Hello to all!
Sorry for my bad English, it is automatically translated by google.
In Italy, where I can chat, there is a new update
"galaxy s4 zoom SM-C101"
The build version is: JDQ39.C101XWUAMK4 Android 4.2.2
It is updated the camera, compatibility with samsung ghear and everything is a little faster and smoother, and you instead? which firmware version you have?
The uica flaw is that I can not do more with the root "cydia impactor" from what I think I understand why Samsung has corrected the vulnerability of the phone ...
You know alternative methods of root?
The room here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2376889 this seems more dated than mine ...

Hey guys,
This is my 1st post here ever.
The only time I fiddled around with rooting an android phone was more than a year ago when I had an AT&T Samsung infuse. I followed very detailed instructions on how to root it and upgrade it. It worked like a charm and I'm so grateful to all of you experts trying to help newbies.
A friend of mine went to China last month and brought me a Samsung s3 clone.
The phone is factory unlocked BUT
1. It doesn't have the original google play application. It has a similar logo which leads to a Chinese app store.
2. Google mail account application is missing
3. The phone supports only Chinese, Korean and English languages. (I'd like to use it in different ones)
So I need to re-install a good Android version that has all the Android features that I'm missing
I thought it would be easy to find instructions on how to do it it here, but unfortunately I wasn't lucky to find a direct and clear step -by step instructions for my phone model
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300
Model #: mtk6515_ics2
Android version: 4.0.4
Base band version: MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V14
Kernel Version: 3.0.13
[email protected]#1
Build Number: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.18
Custom Build Version: V15.12
Please help!
Is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody out there? :crying:
Hey man,
unfortunately I don't think anyone can help you rooting/changing roms as it's a replica and there isn't a real development for it.
BUT as for the play store you can DL the apk directly from here:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/05/14/download-latest-google-play-store-4-1-6/
As for the phone language, after installing the google play store look for:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&hl=en
and choose the language of your wishing. That is in case that your phone supports it.
If you mean by google mail account the gmail app then in that case:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...ith-slide-out-navigation-and-brand-new-inbox/
BTW for future references - try to make a search for yourself I'm sure you could've find those in less than a minute
Cheers.
Thanx
Thanx a lot for your effort and concern.
I downloaded the latest google play apk, I installed it, but it wasn't working apparently because "google login service" and "google services framework" were missing too!
So I downloaded them, but they needed to be installed in system/apps.
I downloaded "root explorer" which should help me accessing the system folder.
I copied&pasted the apps in system/apps but a message says "your phone should be rooted first in order to paste" came out.
So back to square1
On the other hand, I tried to disactivate some of the annoying Chinese applications that came with the system using "root app delete", and guess what?
I get the same message that I should root this phone first.
So how can I root this bloody thing???
Yeah that is sounds pretty frustraing..Well I guess you won't find here a "how to root s3 replica" guide and personally I wouldn't try and rooting the device as it could easily brick it.
I suggest you go to the store and tell them that you've got a phone with no option to download apps, or connect to your Google account...
Hope you'll sort things up with the store soon

I wish I could follow your advise. The shop is 4000 miles away in China.
There is a google store app installed, but it's fake. It has a similar icon but with different proportions. The problem is that it's in Chinese and it deals with chinese applications.
Oh that is unreachable, but maybe can you contact them via Email etc..?
Anyways I found this thread I think you'll see it much more beneficial than my help as I don't have experience on rooting replicas and it's focused on your device:

thanx,
This method is for i9300 mtk6575
Will it work on my phone which is i9300 mtk6515_ics2?
What are my chances to brick the phone if I follow this procedure?

If you flash recovery from different device, there's a big chance you brick it
Try to use MTKDroidTools to root it, its pretty safe.
As @lolet said correct, you can possibly brick your phone...
That's why I advise you to ask in the thread I've linked onto, there are fellows there with much more experience than myself with rooting your device.
I guess in the last couple of years I've flashed hundreds of times but only on samsung, htc and motorolas.
Cheers

please this firmware link ,,,
Hello,
this is my first thread so please be gentle
I'll start by describing my problem:
My father bought my mother this phone during their holidays in Taiwan. They forgot asking wether german was a possibility as system language. This sadly isn't the case. Also the installed Android version seems a bit laggy (can't attest to how fluid it should be but it just seems less responsive than a new phone should be).
I've never had an Android but I'm very good at doing "computer-stuff". I've tried googleing this problem and found, that I'd need to flash a new ROM on the phone. I already read about Cyanogenmod (but just a little) and this was my first idea.
Will Cyanogen run on this device? Which ROM should I use? If this is not the solution what would be? The Version I would want to install should be most responsive and with as little unnecessary apps as possible.
I hope you can help me with this problem.
Hey all ...
I juz received a software update on my Note 7 (SM-N930FD) ... it's 196Mb update and has the latest Android Security patch with many UI changes and tweaks like changed drop down notifications (like Android Nougat), smaller app icons in folders etc etc ...
Important thing is that after the update, the over all smoothness has been much much fluent and battery life is significantly improved ...
Taste of Nougat ....

