Hi all. Knowing the kitkat transparencies, and beta launchers that incorporate it.
The question is how to implement them in lower versions as Jelly Bean.
My device is LG Optimus L9 JB, different to normal.
Try to Xposed and did not work.
So I decided to edit the SystemUI.apk, which in LG is LGSystemUI.apk.
I extracted to PC framework-res.apk, lge-res.apk and LGSystemUI.apk and decompile and compile process, but something is wrong, and android reports, SystemUI has stopped.
The process I do is:
I'm NEW USER, so here is the link of img ----> h-t-t-p://i.imgur.com/dTlahtx.png
· Android Multitool.
· Install framework-res.apk
· Install lge-res.apk
· Decompile, open folder and only edit a .png (invert colors) to try functionality
· Then I compile folder
· Open old LGSystemUI and copy META-INF folder and AndroidManifiest.xml to the new LGSystemUI with Normal compression
· Then I sign with Android Multitool.
But It does not work. What's wrong?
Thanks!!!, I'm new to the forum and I'm a little lost

Try to compile without edit anything and don't sign it with Android Multitool. Just copy META-INF folder and AndroidManifiest.xml to the new LGSystemUI.

Hello,
I used GravityBox with my stock LG P760 v20i JellyBean and stock launcher. At lockscreen it seems to work, but in main screen it doesn't. Status bar blinks transparent and after second it become standard black one. What is wrong?

May not work on stock launcher...try nova or apex. One thing I have found out though is that it has to be set as your default home screen to work. Worth a shot

I like this theme better than pulpoffs version

Cool design. I'm very happy about your Gingerbread Theme.
Does your device have to be rooted for this theme to work?
all okej, its work with any apps. Anyone know how to change the battery icon for with percentage in notification bar?
As the topic title, I would like to change my system icon without flash. Is there any app to do this?
Sr for my bad English. I am android newbie and I cannot speak Eng well.
What system icon?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
Go to Settings>Privacy>Reset settings
I mean the sms, phone, contact,... icons
Use a different launcher that supports themes. You will still see the old icons in many places, but it's the best you can get without root.
Отправлено с моего Transformer TF101 через Tapatalk
Actually I dont wanna use another launcher, the stock one is really awesome
You need to root your phone first. You will need to extract every single app which you wanna change the icons to pc. Then open it up with apktool, search for the icon and change it, then recompile it. After that, use root explorer to copy the modified apk into system/app and change permission to rw-r--r--. Then reboot phone. But remember, always do a backup with Titanium Backup before changing system app.

All apks you need are in /system/app
you have to be rooted and use root explorer to copy the apps that you want to change the icon to your desktop, after then, install 7zip to your pc, its much easier than apktool because you can replace icon without de- compiling the apk and re-compiling it back, right click on the app and open archieve navigate thru, Res- drawable-hdpi if im not mistaken, then replace the icon of your choice. after that close the 7zip and copy the moded app back to /system/app change the permission first to rw-r-r to avoid any issue. reboot afterwards. hope it helps

Hi @godlesplay,
Can you help me with my request?
In attachment are my original framework-res.apk from LX CM11.0 KitKat (build 20130113 anzu) and some icons of the Sony battery.
Can you put this new icons to framework-res.apk and send back to me new framework-res.apk?
My goals are to change original ugly battery icon on the Status Bar with more beautiful Sony icon.
I tried doing it by myself but without any success
I'm getting bootloop
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I'm using Lovins Xperia Z1 Theme but it don't change battery icon on the Status Bar.

Framework-res.apk works but battery icon don't changes
I don't know where is the problem. Maybe I have to wipe dalvic?!?!
Can you give me detailed procedure to compile/decompile framework-res.apk?
I'm using AndroidMultitool on Win8. I'm decompiling/compyling without any errors but when put it to system/framework directory with right permissions it gives me bootloop on bootanimation
Edit: Wiping of the dalvic and system cache doesn't solve the problem with battery icon

I've made an overlay with big softkey aosp. The same used in Android L Preview. You have to manually place the apk in correct folder and then reboot.
Place it in: system/vendor/overlay
You need root to place the app in the overlay folder. I'm sorry that I don't know how to make a flashable file, maybe someone else can make it using this apk?
All credit goes to monx®. I used his apk and swapped out his keys to the bigger ones.
@monx® I hope it's OK that I share the apk here. All credit goes to you. I used your apk file. You could even see that the name of the apk has your name on it. I'm not a dev, only a senior android user. Thank you for your mod. If I have done something wrong and you want me to take the apk away, let me know and I'll remove it.

It's with regret that I'm discontinuing support for this thread. I have a 6p now and I'm moving on. I will make my themed icons available in the downloads folder as a zip file. Here's a DIY theming guide.
-Download my themed icons or anyone you want.
-Use photoshop to edit them.
-Download 7Zip and open your lgsysystemui.apk.
-DONT UNZIP IT!!
-When opened navigate to res/drawable-xxxhdpi-v4
-Editing there changes most status bar and notification pull down icons.
-You can drag and drop your icons in this folder without unzipping the apk.
-After this just put it on your device and overwrite the lgsystemui.apk on your device.
-Don't forget to edit permissions.rwrr
-To edit the navbar you have to be able to decompile and recompile apks. This is a dev skill. So you can learn if you're interested or use xposed.
This process is the same for settings. WARNING NEVER UNZIP APKS OR ELSE IT IS DESTROYED!!!
Please hit thanks if you appreciate
What's themed?
Screenshots
Most Status bar icons
[*]Navbar icons size reduced
[*]Reduced most icons by 75%
[*]Some lockscreen icons like the camera(on secured lock screen)
[*]Knock code braces
[*]Auto brightness icon in drop down(turn it off and see )
[*]Camera shortcut on secure lockscreen.
[*]Password clear button
[*]Smart lock indicator in lockscreen
[*]Low battery warning graphic
[*]Settings app (each category has a separate color on list view) see attachments
More to come soon
Please everyone check within 24hrs tops after submitting your files. In case of any icon repairs instead of posting I'll have a small text file in each download folder stating what has been corrected. If you report an issue you can download it later and read to see if I fixed the issue. It's going to be a sort of changelog. But the official changelog is above. Also report icons that are unthemed which my OP says should be(not those that I don't yet intend theming or mentioned). :good:

No there are no 9.pngs. I didn't use that just normal pngs. Really just using 7zip are you sure bootloops won't occur?

Thanks man the guide seems explicit enough and I'm a fluent and native French speaker so at least I can read and understand some simple Italian. Thanks again. I was having nightmares with this 9patching stuff.

NO!! No root=NO!
Sorry, didn't see it before on the download page. I'll try it later and cross my fingers.
Thanks!
The 812 in your download page didn't work for telus. All I get is black screen after the reboot. Eventually it said something about system ui not working.

Things are a bit slow now as I'm completing my thesis.
For custom rom people I will not theme your navbar. This is because there are too many variables that could go wrong and the work it would bring me in correcting them will leave me with 0 time which I can't afford. I do this for all LG G4s and G3s. You'll get the themed icons and if you upload your settings app themed settings as well with any other future stuff I maybe doing later. Just try not being impatient, please.
If I gave you the tmo v10 system ui apk would you be willing to change it's icons? Just the wifi and data cluster?
Hi and THNX for your work.
Is it working on Genisys Rom 2.8 MM?
