[Q] Droid Razr On Page Plus (Can I install ROMS) |Solved| - Motorola Droid RAZR

Ok. So I have a Droid RAZR original verizon (xt912 I belive) on page plus. I have had someone flash it so it is full 3g so it works on Page Plus. I had it on ICS when it was flashed. Then I updated to the Motorola 4.1.2 Update and I had to get it flashed again. The person who flashed it charges 60 bucks, so it is impossible for me to get this phone flashed again. I have successfully rooted this phone on android 4.1.2. If I install a custom ROM, will I have to flash it again, because I don't want to fork over another 60 bucks. If it does lose page plus 3g, is there an easier way to flash this myself?
Thanks,
VLASP

Yes I have Pageplus and I always flash roms and get everything working with out flashing again. And you didnt have to pay that much! 60 is too much. Google "Droid RAZR on Pageplus" and you will find the tutorial on how to flash it step by step. I flashed it without knowing anything about flashing phones. Good luck!

So those tutorials also work on custom roms? That's nice to know. Thanks! I will try it.

Just flash on stock ROM, and as soon as you install roms it will automatically stay connected you do t have to reflash after each install of a ROM.

Yes it will keep the flash, and will have everything working.

Can i flash a eclipse on 181?

I have the 181 update installed but seems like waiting for Ics on RAZR is going to take way longer than expected. I want to switch to something new like eclipse....Ics leak had too many issues for me. So can i flash a rom while running on 181?
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
Absolutely, I flashed on .181 and have had zero problems. Eclipse is even a little more battery efficient.

Awesome I cannot wait to flash later. What's best way to go about this?
Bootstrap or safestrap?
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
If you're an XT912(CDMA-Verizon) owner go safestrap as its safer,no bootlooops, switching between ROMs. Sadly, if you're an XT910(GSM) owner you'll have to use bootstrap.
Here's a website with some helpful guides on how to install either one of them, how to install ROM and more.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...3JnkDA&usg=AFQjCNGZeJwX4LU_VEBRk0JxcfiburW23Q

Ics .79 (cdma)

Looking for directions for flashing this over stock rooted .181.
I tried one I found on another site and our did not work.
I've searched, maybe not in the right places, but can't find anything detailed.
Thanks in advanced!
Mods please move to correct forum if this isn't it!

If you had safe strap or boot strap installed before your gonna have to fast boot and try again it works I just did this two days ago. I started over fast booted 181 again then followed directions exactly and it worked. Its not a bad idea to fast boot anyway first that way you know your setup to revert back for upcoming ota.
I had a similar issue, trying to update from GB .181 to ICS 79 leaked rom.
Had to reflash .181 all over again because I had previously uninstalled some VZW crap software from phone (and when trying to flash ICS i got the exclamation point after a while)
Afterwards, root, rom manager, es file explore - permisions, and all went ok
Tried it again. This time was a success! Thanks for all the help!

Does this ROM brings the GSM support in Network Settings????
I think the only one that has it is .206 but once flashed your stuck from returning back to GB.

Not on stock from the DND (diddle-n-drool); you have to install a leak-based ROM like Axiom or Black Widow, which include GUI tools for changing the setting.
Mine is set to "LTE/CDMA/GSM auto prl".
So...Yes, it does.
Global phone, FTW.
Haven't tested it, but it's set to that.

I dont understand what you are asking. A stock rooted GB ROM? The only GB ROMs we have that are worth looking into is Eclipse and CM7. Eclipse is more stock as in how you baught the Droid X2. CM7 is more stock as in pure android (AOSP). And again, I dont know what you mean by "losing my flash so I cannot sbf to stock"
My x2 is flashed to cricket cause I can't afford Verizon. Sbf to stock would mean losing that flash putting the phones network back on Verizon making it unusable and would be paper weight. I want a stock moto DROID rom like blur

How to install a rom?

First off, I'm no android noob. I'm just not used to the process of installing roms on a Motorola phone. I am currently running the jellybean ota and I am rooted. I want to install this rom here: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/6188-romjb-fat-free-bean-beta/ and it talks about activating a rom slot. Can anyone guide me through getting everything setup and ready to run this rom?

Yes I already have the Firmware I just need RSD lite :good:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6etxwm905jros97/RSDLite5.7.msi
With some searching I already found it but didn't notice the option to wipe all system data before a flash the phone needs to be wiped totally clean and a factory reset didn't do it .

Oops I think I just failed to read when I was factory resetting the phone will see if it's worked this time the phone has random reboot issues I initially bought the phone for parts but decided to keep it as it is knowing that I could probably fix it

It's been a little more than a week since you last posted; have you resolved the issue your phone was experiencing? If not, have you tried Matt's Utility? It works on both PCs and Macs. It very useful and has been a saving grace for my razr maxx on several occasions. Let me know if I can help or explain anything regarding aforementioned. Best of luck and keep at it.

Well I've wiped all data and cache partition and flashed it with RSD lite and it still has random reboot issues not sure what to try next.
Try using Matt's Utility instead of RSD lite. In the past (last year) I have used RSD lite, although ever since I downloaded Matt's Utility, I have never once looked back. In my opinion, Matt's Utility is much more straight forward and user-friendly. On the XDA homepage, you should be able to find his utility by searching for "Matt's Utility." However, if for any reason you are having a tough time finding the zip file for his utility, I'd be more than happy to help. Let me know one way or the other!

I agree with Bman. Use Matt's Utility. Very easy to use and got me back to everything stock and running clean in no time.
