Do you know another cell whit this specs to make a ROM (CM, MIUI, AOSP) port?
I have made a CWM 6.0.x and some Modified roms like a DEODEX, SG3 ROM (just the look), etc Based on STOCK ROM...
ZTE wonts release the kernel source code, stock rom and the tools to flash to work on it!
Do you know another cell whit this specs to make a ROM (CM, MIUI, AOSP) port? or can i make a build of another version whit the same kernel? The version of Kernel is "3.0.21"
I need the source code to make a tweaks because some applications close on their own I think it is, by the mismanagement of system RAM (we always have to use the task manager to close applications and leaves us free 184Mb maximum, otherwise, leave us free from 47 to 78Mb). thanks in advance...
Sorry for my bad english! i´m learning now! xD

How do I know if I have a stock or custom ROM/kernel?

I bought my US SGP 5.0 (YP-G70) second hand and have no idea if it has a stock ROM. However, I want to try other ROMs. I really like how stable my current setup is and would like to be able to come back to it if I don't like the other ROMs. Can anyone tell if I have a stock or non-stock ROM and kernel? Attached are the two pics of the settings and the ROM art.
Thanks!

You've got yourself a stock ROM and kernel. And, as a matter of fact, your ROM is actually one build behind the current (and last) build put out by Samsung. Samsung released up to 2.3.6. You are at 2.3.5.
As for the kernel, if you had a custom kernel on there, the kernel would be signed differently.
Yours is:
2.6.35.7-G70UEKI8-CL566269
[email protected] #2
A custom kernel would look something like this:
2.6.35.7-G70UEKI8-CL566269
*****@****** # **
The asterisks represent where the different signature should be.

Why do I see the price is not same with you wrote?

[Q] Basic(?) rom modding? Please do read...

Hello! I'd like to ask the community about something I've been interested doing as a project for a phone I plan on buying, I've looked around and I see lots of tutorials, but they don't quite meet the very specific criteria.
My problem is that I want to buy the "Umi C1" (click click for more info o: ) and the UI on the Stock ROM is awful.
I've looked around and there's apparently a way to modify ROMs using another phone's ROM files.
I was thinking of using the "HDC ONE M8's"(fake HTC one m8) ROM files and transferring them over to the C1's ROM file. (Both phones run the MTK6582 SOC, both have 1GB of RAM, Both have 16GB of storage, both run 1280x720P panels...)
Is this in anyway possible? Both roms are Odexed. (new to this, looked around on how to deodex roms and found a tutorial but I'm not sure how things will go first.)

Hello!
You can't move the whole content of a ROM made for a specific model, to another ROM made specific for a different model.
The reason for this is because the ROM also contains native libraries (drivers) that are specific to the hardware of the phone, and are not specific to the Android base code.
In other words, you would need to port the UI and framework only, not simply move all the files and even this is not very straightforward unfortunately. If you only want some minor (or major) changes of the home screen and application menu, then there are plenty of third party launchers on the market that should do the trick for you.
I hope this helped you.
Regards, Christopher

So, I had a Huawei device Y625-U32 which has no custom ROMS completely unadopted by any devs. Has a TWRP btw.
I read so much about building ROMs especially CyanogenMod
I just acknowledged basics as setting up building environment on linux and getting the source .. but as I said it has no source code ready for it ( device tree , vendor , kernel ) I read also some about making it .. but not quite sure
The important thing that I want to port CM12.1 especially after I found out that there's a similar device which is actually supported by CyanogenMod officially and has CM14 !! which is Moto E 2nd Gen ( outus ) which has all source code available the main important one is the SoC snapdragon 200 msm8212
My device Specs
5" 480p display
1GB Ram
4GB Rom
Snapdragon 200 1.2 Quad core CPU
Adreno 302 GPU
That's the main thing
The differences between the Moto E
Is display sizs and resolution which is qHD
And storage which is 8GB
I read about making device tree that I need like system and boot imgs and recovery maybe .. and I got all that ready on my laptop
So can I use the Moto E source and edit some values and parameters and ease the building process ? And port to my own device .. please help I'm confused between many tutorials
If two devices are similar what and where the easier work here ? Thanks in advance ..

JOB!-Make a Lollipop ROM for Galaxy KZoom SM-C115.. I Will Pay You!

Hello,
I need 5.1 or higher to run in my Galaxy Kzoom (SM-C115) that is stuck with Kitkat 4.4.2 from lack of Samsung support. I also need to keep my Kzoom since in the 7 years since its release there is no other phone at any price that can take pictures as good as it does.
Unfortunate and lame (Come on manufacturers!)
I know that a Note Neo 3 has the same chipset: Exynos 5260 Hexa and can run higher versions so maybe porting one of those ROM's is the best approach.
Rooting has been worked out for Kzoom but no ROM 5.1 or higher:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-galaxy-k-zoom-katkernel-3-4-104-005.2798321/
This person pulled off a slim KitKat ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...custom-rom-for-samsung-galaxy-k-zoom.3172166/
Let me know if anyone with MAD Skills can pull this off as its beyond my abilities and I am willing to pay for a stable Lollipop ROM.
Thanks

Challenge accepted. PM me!
Seems I am in the same situation as Freedomfliyer1 - loving my Galaxy K zoom for its camera and hating Samsung for neglecting its updates ;-)
Since Android 4.4.2 stupidly does not enable the implemented TLS1.2 by default, many apps stopped working. And now my beloved offline navigation went to Lollipop as minimum requirement.
Thus I would love to get hold of a custom ROM based on a more recent Android version for the SM-C115 - and would put some money in a crowdfunding hat for it, or contribute as a beta tester, or in some other way....
Let me know what's neeed to jon the bandwagon.
