Hi I was wondering if there was already a way (or if there is one planned) to change the transition effects of opening and closing an app. For me, it is a vertical transition effect and it's very disorienting to me.

Hi everyone, i'd just like to share this little custom UI tutorial using ADW EX, Multipicture live wallpaper and simple text. I had just had a lot of questions on how I had set up my simple text icons and how I did my UI in general, so i'm going to show you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kptguUktJA
Cheers!
A step by step tutorial would be great. At least to get the full effect. Your setup is definitely pretty nice.
Yeahhhh , agree with that!!! , You do it like a very general way , It would be great if you could backup your adw ex settings , and tell us which animations transitions you use and detalis like that.
I saw the video , but my tablet is far way from look like yours
sorry 4 my english

Which widgets do you use for the Calendar and Music?
Very nice, but too complex for me LOL, i've tried few of those "Launchers" but too many options to play with and not easy way to understand them. You gotta have bunch of time to understand all of that.
I uninstalled them all.
That's what i said, a step by step tutorial

I see,
In ADW ex, make sure you have UI settings -->Screen Preferences--> 10 desktop rows and 10 desktop columns and Hide status bar selected
General behaviour ---> Animations and effects: My scrolling speed is 1800, bounce is 9, wallpaper scrolling is enabled
Mulltipicture live wallpaper just has double tap to change picture and show reflection on top/ bottom..
Not much else I can think of, if you get stuck just give us a yell

Calender: Jotre
Music: Ubermusic
Any idea where Simple Text stores the buttons it creates? I want to reuse them and not recreate for each page. Thanks!
I have customized ADW to have 10 rows and columns. Now there is long space between icons on home screen. How do I rectify?
Ignore. Icons are working fine.
Is that calendar app Jorte or Jotre? I managed to find Jorte in the market.
If I use "Hide Status Bar" setting, the status bar is still visible. On top of that, if I click on settings, then the menu is partially visible on the screen? Any suggestion?
When I used that Simple Text, I just got an icon on screen, I can't get that text like you got it...
Im having similar errors as the above post. I cant make the adw launcher top bar go away for the life of me. And in the multi live wallpapers it freaks out and freezes the picture when I reach the last page of five and it wraps around to the first one. It doesnt transition there. Any ideas on fixes? I've done each and every setting in the multi wallpaper app for fixing that and none work...
OP, how were you able to use a live wallpaper with the multi livewallpaper app?

Heya,
At this point it's impossible. Multi livewallpaper only works with image files atm
Haven't tried .gifs but there's not much point + that's kind of lame haha.

But it was possible with an older version?
Hey all, I made a little video of my homescreen as well. Here it is. If there are any questions, just ask.
Btw James Harrison, thanks for some inspiration

Actually, I'm thinking what just hasn't been made entirely clear is that the exodus live wallpaper wasn't actually being run as part of the multi live wallpaper. Video editing just gave the impression that the live wallpaper spontaneously appeared.

Whoops! I'm sorry if it appeared that way, yea, exodus is actually just a live wallpaper and not part of mulitilive. You have to switch if you want a live wallpaper..
coooool! im gonna do this now
Hai,
I am having a problem with the scrolling of a live wallpaper which I recently downloaded. When switching between homescreens, the wallpaper scrolling stutters horribly and causes the homescreen animation to stutter too. From what I can tell, the problem is not performance-related, as the UI is still running at 60fps while it stutters, so I think it might simply be a problem with the wallpaper.
Is there any way to disable live wallpaper scrolling? The wallpaper itself does not have this option, but I am wondering if there might be another way?
The wallpaper is called "Sakura Falling Live Wallpaper" on the Market.
Thanks! :3

Dude,
I think it's a bit harsh that you've left the dev a user review on Google Play page saying that his app needs fixing when you've only tried it on an unofficial leaked ROM.

I would not have done so were it the case that the ROM could be responsible. The same problem occurs on my ICS Transformer Prime.

Which ROM are you on? Some offer simple flashable mods for disabling wallpaper scrolling (it's a simple integer value in systems).
Also, are you using Stock TW, or an external launcher?

I am on the SuperNexus ROM with the stock Jelly Bean launcher.
Hi,
It is more app development question, but as I mostly reader and don't post a lot - I have no access to dev forums yet.
I have my own wallpaper app (Awesome Nature Wallpapers) and noticed that it can't set wallpaper for lock screen when it runs on SGS3. When I test it on different phones (my old SGS1, GT7.7, Motorola Defy+, some Huawei phone and emulator) it is working fine - lock screen is transparent and wallpaper is visible, but not on SGS3.
Does anybody now how to change SGS3 lock screen background programmatically (I mean not from settings)?
Thanks in advance!

Need to use the stock gallery. QuickPic can do it as well but you still need to crop the photo using the Gallery's editor otherwise it won't work. Another option is to download a really old app called Wallpaper Set & Save. Works really well.

Sorry, I probably didn't explain properly - I'm not looking for another app to do it. I'm looking for a way to do it from my own app which I'm developing. Standard Android methods of changing wallpaper don't work for S3 lock screen background...
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the best place for this, but I was just hoping to provide some feedback and requests. I saw on your blog that you're working on the app drawer, among other things.
I would love to have the options for vertical continuous scrolling in the app drawer and/or a sortable list view. Most launchers have these options in addition to the horizontal paging. Personally, I usually prefer the vertical scrolling, but I also really like the list view in TouchWiz (with options to jump to a specific letter with one-click along the right).

Hi there,
The developers are currently redesigning the app drawer completely, so stay tuned

is there any ETA for the new app drawer?

This is good news. So,lets stay tuned. And one more thing,I also would give another :good: for the Vertical Scrolling..
Hi everyone
I like everything about s9 and s10 except horizontal app drawer.I would much prefer vertical and not paginated (or paginized) app drawer, so that i can just scroll through apps like in most other phones.
Can this be achieved with a custom ROM or add on? if so - which one?
Thanks for your advice!
The best way to achieve this without rooting is to install a new launcher. The most popular one is Nova Launcher . It lets you choose between horizontal and vertical scrolling and is very customizable in other ways as well. Since you would no longer be using OneUi, IMHO, you lose some functionality of the features samsung puts in the phone doing this however some would see this as a good thing.
Hello,
Thanks for suggestion. Yes I am aware about custom launchers - and i am considering this solution. I was wondering if it is possible to change One UI to vertical drawer before going down that road.
thanks
