I was having all sorts of problems earlier with apps not working, etc... I couldn't even add a google account. So I tried a factory reset from the settings menu, and that didn't work. So then I tried a reset through safestrap a complete reset including the system files, and now my phone gets stuck at the Samsung boot logo.
I'm thinking I might need to use odin and completely restore my entire phone. Does anyone have a tutorial on that? Or is that the way to go?

Hey guys..i want to reset my phone completely. I deleted some system stuff...and now the cam doesnt work, i cant connect my phone to the pc, the home button doesnt work, what should i do?? plz help!! (
Just flash the ROM again.
There are better ways of resetting the phone than messing about without deleting (vital) apps.
I prefer using WotanServer for flashing over my phone if I temporarily need to go to absolute stock.
It's easy enough and guides you through the process for flashing you to stock firmwares.
Even if you manage to brick the phone somehow, it can restore it.
My friends kids tried to play with my phone and tried to hack my pattern. In the process they tried multiple wrong pattern and even gave wrong username and password. They then restarted my phone.
After restarting the phone is not going beyond the Samsung logo screen. I tried to clear cache and restart, but no luck
To make things worse, I do not have any back up of the data/contacts (not synced with gmail also ). Hence did not try to do a factory reset. Is there any way I can take back up of all my data with contacts information? Or the only option is to do a factory reset and loose all my data?
Please help me in this.
Thanks,
Sreejith
I have a Sprint Galaxy S2 and I am out of the country without access to a store. I recently was unable to get my phone past the starting screen. YES IM AWARE OF THE ROUTE AS TO HOW TO DO A HARD RESET! First I took out the SD drive and did the proper way to get to the RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS (and lets be clear, the factory screen did come up!). However, this is where I screwed up, I accidentally cleared the "cache" one I believe, not the "restore factory". It then took me back to that screen and I was able to do the normal factory wipe. It never really restarted like it did with the numerous other posts on how its "suppose to reboot itself". I now turn it on and it just goes back to the Galaxy start up screen again, only now, I cannot even access the factory menu. Can someone please give me a step by step process on what to do? I have seen the word ODIN everywhere and I have no idea what that is...
Hi, I really need some help and I couldn't find anywhere.
My i9300 (probably > ) ran out of battery, I charged it, and when I turned it on, it seemed like it has been factory reset. I noticed that there is a black square in the middle of the screen with a lot of yellow text information about the device, I searched it online and found out my phone was stuck at factory mode. So I followed a tutorial telling me to download a root file explorer (I used ES) and change a file called factorymode from OFF to ON (not the other way around) and then restart the device. I did so and restarted the device and it seemed to have gone out of factory mode but now it somehow had factory reset and all of my data is gone! every app, contact, media etc. is gone and I'm really scared that I have done something wrong.
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance! And sorry for my bad english
No. If you let the battery run out then partition corruption can wipe your data, system or efs.
Hi,
After I tried to use debloater to remove bloat, I wasnt able to boot my phone after a restart.
I am no longer able to go to recovery to do a factory reset after I impatiently turned off the phone during the process.
Right now, I can access the phone through the bootloader page with various option, is there any other way to do a factory reset my phone.?
Thank in advance,
