updated firmware to the newest one, the problem is still occurred. Has anyone encounter the same issue as I have? If you have, can you solve it? if so how to do so?
Please help me.
Thank you very much
You could try going to settings > accessibility and then at the bottom change touch and hold delay to medium or long. Might make a difference.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. i will try it =]
Do you have ever have this issue before? i just wonder that, this over sensitive is due to the screen itself, or the glass protector

I've had it were I've accidentally exited apps or tapped on something by mistake as the screen was too sensitive. That setting seems to have made a difference though...unless I'm just more aware of the problem so make a conscious effort not to leave my fingers hovering over the screen. I've not tried the phone without a screen protector so can't say if this has made any difference or not.
Thank you very much =]
Well I've not notice an improvement with different screen protectors. Started with a Spigen antiglare one and have a Roxfit antifingerprint one on now. Same sensitivity.

Yup it does unfortunately.
Do you have, by any chance, a third party launcher installed? My screen sensitivity was messed up with Nova Launcher, had to uninstall it.
Just dont :/

Hello, remove any laucher you have till new update of the firmware it will definitely bug your phone :/
I'm using stock launcher. Yeah I hope Sony fixes this with their next update - and hopefully they are aware of it.
Check you don't have "gloves mode" switched on. I had that on and I think it increases sensitivity so when hovering it registers. I've since turned it off and seems to work fine. Settings, display, glove mode.
Hope it helps

Hi, Have you tried with screen protector yet? do you have screen sensitivity issue like mine?
Thank you very much
Hey mate sorry I forgot to get back to you.
Yes I'm using the protector ans no, no issues at all. Everything's fine.
Hey guys,
I just received my new Samsung Galaxy s9 Plus and I have realised that my device is faulty. But I really don’t know if I should just let it be, or ask for my device to be exchanged.
So basically on the screen there is two lines which are visible only when the device is turned fully off or when always on display is showing on the phone.
Do you think I’m being to picky?
Do you think the issue wold get worse over time?
Has anyone else had this issue before on the s9 Plus?
Do you think it’s the coating on the phone that is the issue?
Ps the screen is not cracked, does not have any dead pixels etc.
it would be helpful if you could post a couple of photos of the screen so that we can see if there's really an issue or not.
but if it really is a issue, i would bring it back immediately for a exchange especially given how much the phone cost

Same here. I post one photo of my s9+. Check & confirm.
I've contacted samsung, I will let you know the end result.
Erm, are you sure that isn't the thin tape that runs down the edge of your screen protector!?

I have the same lines. It's at the very edge of both sides of the screen. It's almost as if you can see the touch layer.
Just a quick update, I spoke to Samsung and they said it’s the first they heard of the problem, currently it’s been escalated to a higher department, I’m going to receive a call back today, I’ll update you with anymore info,
Ps can everyone contact them who are also Having this issue as it will only help with making the case stronger as a whole.
What screen protector are you using? Mine is the bodyguardz glass one.
I don’t have any screen protector on the device. The situation is so stressful, it had to happen to me lol

After more research and a closer inspection I do believe it is the adhesive at the edge of my screen. I also found pics of other people discussing this issue with zagg cases. This is my first curved screen so I was unaware of how they curved tgsp worked.
Thanks Chris.

I haven't been having much luck myself. Two devices with terrible lens flare and one with black splotches showing on the screen.

Lol. Happens to the best of us.
Quick update, Samsung was willing to replace the device under warranty, however I decided to cancel my contract and wait for the note 9.
I dropped my phone on a hard surface and now my screen is black. Any suggestions?

The oled underneath the digitizer more than likely is broke. Screen replacement is gonna be what your looking for. Might shine a flashlight across the screen and look close for a crack under the digitizer
I bought a case that's supposed to turn screen on/off when opening/closing. But it's not working.
How can I check if it's tablet's problem or case's problem?
Maybe this feature is broken in the android pie update?

I use this feature always on my M5 8.4. I don't have it with me to test the sensor location, but you can test it yourself placing a magnet in different places on the screen. Somewhere it will turn on and off.
Are you using stock rom?
The location the magnet test should be made (based on my 8.4) is bottom left corner of screen about 1-1.5 inches in if holding portrait. I don't know where on 10 inch model. My case is the same turns out the magnet in the case was either misplaced or not powerfull enough to trigger the auto screen off.

Head to settings to find the option to check the box smart cover, provided you have the supported cover.
It's working on mine
Finally I changed the case and in the new one it's working. So it was case's problem
