What about the latest nightly for Cyanogen 10.2 seems buggy might I ask? I'm just curious because I'm on 10.2 right now and since the 24th's nightly I seem to be nice and stable. I'm not saying there isn't bugs, just that I haven't run into any yet.

Could you elaborate on the flickering? I haven't noticed any sort of flickering or I just haven't been paying close enough attention. How would I reproduce this flickering effect so I can tell whether I am suffering from the problem or not.
EDIT: Just read up on the flickering. I've only had this phone the past month or so may be why I never noticed it. From most of what I've read, it seems like the flickering issue has been resolved for most. You may want to try the latest nightlies. Can't hurt, just make a backup of your current rom and flash over to the latest nightly cm. I'm loving the latest build, they incorporated the option to OC to 1.5ghz and it makes plenty of difference. This phone finally feels on par with my razr m performance wise.

Will try the new nightly ... Does the micro sd mod work on it

Glad to hear you're giving a more recent nightly another ****. I'm unsure about the sd-card mod. I'm assuming this is to move apps to the sd instead of internal memory? I may need to look into this as well, I've never had many apps at once though so we'll see if needed

I know there is a mod for 10.1 in the development section. I'm just not 100% sure if it is okay to flash it on 10.2, which is the 11/24 builds and on recommended in the previous posts.

Yeah, considering how well 4.3 runs and the phone having an S4 cpu, I really wish HTC would bring jellybean to us officially. We must be the only Snapdragon S4 equipped phone still stuck on ICS. I had a razr m for a short bit until the mic broke. Same specs but the M is clocked at 1.5. It's already got jellybean and has been promised an upgrade to KitKat. I really really wish HTC would GET ON IT

at least it's the only HTC (S4) phone that i'm aware of (okay, apart from our cutdown sibbling HTC Desire XC = identical design to Dinc4G just reduced spec; released in india _this_ summer with the same ICS!) that's still stuck on ICS ... but it's not exactly HTC, but rather _VERIZON_!! who keeps us waiting and asking all over >_>

i am running epinter cm10 now, amazing. no more experimenting for me needless 2 say
Epinter's cm10 is very stable and most of his updates are small releases with a few minor bug fixes. For the most part imo, Epinter is just updating along with the CM10 team's releases.

CM9 for Thunderbolt

This is probably more of a discussion for the CM forum, but I figured I'd post here anyway.
Do you guys think we will see CM9 or even possibly CM10 for the Thunderbolt? If not, what about AOKP or MIUI (official releases). I don't see why not granted that we already have working data on 4.0.4.

That's awesome news. What's stopping them from working with the leak opposed to the official OTA? The leaked copy is close to flawless. The only problems I saw with it was the Sense 3.6.
The official release marks the start of the 90 day period for kernel source release. That is what they are waiting on

I know a good deal about programming... Where would be a good start on porting ROM's such as getting CM9 on the Thunderbolt. I'd love to spend some time working with ROM's, I just haven't gotten around to read any documentation.

Use liquid as a base because they used cm9 as a base for them. I wouldn't see why it would not work..

I don't think we will see Jelly Bean. I think it would be too much work for HTC and Verizon for a device that is being phazed out.
The only glimmer of hope in my opinion, is that they are still selling it currently. Other than that, I really doubt it.

I had a galaxy nexus and had jellybean, and loved it. But I missed sense so I went to droid inc 4, and hated the small screen and seemed sluggish so I went to rezound and I think its the best phone I had in a long time.
I heard ICS to jelly bean isn't much of a transition, compared to GB to ICS.

That's unfortunate too cause this is a very nice and quick device, the processor is just as fast as a s4 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz
But hey I don't plan on buying another HTC after this anyways because of how bad they are failing due to updates and customer support. I hope rezound isn't forgotten.

Clock speed isn't everything...what a processor is able to per CPU cycle is the real gold, and the S4 is way, way, way better at utilizing the CPU cycles than our processor. it can do more per cycle, it has better predictive branching, better cache performance...the works.
We can all agree that our processor isn't slow.
It just isn't as fast.

Will we ever see a stable AOSP build?

I've been watching development progress on this since I bought this phone back in March. I'm running one of the latest CM9 builds and while it runs very well, there are still a number of issues with it in terms of stability and functionality. As we know, development on CM9 has mostly come to a standstill.
I've been excited keeping up with the CM10 progress and how it seems to be coming to a usable and relatively stable state, however now I'm reading everybody is working on getting CM10.1 booting instead of continuing to fix the issues with CM10.
Now I don't want to seem unappreciative of the work our developers do on their free time, but what's the point of all of this effort if it doesn't result in a good, usable product?

What exactly makes cm9 unusable? As far as I know blue tooth (Edit) and MHL are the only things that have yet to be perfected. I've run a couple cm9 builds that really blow jb on my friend's phones away.

With everything 100% working? No you won't. Blame it on HTC, not us.
And cm9 runs fine. 10 runs great but has a purple camera and the FFC isn't likely to get fixed easily, if ever. We don't have the jb blobs for it. And the ICS blobs only support pmem.
Can always go back to pmem for everything but it runs terribly then.
The point is I like to tinker and problem solve. Brain exercise so to speak. I don't release ROMs for this reason. I have zero desire to provide support for them. I personally just like to see what I'm able to do and build skills.

Understood. I really didn't mean to be seem to be assigning blame -- I'm extremely appreciative of and wholly admire the work you and others have put into this device. I was asking as a genuine question as it was unclear to me what kind of direction is being aimed for and what the goals are.
Keep doing your thing, and I appreciate the input. :good:
And I'm far from an expert on these things (my background is in system administration and networking, not programming), but on the camera issue, doesn't the Rezound use the same camera module as the Droid Incredible? I know there are working CM10 builds with everything on the camera working but video. Perhaps this could be of use?

Hmmm well... You don't think it might be time to update to an ICS ROM? If you don't want to do that maybe try a wipe and reflash. I imagine as old as GB is now that some apps are moving away from GB APIs for newer ICS and jb APIs which may be what is causing the apps to crash.

Well jblacks cm9 is a good ROM but ATM data connectivity is a problem. It works but drops out like twisted ICS. For any other ICS ROMs you will have to go to infectedrom.com and register. There are at least 8 ROMs there. All of them are great.

Given that Verizon Wireless, the biggest U.S. mobile operator, plans to start selling the new HTC One in late June, HTC will have a good chance of surpassing its second-quarter sales guidance of NT$70 billion, said Chen.

Oh that's awesome news!
Definitely time to flash a new rom (Looks like preliminary CM 9 is out in the development section) with a full wipe.
