Dock Settings? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

I recently bought a battery case, to the phone it seems to be detected as a docking system as it charges via the magnetic adapter.
I'm wishing to change some settings on the phone with it. The major one is to NOT make it switch the phone to speakerphone when I turn it on. I generally turn the case on when I'm on a call as that's what drains the battery the most (aside from gaming). However whenever I do, it automatically puts it on speakerphone. It's a minor annoyance; but I just don't want to have to do this every time.
I've searched the settings menu and cannot find a option for this anywhere. In my Galaxy Note there was a "Accessory" menu, however that menu is absent from my Z Ultra.

Smart Connect. It should be pre-installed. If not, install it from the Play Store.

There's no option in that to disable it from going to speaker phone.

take it out of the case. Turn the case one. Open smart connect, insert the phone.
Then smart connect will detect the case and think its a dock I guess. Then you will have a range of options to chose from.
If its not there.. then speaker may not be an options...

No option for it, just option to auto run a app
Know of a way of doing this by editing build.prop (or similar file)? My phone is rooted.

I'm not sure you're doing what's suggested? There is no option to autorun in app settings. Try again. Android menu/settings/apps
Build.prop has no connection to smart connect or any other app.

Nope.
Ive reset to defaults by clearing cache and data. Same result.
So I deleted all devices and events I could with same result again.
Im sure there has to be some prop or configuration file I can edit to disable that.

Unable to install apps from SD Card. ( Solved )

I am unable to install apps from my sd card even though I have Install from Unknown Sources checked under Security Settings. I have attached a screen shot where I have a PowerAmp Unlocker which I brought from their website instead of the Play Store. I am unable to Install it. When I try to press Install nothing happens. But if I tap on Cancel it exits out. Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem?

I cant do that. I am switching from a Galaxy R I bought it a good while back. I did a factory reset, after that. It worked. But after that I tried again with a different app same issue. I think something is getting installer either through the updates or something else thats causing it not to work again.

This seems to be a jellybean bug, my s3 and my N7 suffer from it occasionally.
Keep trying is all I can say, it will work eventually, keep tapping install, or try to long press home to switch to another screen and back.
Or press cancel and start over.

I figured out the problem. It was Screen Adjuster that disabled my Install button. So if you have Screen Adjuster installed. Disable it by going into Settings> Manage Applications > All > Screen Adjuster. Then install whatever app you want to install. Then re enable it. It works.

Question

I have tried a few driving apps but I think what I really need, given the space on the Note II, is to just make my own driving interface out of widgets. If such a thing is possible. Unfortunately I am not finding what I need and I was wondering if anyone here knows of any matches
I am looking for a maps, or even better, a navigation widget. IE something I can place on the screen as a widget 4x4 or something like that that is showing the navigation app. using widgets which I can resize and place myself. I am essentially looking to make my own dash screen. But the key component is a widget version of maps and/or navigation.
If you change the dp in system with xposed, you can have floating windows. Then you can have navigation floating over all of your screens, and close it when finished. I know that this isn't what you are asking, just a suggestion.

It is not the perfect solution, but it works. Sometimes you havecto back out ofcit instead of closing it. Other than that, it is awesome.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Can you be a little more specific? Can not seem to reproduce that in xposed.
Sure thing. First install xposed, then install app settings. Enable app settings, then reboot. Gointo app settings, and click android. When the screen pops up, click on dp. Change the dp to 600x1024. Reboot, and you should have floating windows.
These are the setings I use. The only problem that I have had from changing this is my lockscreen rotates, and only shows 3 shortcuts on the lockscreen.

Strange. I already have Xposed installed as I run Jelly "Beans" and use the custom DPI on a few apps. But when I make those changes to Android System I don't see any change to the apps I open such as maps. No biggy, just curious why it doesn't work.

Android Device Manager EVO LTE Edition

So just heard the news about Google pushing out android device manager. A new find my phone feature. It arrived as an ota by Google. I'm s-off running evilution. Under settings -> security -> device administrators is where it is located. So just an fyi for all you faithfuls still lingering around these neck of the woods.
Visit: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
First check in settings -> security -> device administrators to verify google has pushed it to you as seen here. Check mark it to install.

Hmmm, I've got it. I'm on old release of dirty unicorn. I just can't decide if I wanna activate it, it sounds kinda spooky lol . I mean, wouldn't this make it easier for someone else to wipe my device remotely, or set a pin lock I don't know?
What's funny is when I just opened XDA app, on top of the front page was a thread about android device manager, didn't read it.

Not sure what I did, but I F'd my phone up good trying to do this mod ROTFL.
I'm not exactly new at this and have SQLite many times with no problem before.
I carefully edited the correct line but on reboot I got on immediate error saying system UI failed to load and there was no taskbar.
I tried to undo the edit, but it was really tough because the error kept popping up everytime I tried to do anything. I did get it corrected but the same thing kept happening.
I finally gave up & hard reset it (I would have given anything for a nandroid BU at that point......

Can anyone help speeding things up a bit?

Hi there! I'm having some doubts about the phone, switching between apps forces app refresh, even if I switch only for a couple of seconds. If I was filling up a form and had to check something in another app (let's say a bank app), everything I completed resets itself. If I was using a browser, leave it for a couple of seconds, come back, it refreshes the website (spending data and time). Any way to make it better? A really fast phone but this is bothering me.
Here is a video I recorded to show what I mean.
https://youtu.be/b_wrBgJrS4M
Tried limiting 4 background process as someone suggested me but it didn't change behavior.
The phone is a Leeco Le Max 2, android version MIUI .14
Any ideas?
Thanks!