Nice how is the ram management on the new update ?
[SM-N930FD] Download Firmware N930FXXU1BPH6 - first update 19/08/2016
Firmware info
Model name: Galaxy Note 7 (Dual SIM)
Model: SM-N930FD
Country: Vietnam
Version Android: 6.0.1 (Official)
Changelist: 8981392
Region code: XXV
PDA: N930FXXU1BPH6
CSC: N930FOLB1BPH5
Download
N930FXXU1BPH6_N930FOLB1BPH5_XXV_FULL_SAMFIRM.NET.zip
I can confirm the device is much smoother since upgrading, you can now change the screen resolution in the settings menu. Battery life seems much better then before. Ram management seems the same but I need to play with it a bit more.
Nice sounds like a good update
I hope t-mobile gets it soon!
Ram Management is improved but No Huge Improvement is what I can see ...
Aggressive background apps shut down is not there now but it still needs work to be done in order to meet the standard of multitasking that the device of this calibre and specs should have ...
But overall ... This new update seems to be what the phone would have been carrying out of box as most of us bought our phones way earlier than the official launch by Samsung in our corresponding regions ...
Finger Print ...
Finger Print is hell faster with this new update ...
Juz tap it when the screen is locked and unlocking is done straight from it ...
Very fast indeed ...
Huge Improvement ...
Can this be loaded to a N930F? Thanks!!!
can any one post the video... with new software update
I just got my device and updated it straight away and performed a factory reset. I also have the duos version but I think it only presented me with a 186Mb update.
Hi, need some guidence here please. So I just flashed the XSG firmware to my N930F and it's a multi CSC - take a look at the screenshots. The installed firmware is APGK but it seems there's the new BPH6 firmware available, but my phone is not finding it. Is this normal? Could the update be available for another CSC code but not mine?
Thanks for the help!!
I'm getting mixed signals here. In one thread, there's people saying games work very poorly after the update - but everyone saying it's working better with it - can you all report on how games are performing? Apparently you notice a difference after 10+ min of play on the octo core processor.
This BPH6 software update screw up alot of Note 7 N930FD for Singapore users, check the Note 7 Singapore thread, so becareful with this update.

We posted the question because we would like to know if updating to the latest firmware will have an effect on the device's "rootability".
Not sure how it's joke...?

Because Nougat isn't out for Note 7 yet, and won't be for quite some time.

What he said, plus the steps needed to root each version of Android changes. So it is absolutely impossible to know until the time comes. It had always been best practice to avoid taking an update until it is known about the rootability of that firmware.
Hello, excuse me for my language certainly unsuitable, I am french and I use Google Traduction.
I own an old Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900T ref so T-Mobile, but unlocked any operator that works perfectly.
I would like to use it to do the application tests
I installed with Odin the latest rom available on samfirmware: KLTETMO: G900TUVS1GQA2_G900TTMB1GQA2_G900TUVS1GQA2 so Android 6.0.1
then I installed the Root CF-Auto-Root-kltetmo-kltetmo-smg900t.tar and finally I removed all the unitile applications to have a bare minimum and make it fast enough.
With the application "Phone Info Samsung", I only have the CSC "TMB", normal it is a T-Mobile
The processor is: MSM8974 / MSM8974PRO 32 bit
The GPU is: Qualcomm Adreno 330
The modem is: MSM8974Pro
REV 1.0 Hardware
RAM 2Gb
1080x1920 screen, 5.2 inches, 424ppi, 480dpi
1ST: CSC "TMB" I would like to have a CSC "XEF"?
2EME: I would like deleted this logo T_Mobile (horrible) at the start and stop of the mobile.
3EME: Is it possible to unblock the kernel to install the G900FXXS1CQD rom intended for model SM-G900F European model and so have the CSC "XEF"
In advance, thank you for your answers
cordially

it should be relatively easy to use one of the patched versions of odin to change the firmware. i know that 1 of the 3 cscs is permanant. shouldnt really matter in most applications. just search the forum for patched odin. many of the patches ignore the model match check and should flash the F varient you need. also the many hard working devs here have created more than one rom that will leave it barebones and blazing fast as well as install android versions as high as 10

Look up odin for s9 and a pc based program called frija. It can get your latest firmware fast.
It's quite simple. You have to download your phone's firmware first.
You can do this with a simple google search. There are pages like Sammobile, Samfrew and others. Though I would honestly suggest Frija (PC software) as it can download firmware faster than any website I've seen.
After that you just flash it with Odin, there are plenty of Youtube videos on how to do it. It's quite simple, just extract the firmware and flash the files AP_, BL_, CP_ and CSC_ (there is also HOME_CSC which will update your phone without wiping data, flash HOME_CSC instead of regular CSC_ if you have photos in your internal memory that you have not backed up)
And you should be updated
